I also found that if I’m depressed or having anxiety, I spend money. I’ve found that it’s always good to have a frozen pizza (something) easy so that if I have a bad day I’m not tempted to eat out. I’ve wasted so much money in years past on eating out. Sometimes twice a day. And that also made me gain weight.
This. We try to follow a good diet but frozen pizza, large ice cream tubs, and boxed Mac are staples in our house due to boredom runs to Dairy Queen, Pizza Hut, etc.
Same here! especially when i feel lonely. I tend to leave the house just to get out of my head and out of my funk. Wasting gas just to shop even if it’s at Walmart just to not feel depressed or in my anxiety.
kyra. you have been a godsend for me. I started watching you from the beginning when you first started TH-cam. you have helped me streamline my home, limit my purchases, decluttering and cleaning up my life in general. I have saved so much money following your tips and recommendations. I'm learning that quality is better than quantity. I've purchased alot of items from your Amazon page and I can't thank you enough. please continue to make videos for us. we love you.
Hi Kyra. I met some friends for a picnic the other week. I made cous cous and a pasta salad at home and took along a couple of cans of pre-mixed drink I had in our cabinet at home, my bamboo reusable cutlery set and a cotton napkin. I packed it all up in a cute little picnic basket I bought ten years ago. The cost of a nice afternoon out with friends? Nothing! The only cost was my travel, which was about £5. I was so proud of myself! 😛Have a great week and hugs for Milo. x
I love leftovers! And a plus is depending on the meal it taste even better the next day because the food marinates overnight from all that good seasoning.
sticking with what works is a great tip. i found my style this year and i'm so satisified with my current wardrobe, my clothes shopping has decreased significantly! i also cycle through the same meals and snacks to bring to work. i almost dread changing jobs because i'll probably have to change my wardrobe and food habits
Absolutely love this video! It reminds me so much of your older videos you posted when I first found you on here ❤️ You are the one TH-camr who made me fall in love with minimalism and saving money instead of wasting them on things to impress people I don’t even like 😆 I am rooting for you and those 100K so much girl! You deserve to have many more followers and I love watching you grow ✨
Thank you for the tips Kyra! I am currently not working and have been caught up with shopping/social media.. Its a reminder to check in with myself and remember the important things 🤍
one thing that really helps and makes you feel like you're not depriving yourself is to allow yourself to get your coffee once a week - rather than every single day. It will also feel like such a treat the day you allow this :)
Agreed. The advice is absolutely sound, but unless I'm in a crisis I have to find some balance & enjoy little luxuries so I don't find day to day living an epic grind. Living in complete spending abstinence isn't sustainable for most people, so I know for me, allowing a coffee or a movie ticket or something semi-regularly keeps me on track. I'm terrible for "popping the cork" as I like to call it lol. If I've been saying no to myself for months, once I spend on something, that's it, I'm unleashed, & justify all sort of purchases for weeks lol.
Thanks for this video! I've never been in this low income situation but I'm currently off work on disability and I've been feeling it's impossible to save when you don't even have much. I canceled a few of my subscriptions and I've been making my iced coffee at home. I haven't went shopping for clothes in so long because I realized that I don't even go anywhere lol It's the small things that can add up!
Hey! I just started watching your videos a couple of weeks ago. Thanks for sharing your ideas on saving money. I’m trying to be more frugal to save up money to renovate my old house. It can be hard to stick to a budget and your videos help motivate me to keep going! I hope you have a great day. You are so close to that 100k!
Left overs YES PLEASE!!! I meal prep for my work week and by the end all the left overs go into one pan and a masterpiece has been born....Ive been able to save thousands by being frugal sustainable and minimalist and it keeps me from having to need a 2nd job....I just live below my means since 2016 and its my best life yet.....GOTTA CHECK YOUR ALOE GEL VLOG GIRL....HI MILO!
Just saw you are at 100k 💗 Congratulations. Even if it doesn't stay, still so proud of you. It's been amazing to watch your channel grow over the last few years and you've been truly inspiring for me.
