Man, i would like to thank you so much for this tutorial, I just repaired by myself my Wilson The Duke Game Ball without any problem and everything thanks to this video, keep it up man!
any tips on getting the laces tight? it seems as i’m lacing if i pull the laces as tight as i can they end up being way too narrow and causing the leather to overlap, otherwise they’re too loose once i’m finished
Excellent video. Your description mentions this is an NFL Style ball and lace up. That ball is the Spalding J5V used by the CFL for many years and, perhaps, USA college ball (CFL ball has white stripe all the way around and college ball has it only 1/2 way). NFL has always used Wilson balls that are very slightly smaller. So my question is, is there actually difference in the lacing technique between the Spalding and the Wilson? I'm refurbishing my J5V.
Thanks for your football relacing videos, very helpful! I have a question about re-using a lace... If the football is old but never was used and needs a new bladder, but the original lace is clean and hardly any sign of use, can it be put back on the ball instead of using a brand new lace..? Thanks.
@@DSPbradenton Hello from Argentina! Can you please tell me what are those white laces on top of the ball made of? What's the commercial name (so to speak) if you need to buy it? Thanks!
@V8SupercarsArgentina I am not sure of the material. It is very strong synthetic material. I have heard that some people use leather in place of this material
Please review all my video descriptions, comments and replies for Wilson contact info to obtain replacement laces and bladder. There is also info regarding tool.
@@DSPbradenton actually i have 2 maybe 3 pairs. for anyone wanting to get some you can usually get them in a bait and tackle store, fishing section or medical supply store. got mine in the fishing section of a meijers store in michigan.
Hi, I need to buy the laces, do you sell? or know who they sell? I did not find the repair option on Wilson's website, I live in Brazil. I have 15 balls needing to change the laces.
@@DSPbradenton I even went to their site with no luck...waiting on an email from them....people on ebay wanting way to much for a kit (only a bladder and some lace no tool)
You can order bladder and lace kits from Wilson at address below by mailing $5 check or you can send ball to be repaired by Wilson for $20. Specify model and size of football when ordering: Wilson Sporting Goods Attn: Repair Services 217 N Liberty St Ada, OH 45810
Should probably mention to have the lace long enough to run it back at the end. I should've known to watch the whole video before starting. My ignorance. Lol
Wow brother..can you imagine how many footballs I could have saved if I found this video 15 years ago..DAMMIT thank you
Me throwing away 3 dukes about 2 months ago because they didnt hold air anymore... Shame shame shame. This video is GOLD.

Good morning I would like to ask you a few questions about bladders.

Almost impossible to reuse laces since they are trimmed after installation
@@DSPbradenton Okay thanks for that input.

Can you still get those bladders? I can't find them.

Very good video. Thank you.
What was the instrument used to pull the laces through?
what is the tool you are using?
It is a baseball glove lacing tool that I sanded all the rough edges off of so as not to puncture the bladder
are you using forecepts?
Yes they are the kind that will lock when clamped to lace....not sure where to get them.

I just got a Rob gronkowski and Julian Edelman signed ball and the laces are chewed up by a dog. The rest of the ball is beautiful.
