This video is so interesting Cody, I love to watch bull riding and you just made it more understandable on what the bull fighters job is. Love all your videos, very informative to an 82 year old. Never too old to learn I say.
You are such a great teacher. I am only a spectator, not involved with bulls. 🐂🐃 I understand now why you are so good at getting these bull riders to a safe place. I also notice the great sportsmanship you have working with the bullriders! 🤗🙂

Part of the issue with hangups, with the American style ropes, is that the modern riders are placing their hands farther down the side. Back in the day, the farthest I EVER put my hand down the side was if my pinky finger was along the side of the spine. Generally, I would put my ring finger in the middle of the spine. That being said, the rankest bull back then wouldn't be much of a challenge for today's riders. Watch video of Red Rocks and Lane Frost and then compare that with most of today's bulls. Red Rocks was unridden for a LOOOONG time. We were all deathly afraid of hanging up back then. I think the level of athleticism is considerably higher today, for riders and safety personnel as well.
Cody, can’t one of you three bull fighters carry a pole with a knife on the inside of a j end to cut the rope by the bulls side belly? It would look like a giant size ear tag removal knife and with the knife on the inside of the bent j it would be safe to use. The pole could have like a handle on the man’s end like a scoop shovel has. Just hoping safer someway can come about…..good video wear a bull fighters helmet😊
You’re always so informative no matter what you got going on, thanks for sharing! 💜
This video was so interesting as you explained it all so well about how the bulk riders get hung up in their ropes.

Do any of you three fighters practice together to know what to expect from the other two??
Do you and Ashley have any kids and if not, do you want them ?
Cody, If the American rope is safer, why aren't they mandating that all of the riders have to use them, like they've done with the vests & helmets??
Karl is the greatest!
@codywebster you should send this video to that @dalebrisby guy.. he uses a seat belt knife..😂
