When I was little, our local television station would show the Universal Horror movies late on Friday nights and I'd stay up watching them. (That led me to collecting Famous Monsters magazine which thankfully, I still have) One of my all-time favorite Universal films is, "It Came From Outer Space." I later learned that both John Carpenter and Steven Spielberg cited that movie as being one that left a big mark on them as filmmakers. You can never overestimate the impact those Universal movies have had on cinema. Enjoyed the video!
Film Nobs wow. Very cool story indeed. I totally agree with your statement about the classics. People will ask me if I really enjoy watching any type of classic films, horror or otherwise. I always say, yes and just for that reason- their undeniable impact they have on what we see today. I'll always have a special place in my heart for the Universal Monsters. Excellent stuff. The boxset is gorgeous. I’m ashamed to say that I’ve never seen creature from the black lagoon, it’s so iconic and I need to get my foot out of my arse and check it out.

I watched all 30 for the month of October, I love how each movie continues the monsters story in the next feature, so ahead of the curve. Thanks for putting a video up on the set. I bought the same set, only in dvd a couple of years ago, and I'm waiting for the Creature Blurays to get fixed, so I can complete my HD set. (your going to get a little flack for saying Lon Channey played the Wolf Man, it was his son(JR.), His dad IS the Phantom of the Opera, no disrespect Mr. Rains.

It seems like they fixed whatever issue was going on with Creature. I didn't see anything wonky but I didn't watch the 3D version- someone said they thought that's where the issue was. 🤷🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️ I grew up with these classics. Yay! I love this and got it on flash sale by total fluke myself this year (2019). I accidentally clicked on that link and saw it was there AND expiring within the hour, I had to bite, and I love it. For my Halloween marathon I watched all the Frankenstein movies. I previously bought the collection with just the first film for each monster and I thought that set was nice, but this one is even better! The only way it could be better is if they did one of those coffee table book types like they did for the Harry Potter Collection. That was a beautiful set. So happy you got this one too! 🧛🏻♂️🧟♂️

NipoteZia 😂😂 this is a no shame zone. I was just telling someone else- there's SO much content, it's impossible to see everything. That's why I like throwing the classics in, sometimes it can help folks figure out what to watch if they're sick of that same old things. I like these types of things when I really need to relax or take my head away. They just bring me back to a different, and mostly better, time in life. Weird how things can do that. Looks sweet but I'm a bit wary of the mega set. I bought the UK edition of the first Universal Monsters Blu-ray set and wound up with a defective Creature disc. Turns out many others did too. Other than a few copy and paste replies Universal was unresponsive to my messages even though they admitted elsewhere to being aware of the issue. Ultimately, Amazon made good on my purchase and sent me a replacement even though I was long past the return period. Later I found out a new Universal Dracula Legacy Collection DVD set I had went bad as well. Those dual-layer 2-sided discs are getting to be a problem. Again, Universal could not be bothered. Their customer service is Kafkaesque.
Dam-Ian P wow. That's a shame and I do recall reading some reviews/posts about similar issues. I think they were related to the 3D version of Creature- in Region A, anyway. They were pulled from most retail sites and just recently reappeared. I've not gone through all the discs yet but if I do have issues, I'll be sure to share with the group. I've seen some individual releases on DVD and there was a noticeable upgrade to the Blu-ray. Not sure about the sets though as I've never watched the DVD sets. If I find out any more info, I'll repost. Thanks so much for watching. 👋👋

If anybody can answer....is there a big difference between the Blu-ray and non Blu-ray editions?