Kyra, I am glad to say I have been practicing all of this for a few years already. All of your tips are great not only for saving money, but also to help the environment. Aloe Vera is a godsend! Thank you for your wonderful content, bless you lovely Kyra 💖💖💖💖
My family is not into fashion, make-up, or beauty products. We do use a lot of reusable items, and no one has periods anymore in my household for various reasons. We all save for any big purchases, or to replace an item. We do buy things that are want items, but it comes out of our spending money that month, or we save for it. It's ok to have fun & want as well as needed items.
Great video, as always!! Thank you Kyra! I love that you tie in being less wasteful as well as saving money. The culture in the US, and probably most of the world, has really become all about one-time use products and it's insanely expensive in the long run. My grandma just gifted me beautifully embroidered handkerchiefs to use instead of tissues. Why did we ever stop using these?! My allergies have been so bad this year and I've noticed that the cloth handkerchiefs don't shed all the fuzz regular tissues do and my nose is less irritated now. The simple things :)
That is mainly the US fro my experience. Also quantity vs quality. US seems to go for quantity with little regard for quality. You don't need a lot but invest in quality. Don't shop picking up everything or buying an item simply because it's on sale. Not difficult but again I didn't grow up with US consumer culture.
You can also get movies and series from the library. They might not have the newest stuff but classics like friends and Grey's anatomy. At least where I live they have things online so I don't have to drive into town. Saves me gas and time. And I don't have to think about fees for bringing back things to late.
congratulations on 100k!! I think I seen you got 100k from your ig story! so excited for you 💓I’ve been busy but I’m so excited to binge watch all the videos I’ve missed 🤗
Stay with what works….so true. I started my minimalist journey 2018 and one huge thing I learned is DONT BUY A MILLION LIPSTICKS 💄IN THE SAME COLOR‼️😝 I am currently using up the dupes and sticking to my nicer brands that “work” for me. For all the dupes I’ve tried I could have repurchased the ones I love. UGH 😩 Lesson learned. I also have stuck to the same skin care line since the beginning of this year, and I keep two styling products (curl cream & gel) to a minimum. Basically, beauty products have been my problem and I’m getting it under control and using up everything and minimizing my favs. I also, have recently unsubscribed 14 million emails from products I love and text messages. I feel they only make me want to shop for things I don’t need or waste time looking at things I don’t need. I am also going to switch my cell phone service over to Mint Mobile since I paid my phone off. Whew…more loose ends to pull together. 📱
I always take tupperware boxes with me when eating out. That way I don't feel pressured to finish my food and stuff myself, and I have leftovers to take home for the next day!
This is a wonderful and informative video. Less is more. I switched to re-usable feminine hygiene pads because I wanted to reduce the amount of waste that I produce and it does help in saving alot of money in the long-term. Living simply and happily grounds us as human beings.
I love leftovers, I meal prep to make food last longer and have set goals to go as long as I can without grocery shopping. I hate wasting food and want to do better.
Although taking a break from social media is nice mental health-wise, it really doesn't make that much of a difference if the issue is seeing ads. Advertisements are so engrained in our culture that if we don't see them on social media, we will still see them somewhere else. But if your INTENTION behind it is fighting temptation or comparison, that's another thing. For me, I've found that having a "want" bookmark folder on my browser helps a ton because if I see something I like, I can bookmark it and come back to it later when I do have enough to buy it.
🙂❣️Also if you are in need of something, there’s groups online that have free stuff or low cost items available. Save peels from veggies for soup stock. Trade clothing with friends or family to refresh your wardrobe. Make scrunchies out of cuts of fabric from worn out clothes. I love coffee, so I make a batch of coffee in a coffee maker and take some to work or put it in fridge for easy iced coffee option.
Thank you Kyra. Good tips. I try to use more reusable items. I still have a long way to go but I use reusable feminine hygiene pads, reusable toilet paper and as much as I can reusable tissues. I know it's easier when you have access to a washing machine. But it's a great way to save money. I love watching your videos they're always helpful. Enjoy the rest of the day and week.
