Zelensky didn't try to prevent the conflict through diplomacy because he lacks honor and integrity.
In 2014 there was a coup. Soon after, there was a massacre in Odessa (dozens of people were burned alive). Ethnic Russians living in Ukraine were treated as subhuman. Their language and culture was being oppressed. A civil war broke out due to the rise in ethnic tensions. For 8 years the Ukrainian military was indiscriminately shelling civilians living in Donbas.
If Zelensky honored the Minsk agreement and pledged neutrality, none of this would have happened. The 8 year civil war would have ended and Donbas would have remained part of Ukraine. War is the ultimate failure of diplomacy.
Zelensky, Poroshenko, Merkel and Hollande admitted that Ukraine had no intention to honor the Minsk agreements.
Who didn't want peace? Who advised against the 2022 peace talks in April? Hint: someone visited Zelensky in Kiev at that time

"Foresaw the outcome of this conflict ..." is sorta incorrect. As yet there is no outcome, yet Macgregor has for more than two years kept predicting that it is imminent. I mean Russia is still struggling in the Donbass (no Blitzkrieg there) since 2014, evacuated its navy from Sevastopol and took its time to mount a lame counterattack in Kursk Oblast. There are ways to discuss these setbacks to build a credible narrative but obviously Ukraine is not as weak nor is Russia as capable at prosecuting the war as Macgregor thinks.
The thermal plant in Moscow that was hit just a day or so ago had the energy production capacity equivalent to two nuclear reactors. I guess that is at least what you need to heat Moscow during a Russian winter. It will not be straightforward to find spare parts or competent repair crews in time for winter. Oil depots are burning, air bases are being hit, AA resources targeted and rotting corpses of Russian soldiers in the fields are constantly being replenished with fallen comrades.

It's been two years and seven months (or ten years depending on how you look at it) and Ukraine still hasn't fallen. What facts are there that are obvious to you guys but not to me?
Only 150,000 Russian troops entered Ukraine compared to 400,000 in Ukraine's army. They call it a "special military operation" aimed at forcing peace in the Donbas and stopping genocide after Ukraine broke Minsk's agreements and started to bombshell civilians. There was an immediate peace offer in Istambul and the Russian military forces left Kiev. It was Zelensky, who started shooting at their backs. The purpose of this war is not to conquer territory, but to overthrow the fascist Ukrainian regime. Genius Zelensky helped Russia keep many Ukrainian reserves in Kursk Oblast (a tiny line along the border), in the hope that Russia withdraws some troops from the Donbas, while the Ukrainian front line is crumbling. If Zelensky does not withdraw the troops from Kursk soon, they will be trapped by Russians, encircled, and without supplies. If you don't see an outcome, you must be blind. There's as much force there as Russia believes is necessary. You lack intelligence and information since you think they cannot put further pressure on them.
