I've always wondered about the context of that guardian trying to prevent people from reaching Frostmourne, whether he simply acted alone or there was some greater power at work

There's an entry 'The Guardian' in wowwiki, but I find the part about his motives pretty vague.

I always wondered about that to didn't make much sense to why he would care since he is some type of spirit thing.

Kebooooo The Guardian has been sent by lich king himself to show arthas like hes protecting his sword.Lich king thought if there were no obstacles before arthas he might suspect its all trap. I hope you got what im trying to say.

@@DeathKnight217 interesting, but why would the Guardian tells Arthas he is trying to protect him from the sword

I thought about it and i think i came to the right conclusion.. The guardian is like an elemental, thus he is in a way northend itself. Northend, as much of a cold and lifeless place it is, does not want anyone having the power of pure death in his hand. So naturally, sensing the swords ill power it manifested itself to protect the sword so nobody ever has the power of death so he/she doesent destroy the little life northend has. Hope it makes sense
