This is a really nice little video as I struggled with how to load the silicone gun, it's just not obvious to a 70 year old lady how it works!
Good tips all the way through.

This Northern fella has helped me no end become a competent DIY'er. I am already a qualified painter and decorator, so to look up this channel just furthers any skills. I even fixed my pensioner mates toilet. Plumber wanted 50 quid, I ordered the part for him and it cost £11.00. Not to mention my Mum's problem with her light fitting, last year. Top bloke! Thank you so much and love that accent! I'm not doing bad 'for a Girl!'

Thank you! I always struggle with these! literally just bought a silicone gun and spent half an hour trying to release the mechanism before resorting to you tube...it was the thing you point out in the first five seconds, how to use the lever at the back. Which now I see it, works perfectly. I'd still be struggling away now if hadn't found your video, so thank you again!

Thanks for this video! I am a retired lady (irish was my dog) and an avid HGTV watcher here in the USA. Now that I am retired I have lots of time to take on some home repair! I enjoy interior design but we will see how much I like being a handyman...or is it a handy-lady! I was going to have ask the sales person at the hardware store how to use a caulking gun!! You saved me from that bit of embarrassment!! I loved your soap on the finger for smoothing caulk lines..very neat for clean-up!!

I watched a few other videos and still had questions. This was by far the best video. No one showed my how to release the spring to load the caulk. The only difference is the caulk gun I have has a little hole on the side to insert the tube & cut the tip off so you don't have to use a razor. Also has a swivel pin-type thing to insert in the tube to release any build up to open up the flow of the caulk. Thanks - now I can go fix my project.

Great thanks! I use these so rarely, I always forget how to open them! I've been tugging away at the little lever for ages thinking that must be how to remove the old, dried cartridge, but I never thought of pulling the plunger back. D'oh! The rest of the video is good too. I like the washing up liquid tip. I usually just use bare fingers and that tends to be a bit messy. Nice work, thanks.

Thanks, female diyer her, first time I used a Caulk gun. I followed your other video, how to drill through tiles, first time, no cracks and was able to put my mum cooker chimey hood on. The only issue was, there was a big gap in the ceiling border from the previous chimney hood. Thankfully, my local screwfix had decorative caulk on hand, was only a £1 and brought a caulk gun. Was a big gap, so once I used the caulk gun, using a spreader to push the filler in so it doesn't fall out. Now, it looks a bit ugly, waitng for that to dry before going over it to get a smoother result. Once it has dried, will give it a sand and then paint over it. Many thanks for the easy video.

The video was very useful. I filled the gaps between the cupboard and the wall today. Additional thing I would like to mention is that I had to get a wet cloth/water (realized in the middle) to remove any spill overs and wipe the fingers; a thread, as I did not find a right fit screw to close; Filling area that was horizontally facing downwards was bit difficult compared to vertical/horizontal fills. Once again thanks.

I eventually worked out for myself how to release the trigger, to relieve the pressure & stop the stuff dribbling away. Installing a screw in the end of the tube works great and if you hang the tube upside down in your work space or service truck it will last much longer. Also when buying any caulk make sure there's recent date code on the tube. Otherwise the product may not adhere or cure correctly. Retired electrician mechanic 25 years used a lot of caulk in my time.

Very helpful video! Perfect instructions. One thing i'd add...wear gloves (mine have rubber fingers). Helped with the smoothing out process and kept my hands non-sticky.

About to do my practical exams. I already prepared when it comes to theory stuff but I was worried about this subject. I thought "hey, why not do some research first?", and then I bumped into this video.
I thank you for this video, there were a few things I forgot that I now have knowledge of thanks to you :).

I now know how to stop the stuff coming out the end once I've finished. This will save me much embarrassment, and quite possibly my job. Superb.

Re-sealed around a bath edge on tiled floor last night. Came out lumpy as hell.
    Watched this from 3:55 onwards.
    Silly me...
Keep up the good work! Love being a subscriber!

Thank you. Knew about the screw, but not how to release the pressure on tube.
