it's 60lbs...not kilos...which is about 27 Kilos and that was he originally said, kilos not lbs, but they converted it in the subtitles for the US viewers. 27, that's the number of guards he kills in the club.

The reason the guy shoots one time at John the car is because the gun was given to him by Vigo, and Vigo used the rest of the bullets to shoot Marcus in the previous scene.

I've heard a few other people remark on how he kills Iosef.
But if you remember, we are told at the beginning that John is a man of focus, sheer will, so him just walking up to him him and putting a bullet through his brain is a perfect character moment.
John's not going to stand around talking to him. John's only mission is killing Iosef, nothing else matters. It's perfect.
If you're still a bit confused about the Continental Hotel, the rules, the whole hitman association, do not worry. If/When you watch the other movies it builds a little more on that side of things so don't try to Google it incase you spoil things for yourself. The answers to questions you may have are coming. lol ;)

@@EversPrimeTime ya that's pretty much it, it's just cool how much effort is put into the stunts and gun play. That lack of camera cutting is because all the stunt performers and Keanu are so on point that longer cuts are feasible. It's the difference between a 50 year old Keanu actually physically capable of performing fight choreography and say a 60 year old Liam Neeson "vaulting" over a fence in Taken 3 in only 14 cuts lol.

and the point of him rescuing a dog at the end is the intention behind daisy: so he wouldn't have to grieve the loss of Helen alone, in his own head and thoughts. he doesn't name this new dog either...just called Dog and Good Boy lol but if you need to know, this dog survives the rest of the saga so far.

"I heard you struck my son."
    "Yes, sir, I did."
    "And may I ask why?"
"Yeah, well, because he stole John Wick's car, sir, and, uh, killed his dog."
    "Oh."
    Boom! HEADSHOT!! 😎
Fun Fact: Bacon grease was placed on Keanu Reeves' face to attract his dog to jump on him when he wakes up in bed.
Action Star Fact: According to Keanu Reeves, he did 90% of his own stunts in the film. Of course, Reeves learned and memorized the nightclub fight sequence the day that the scene was filmed.
Stealth Adaptation Fact: The security guard who waves Wick onto the airport runway is reading the 1970s thriller novel "Shibumi" by Rod Whitaker, under the pen name Trevanian, also about a retired master assassin dragged back into the game. The story Viggo tells about how Wick once killed three men "with a pencil" is describing a crucial scene from the same novel.

A lot of classics come when you mix up genre expectations. The most famous is probably Romeo and juliet. It is a tragedy, but the beats all fall like a traditional comedy, mistaken identity, missing each other by mere moments repeatedly, even Romeo's mad infatuation for one girl being immediately replaced by a mad infatuation for another girl are all classic comedy theater beats and make a great tragedy.
So John wick is a serious action film that uses comedic expectations for dramatic effect.

I've never thought of this movie as a parody... Yes, those scenes are funny, but (at least to me) in a "what the - he's that feared/respected?" kind of way... I mean if you heard that your son is going to die because he stole a car and killed a dog, what else can you say but "oh..."? But I can see how you were confused by what tone it is supposed to be.
Also, you haven't seen Keanu Reeves in more movies than this and the other one you mentioned? Then that means you haven't seen The Matrix? Oh man, you definitely need to check that out!

Keanu, nice as he is, just really isn't the brightest candle on the actor's candle. He's a mediocre actor. But he compensates for this with hard training and very nice behavior in private life. For that RESPECT. But to praise him as an actor is an exaggeration.

In terms of whether this movie should be taken more seriously or more like a satire, I'd say you should think of it like a comic book movie along the lines of Sin City. Of course, it's *not* a comic book movie, John Wick is an original IP for the film, but to me the story, the action, the dialogue, the cinematography, they all scream out "comic book" and I think it's appropriate to think of John Wick the same way that you would think of a comic book movie.
