Sebastian Bach Lost Interview from 1990!

- in 1990 Sebastian Bach was on a break from touring with Skid Row and stopped by his hometown of Peterborough, Ontario Canada.
While there he was interviewed by the local cable TV station.
There is definitely content here you won't see in other interviews from the time so be sure to check out the whole video!
I originally posted this as two separate videos over a decade ago (due to time limits on TH-cam back in the day) - this is the complete interview, now in one video. Some content has been removed for copyright reasons.
Awesome interview. Phenomenal frontman. Definitely made Skid Row.
Met him once when they played the summer concert series in the parking lot of Brendan Byrne Arena in Rutherford NJ. They were at their peak, and yet this dude was as normal as could be. Probably the coolest celeb meeting I've had just cause he was like a normal guy.
Him and Maria came into a rock shop I was working in Toronto around 90-91. He bought a bunch of big posters, and I charged him for the smallest size ones lol... why do we do that for 'famous' people... he had money at the time. they were both really cool. ran into him a few times at local clubs as well back then

I saw skid row twice on their debut tour once opening for Bon Jovi at Nassau and at giants stadium opening for Billy squier and Bon Jovi. I was close enough to the stage that I have scottis guitar pick and had a torn cup Sebastian kicked into the crowd. They kicked ass. Sam kinison came out to introduce skid row. That show is on TH-cam. If u watch the video u can see a hot chick with a Cinderella shirt looking back at the cam. She was actually sitting on my shoulders because she was short and couldn’t see the band. She was hot. Lol.
@rvsnobrdr Agree . I feel Sebastian is humble . I've met other Rockers who are as well , Eric CArr , RJD , SRV , Def Leppard and Jeff Kieth from Tesla is super nice .

In the late 90s my friend and I saw SB Off-Broadway in Jekyll & Hyde. Neither of us were big Skid Row fans but we knew who he was; we just had some time to kill on a business trip in NYC. We were blown away by: 1) the way his voice absolutely filled the venue even without a live mic; and 2) how brilliantly he played this multi-personality role. We were genuinely impressed and my friend wanted to try for an autograph, so when he came out the back door he seemed thrilled at the crowd waiting for him. I held up my program shouting 'Sign one for Silicon Valley!' and he yelled back that his aunt was a mayor at some nearby city. He high-fives me as my friend snaps the picture. We're bragging about this to everyone but when we get the pics back (remember back when you had to wait for your role to be developed), there's several blurry pics that look like two unidentifiable ghosts... and a nice, clear close-up of two elbows. But he seemed pretty cool to us, and obviously multi-talented.

This is so cool to go back and see, skid row was a favorite of mine growing up in the 90's(I had the first album and listened to them in middle school and no one knew who they were and then they blew up and I remember getting slave to the grind and loving it and people would say it was bubblegum rock? Always loved baz's voice and punk rawk attitude 😎👌 it's still in my playlist today and I am glad he is still around.
I met the whole band just right before they became super famous. They were playing at a small club in Tulsa, I was a teen at the time. Got to actually talk to Sebastian for a while, joked around with him, it was a fun night.
hung out with him, Lars and James from Metallica in a small club in Toronto (91 ?) it was surreal. he is a bit of a spaz and always going for the laugh but never an asshole.
I enjoy his interview. He very realistic and honest.
And he's STILL good-looking, charismatic with a great sense of humour 😉
@@karengarrison3666 well I think he was much better looking then as most of s are in our younger days. Its normal to not be as good looking as u were in ur 20’s . I know I’m not as cute as I was back then. It’s just a fact. But I love his whole outlook on life and his love for music still at this age. Some musicians could careless about music as they get older . Not him , he’s still all about it and still does interviews.

Saw Skid Row, Soundgarden opened for them in Denver. 90’s were a great time for music!

