I prefer to have Van as a heavy tank (just straight up takes the damage) than an evasion tank. Having to spend 1 boost gauge every time you want to hit 100% evasion for only 2 turns is not cost effective, meaning in fights you don't activate boost Van still runs a decent chance of getting hit (shown in the vid) which defeats the point of an evasion tank. And even if he does successfully evade, his low range makes him unlikely to score a counterhit on anything he's not point blank with. A more useful set up is to have Van as, previously mentioned, a heavy tank with maxed out defence/shield/hp equipped with Red Hare and crest guard/regen guard unlocked. with team mates with guardian and avenging arrow specifically on your highest physical DPSer (mine was Aaron) unlocked. Now, you can create a positive feedback loop where you intentionally let Van get hit/target by way of coin bullets, he takes reduced damage though multiple DR sources and your best DPSer gets a counterhit in for free damage and CP buildup to their next craft/s-craft. Whilst Red Hare means that Van will always have enough CP to activate any craft to refresh buffs or to activate Grendel at the drop of a hat (not that you really need the Grendel since Van can straight up eat any damage thrown in the game without a boost even on nightmare).

since the s-boost is adding 70% evade u only need at most 30% equipped. lot of wasted potential