Will you use reusable nappy’s when you have a child ? I used terry towel nappy’s on my first baby & felt so proud of myself pegging them out on the line to dry ,
Is a nappy the same thing as diapers? If so I will be trying my best to go that route unless we are traveling to see family then I will use regular diapers. But I'm gonna try it out and see how it goes. Being a mom is something I'm so nervous about and feel so lost even talking about it sometimes, luckily I don't have to worry about that subject for the next 5 years lol. So that way I have time to learn and research what I need.
@@Living.minimal Yes we call them nappy’s , My second baby had cystic fibrosis and constant diarrhoea, so that was 2 baby’s in 10 months I had , So I used 25 nappy’s a day with the cystic fibrosis too . Great video! We are buying a new home this year, so I am doing very little spending on clothes. If and when I think I may want something I shop the clearance racks or thrift stores. Recently I got 2 pairs of shorts and a Beatles T-Shirt for a total of $3 at Walmart. Our goal is to put at least half down on the house and take our time with decorating it.

A safety razor? 6-12 months its money saved (depending on how much you shave). Reusable paper towels and napkins? After a month or two that's just money saved (esp if you use a lot).
Recently I stopped wearing eyeshadow in order to save even more money when it comes the personal items I need to buy each year. I was using colour pop for the longest time and I might go back to it one day. I'll show me decluttering some of my makeup in a vlog. How I did my eye makeup was pretty simple, a very light color all over my lid, blend it out, then had a dark brown color near the end of my eyelid only. Then I just blend it all out to make it look more natural.
Benefit have a four bronzer palette, great for bronzer/contour & eyeshadow too cause I don't use eyeshadow palettes(benefit hoola contourist matte powder palette)
Yass!! I use to do this as well when ever we went and if there was leftovers. I would be so happy to have that food for lunch the next day when I worked a 9-5
I did the math and I was spending about $300-350ish a month on starbucks! yikes! i bought their espresso beans and a $100 machine and make my own. Oh yeah cold brew is dirt cheap to make at home, just need a jog with a fine mesh filter and place in fridge overnight. phewwww
Love this video Kyra🧡 Quick question, I like the water bottle you have and it’s a little pricey, is it worth it? Did you like it for a particular reason? Thinking of getting one. Tfs 🌸
Thank you 🤍 I honestly got as a gift but I really love that it can go in the dish washer and it makes me drink more water through out the day. I’ve tried stainless steel bottles in the past and for some reason over time they make the water taste so nasty. But the glass water bottle never does, the water always tastes fresh for some weird reason. You probably can find them cheaper at tj maxx or Marshall’s 🤷🏻♀️.
I was going back and forth all day about buying a new purse because I got a little extra money for my birthday. Do I need a new purse? No. I have a few already I use often and love but I wanted a new one just because. Watching this video helped put things into perspective a bit more and I decided to save that money instead. So thank you!! 🤍
Love love love this video!! What brand do you use for your period underwear; I work in a warehouse and so I’ve been looking into them because my reusable pads are about at the end of their life (8 years later!) :)
First time watching your video and I can’t believe how much you pay on rent people in California complaint about inflation and rent prices I pay 1100 for a 3 bedroom 2 bath house
It’s so hard to save and plan to save money when you are living in a shared home with 3 other people. The owner of the place only like to clean with paper towels and she also doesn’t do laundry. So I can’t even chose to do the more affordable option because she won’t clean with reusable products or clean to product it self. Anyone else struggling with having the options of saving money?
Well I still spend a little money every month. I should probably not save absolutely all the money I make. I just set aside an extremely small budget for spending.
These little things i started implementing a couple years ago have helped me in the long run But I am guilty of social media attractions which i try to control by limiting my time on social media. 1 hour is the maximum limit in 24 hr after which my phone shuts down the app. It has helped me with saving money and being more productice at work. DUAL BENEFIT✌️
My goal is to save ten thousand dollars to buy a used vehicle. I got my license a few months ago. I enjoy driving. I like used Volkswagen Tiguan SUVs. I am trying to spend less. I lost fifty pounds on my own. I feel good.
