You should have a piece of plexy glass between you and the cooling/engine to act as a firewall incase of any hose blow offs or anything like that. Just thinking out loud wouldn’t wanna see anyone get hurt 😅

Yes it could use some more tubes added and another X for sure. I had a neighbor that had a 45hp VW motor sand rail and installed a 3.8L supercharged V6 260HP in it and he only added tubes the length of rail and I told him needed to add some x braces. Needless to say the first hard acceleration twisted the frame. 😂

better check the trustwasher , i can allmost tell for sure that its toast and replacing it now will prevent a lot of damage later as for getting the learance , maibe you can bolt a woodrouter with a piece of steel to the flywheel and rotate that setup around while the router is running and taking off aluminium with a round over woodrouter bit , that should clear it while still making it look nice
A short plunge bit with bearing up by the collet would work just fine. Bolt that flywheel to a table and have at it. Even a hole saw would work better than perforating the flywheel.

You can go buy one of those RGB light strips that everyone is putting behind there TV’s and in the bedrooms and those remotes that change the light sequence will work on the whips! I found that out one day when i was trying to change my lights n was near a different strip i had setup and it clicked both of them! Hope that helps!

If you lost the remote for the lights, Try an IR tv remote. Just point it at the IR sensor for the lights and start pushing buttons. I run rgb lights in the house and run into the issue of changing light color when attempting turning on the tv.

Those remotes you're referring to are fairly universal. Wouldn't be surprised if you found one laying around or even borrowed someone else's for a bit to adjust your settings. They're also really cheap on amazon regardless

Transaxle and shocks excluded, these could’ve been fairly affordable toys. I wish mendeola’s/albins etc would make an affordable box that holds 300ish in a 2 seat rail. The last time I checked 2d’s (mendeola’s “affordable” trans) is close to $8k… Triple bypass and large body coil overs are understandably expensive, but jeez, it’s tough to build even a v6 2 seater on 2.5’s under 20” travel for under $25-30k in parts. Buying everything used can turn a two month project into a 6+ month project from having to buy some things twice and having to rebuild parts that were sold as being useable. It sucks to see the dune scene slow down (at least with the crazy v8 cars) and be taken over by the SXS’s. They are cool and compelling, but have you ridden in a twin turbo v8 rail that power wheelies NP? Build more v8 and big power v6 turbo cars, but I think for there to be a resurgence with the big rails again, there will have to be an affordable transmission that will reliably handle a lot of power pushing a heavy car with big paddles.
Doh, are you twelve? These things are expensive because there's the materials, the machining, the development costs to recover, the handling, staff to pay, machinery to pay for, property rent/mortgage, electricity and other utility expenses to cover, etc. Heck, in real terms these things are cheaper than ever - back in the day you'd be paying a darn sight more, even before factoring in inflation, and be getting less refined parts. For example, an aquaintance bought his rally car new - and paid almost 3 times as much again just for the aftermarket transmission - it was over $10k just for the gear lever assembly, that was an extra, FFS! You want cheap, make it yourself or buy inferior parts and end up paying anyway - as you've found. I will grant you, though, that some do seem to be taking the piss, charging a premium because they can. Shop around, there are other companies offering similar products that may be a much better option than some of the "name" brands.
My favourite clip of this thing was when it was haulin ass in the sand and you had a decently fast sxs I think it was to film from and the Dazzle was haulin with it then it just pulling away roostin. Looked soo intense!
I'd be checking your thrust washers if I were you, you've essentially grabbed the whole crank and pulled it towards the flywheel etc then cranked it with that 2kw starter. That's a lot of load with that flywheel torque.
Maybe have Phong make u guys up an air box. 0% chance just a filter is gonna keep it from getting full of sand again. I only say Phong because of the 1 air box he made for his 1 car. That shit was good.

It's a sand rail. Would need a lot of force to bend it up too much in the sand

The starter tends to work pretty hard when you're using it to turn the engine and as a lathe.

For those lights on dazzle. Try any random tv remote. volume up/down etc to change stuff. might be a temp fix till you can get another remote.

Transaxle and shocks excluded, these could’ve been fairly affordable toys. I wish mendeola’s/albins etc would make an affordable box that holds 300ish in a 2 seat rail. The last time I checked 2d’s (mendeola’s “affordable” trans) is close to $8k…
Triple bypass and large body coil overs are understandably expensive, but jeez, it’s tough to build even a v6 2 seater on 2.5’s under 20” travel for under $25-30k in parts.
Buying everything used can turn a two month project into a 6+ month project from having to buy some things twice and having to rebuild parts that were sold as being useable.
It sucks to see the dune scene slow down (at least with the crazy v8 cars) and be taken over by the SXS’s. They are cool and compelling, but have you ridden in a twin turbo v8 rail that power wheelies NP? Build more v8 and big power v6 turbo cars, but I think for there to be a resurgence with the big rails again, there will have to be an affordable transmission that will reliably handle a lot of power pushing a heavy car with big paddles.
How about buying a crashed fwd audi/vw (with a longt. engine) and using the whole drivetrain at the back? 🤔

Doh, are you twelve? These things are expensive because there's the materials, the machining, the development costs to recover, the handling, staff to pay, machinery to pay for, property rent/mortgage, electricity and other utility expenses to cover, etc.
Heck, in real terms these things are cheaper than ever - back in the day you'd be paying a darn sight more, even before factoring in inflation, and be getting less refined parts. For example, an aquaintance bought his rally car new - and paid almost 3 times as much again just for the aftermarket transmission - it was over $10k just for the gear lever assembly, that was an extra, FFS!
You want cheap, make it yourself or buy inferior parts and end up paying anyway - as you've found.
I will grant you, though, that some do seem to be taking the piss, charging a premium because they can. Shop around, there are other companies offering similar products that may be a much better option than some of the "name" brands.

I'd be checking your thrust washers if I were you, you've essentially grabbed the whole crank and pulled it towards the flywheel etc then cranked it with that 2kw starter. That's a lot of load with that flywheel torque.
