    We had two 2016 Cherokee Sports w/AWD and 2.4L engines. In daily winter commutes we used the remote starter the mileage was quite lower than in the summer. On the highway with oversized all terrain tires I could easily pull out better than EPA estimated fuel mileage, ranging from 28 mpg to as high as 31 mpg in hilly terrain with some lower city speeds mixed in.
    With my wife's replacement vehicle to her Cherokee having gotten totaled by someone who ran a red light, she went back to a Cherokee. I now plan to do the same with the Ram 1500 replacement I had as a replacement to mine. The Cherokee is awesome in winter and provides very competent handling and a nice ride as well.
    As far as lower than expected mileage with the turbo engine, remember it all comes down to driving habits. With a turbo it requires fuel to create boost and additional horsepower. The more you wish to accelerate or maintain a higher speed, the more fuel you're going to use -- and not in proportion to a vehicle with a larger naturally aspirated engine.

    I have a 2021 Jeep Cherokee that I special ordered, and I average 25-27 mpg and have gotten up to 35 mpg on the interstate. Not sure how that isn’t “fuel efficient.” This is also in an area surrounded with mountains, so there are plenty of mountain passes to go up. It is now at 21,000 miles and continues to get the same gas mileage.

      Do you have the 2.0 turbo.. I just got my 22 trailhawk and 1st tank of fuel was average of 21.2 mpg . It should get better .. still breaking in I have the 3.2l pentastar

    • @jeremystout412

      @@josephvolper3633 yes, I have the 2.0T. The other day I took a trip to Greensboro going 80mph the entire way and occasionally using passing gear and I went 150 miles on 4 gallons (which is nearly 38mpg). I wouldn’t really go by the trip computer, see how many miles you go and how many gallons of gas it takes. I just have the Lat LUX with the base 4x4 system.

      The 2.0 t wasn't an option in 2022 for the trailhawk i wonder why

    • @jeremystout412
      @jeremystout412 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@josephvolper3633 I’m not sure why. It was the same way when I ordered mine, one reason why I wasn’t interested in the TH. For ‘19-‘20 you could get the 2.0T with the TH. I assume it’s because they have a plethora of 3.2s considering it’s the only Chrysler product in the US to use the 3.2, and not to mention the 2.0T being used in more popular vehicles like the JLU and the new GC 4xe.

    The turbo is actually good for 4,000 lb since the 2.4 that's only good for 2,000 lb but honestly I think it could probably tow more it just wouldn't go very fast and a lot of the towing ratings are based on acceleration so I'm going to say that that might be the primary reason because you know the springs and the hitch and the rail cooler and all of that other stuff is exactly the same only the engine is different so it has to be an engine Factor.

    +1 the snow drifting is my favorite part, same for Jeep Compass Trailhawk, please. Jeep Compass is smaller with better looking front. However, the Jeep Cherokee has more luxurious interior. Why Jeep made so many diesels engines and not more powerful petrol engines? diesel is better in off-road, like rivers? Winter is not good for diesel, I guess? So why they chosen diesel?

    • @CarQuestion

      According to www.jeep.com/jeep-capabilities/towing.html
      for 2019:
      FWD: 2000lbs
      4x4: 4500lbs
      but once again, it's only a number and even if it can do it, I hope you got good brakes on your trailer at 4500lbs!