@@sonyavincent7450 Thank you Miss Sonya. I will save $10,000 to buy my first vehicle. Luckily I have five Gs already in my account. I need to save another ten Gs to buy myself a used vehicle to own and drive. I hope to get a used vehicle by December.

Who doesn’t like leftovers?? I love leftovers🥰 anyway, new subscriber and loving this content!
Love this video Kyra🧡
Quick question, I like the water bottle you have and it’s a little pricey, is it worth it? Did you like it for a particular reason? Thinking of getting one. Tfs 🌸
Thank you 🤍 I honestly got as a gift but I really love that it can go in the dish washer and it makes me drink more water through out the day. I’ve tried stainless steel bottles in the past and for some reason over time they make the water taste so nasty. But the glass water bottle never does, the water always tastes fresh for some weird reason. You probably can find them cheaper at tj maxx or Marshall’s 🤷🏻♀️.
I bought a portable washing machine. Use shampoo for lag soap. Saved so much money not going to the lagt
Leftovers are the best! Free homemade food that is already cooked, nothing better than that!
I was going back and forth all day about buying a new purse because I got a little extra money for my birthday. Do I need a new purse? No. I have a few already I use often and love but I wanted a new one just because. Watching this video helped put things into perspective a bit more and I decided to save that money instead. So thank you!! 🤍
Just an idea: there area masses of them in thrift shops. Sometimes new with tags, for just a few dollars.
Love love love this video!! What brand do you use for your period underwear; I work in a warehouse and so I’ve been looking into them because my reusable pads are about at the end of their life (8 years later!) :)
Such a great video! Where did you get that water bottle?
Thank you Christina here's the link for my water bottle amzn.to/3oTlu3x they have smaller sizes as well.
First time watching your video and I can’t believe how much you pay on rent people in California complaint about inflation and rent prices I pay 1100 for a 3 bedroom 2 bath house
The way you say Jar 💕
It’s so hard to save and plan to save money when you are living in a shared home with 3 other people. The owner of the place only like to clean with paper towels and she also doesn’t do laundry. So I can’t even chose to do the more affordable option because she won’t clean with reusable products or clean to product it self. Anyone else struggling with having the options of saving money?
Hi Kyra, thank you for this video♡ very helpful♡.
Love you thanks for all the videos from a fellow east coaster. A yankee NYer lol
Thank you for jumping into the video instead of a long intro
Watching from Dubai ❤️❤️❤️

Great video & great savings 🤑
Would Love to See a Video from you about other Options for netflix, Amazon Prime.. 🥰
Well I still spend a little money every month. I should probably not save absolutely all the money I make. I just set aside an extremely small budget for spending.
For me there’s no such thing as leftovers. Everything it’s just food. Healthy and perfectly edible
Ooooo I’m lovinggg this video!!
These little things i started implementing a couple years ago have helped me in the long run
But I am guilty of social media attractions which i try to control by limiting my time on social media. 1 hour is the maximum limit in 24 hr after which my phone shuts down the app.
It has helped me with saving money and being more productice at work. DUAL BENEFIT✌️
Thank you for the great ideas!
Can’t wait until the reusable items video 😊
Thanks! I love these kind of videos
My goal is to save ten thousand dollars to buy a used vehicle. I got my license a few months ago. I enjoy driving. I like used Volkswagen Tiguan SUVs. I am trying to spend less. I lost fifty pounds on my own. I feel good.
Excellent. You will really enjoy choosing and buying a debt free car.
@@sonyavincent7450 Thank you Miss Sonya. I will save $10,000 to buy my first vehicle. Luckily I have five Gs already in my account. I need to save another ten Gs to buy myself a used vehicle to own and drive. I hope to get a used vehicle by December.
Thanks for these tips! Been trying to do these already, but sometimes fail. haha! Btw, you look like Ivana Alawi, a celebrity in Philippines. :)
