If you want your heart to be extra super crisp like a chocolate box you can go to an office store and get a big A3 plastic manilla folder and use that as interfacing. Just use an awl to punch some holes so you can stitch it in! I've had trouble finding interfacing that is stiff enough, so I've used plastic sheeting from a folder for a few cosplay projects.

Reflecting on the construction, and I must say, amazing effort for such a fast video update, I reckon the best solution might have been bias binding all the edges instead of turning seams, and attatching the gusset behind the hearts, with the seam covered by the heart's edge binding. But super cute project I think I'll help my daughter make :)

I adore your videos and I recommend your channel to customers at the fabric store I work at all the time, but PLEASE DO NOT SEW OVER PINS. IT IS NOT SAFE.
If the sewing needle hits a foreign object like a pin it can snap, or the pins can snap. The pressure foot will bent your pins anyway, making them trash. It could damage your machine, it could injure your eyes, just please anyone that reads this it is NOT SAFE to sew over pins.