I met him awhile back at Newark Airport. I gotta be honest - he was really cool. We chatted for awhile and he was happy to talk. Shame him and Rachel couldn't figure it out.
Yeah, in my early 20s they were the band I saw the most in the U.K.. met him a few times after gigs. He used to hang out with the fans, just like he says here. My girlfriend at the time wanted a picture with him and he asked ME if that was ok? Lol Great guy, but I can see how he could become exhausting and volatile. Was the worst day of my young life hearing they were splitting up. Still listening to those 3 albums to this day and I’m now 55 👍🏻
I had him all over my walls when I was young I wanted to meet him so badly. He was my first love as a child but wow how he changed over the years which we all do Great memories though 😊 takes me back to a sweeter time in my life 😊

Met him at a record store signing around time of his first solo cd/tour. Seemed VERY down to earth and approachable. Took time to chat for a few minutes.
amazing how you hear all "this stuff" about Bach, but then, people like you give real reports of meeting a nice person.
I met him three times, was always nice and would talk to everyone. I was walking away and he chased me down to ask me what I thought of the show that night.
Yup I met him in 2016 in Toronto and I was terrified of what stupid things would come out of my mouth because I was so fucking nervous. I have loved this man since I was 12. He was Awesome! So friendly, great to talk to patient for all the pictures etc. I always thought he was a cool person based on interviews 🖤🤘🏻🖤🤘🏻🖤🤘🏻

Amazing how fast Hair Metal faded under the grunge onslaught. Skid Row, Warrant, Damn Yankees, etc. Miss those days. So much great music for working out, riding bikes/skates, etc.
I honestly don’t think you could put skid row in there. Slave to the grind was heavier and almost speed metal esque. Awesome album. Their 89 album was hair metal though and I think that’s kind of what doomed them

When I was in my late teens to my early 30s I looked exactly like that, although I wasn't a musician. Now at 53, well those days are long gone, but it was fun.
Same. Hair down to my ass. Skinny jeans. Cowboy boots… and Nan this girls dressed amazing too. Great time to be alive. Nothing is as cool as the rock look. Even today nothings as sexy as a rock chic.

I have a vhs bootleg of one of their shows (Madame X) with him singing - but either I was ripped off or it got scrambled in the mail because the video is really damaged and the sound isn't great. but you can tell it's him. maybe I will dig it out and try to save some of the footage for a future post.

God I have always wished my hair was as thick as his.....Mine just goes really stringy and flat when I grow it that long....Sob sob.
Anyway when it is that long it takes forever to dry,so I gave up.
yeah i always envied his hair, mine was that long at that time but mine was always flatter and got frizzy with the slightest humidity. but seeing him just ten years after this interview til now his hair looked a lot more like mine. i dont know what he was doing to his hair at this time but just a few years later it did not look nearly as good.
My son has gorgeous long hair. It's thick and naturally a little wavy so it looks styled even when he rolls out of bed lol

He used to be gorgeous. Nice voice, kinda soft spoken unlike the raspy, exaggerated way he talks now. Beautiful teeth too, unlike nowadays.

Seb is the first person to make a joke at his own expense. Sure he looks a little janky at times and his voice is not what it once was but what he has proved is he has RockNRoll in his blood and will pay every due he has to to sing in front of fans that don't care if he isn't perfect anymore.

This was one of the first things I ever posted on TH-cam in 2007... when it had to be in 2parts because of video limits (it's still there on my channel) - I have since redone it so yeah, it's been around a long time but not before I posted it in 2007 from a vhs when I just happened to catch it coming up live on a tiny local cable station in Peterborogh.... lost it was, found it I did :)

nobody released it. I recorded it from the tv in the 90's nobody was going to release this footage. I don't think Baz or anyone from the band at the time had this footage. it was effectively 'lost'

Problem is he didn't crack the same person with that bottle that actually threw it at him, he jacked up a female bystander's face when he fired it into the crowd. Baz was smart........at times, but more often than not he acted like a dick.

i am not saying he was or was not a dick, i honestly do not know i have never been around him. but he definitely made some bad decisions reactionary decisions sometimes. but i graduated in 90 and had a quick temper as well, i only hope i wouldnt not have done something like that because even when i get instantly pissed it is a very focused pissed and i dont put others in harms way.

Baz was born in Freeport,Bahamas and shortly after his family moved to Canada.He went to New Jersey after signing with Skid Row.He’s a great friend and what you see is what you get….

Uh, he was probably 20 when he did this interview. He is now 54!!! WE ALL change over time. He is still a down to earth guy, and still one of the best singers.
Drugs and alcohol along with the Rock & Roll lifestyle is what happened to Sebastian Bach. It has a way of doing that to people.
