Astonishing finds- and very clear presentation. Thank you!

A true pity that there is not more discussion on this presentation. The bobbins of thread remind me of those used by lace makers in their craft. We who do "twining" also use bobbins such as this to hold the long lengths of thread as we work, releasing a bit at a time. It is the only convenient way to hold 8 or 10M of thread in eight our ten bundles.
Long before the "loom weaving", which draws so much research, there was what we call "finger weaving" which is a complex braiding technique, and needs the assistance of bobbins.

Arre the sticks of yarn different colours? Are they associated with the shuttle?

    Any evidence of dyeing ?

Really feeling for the talented women - and I assume they were women, who lost their home, work, and possibly their lives, in this event. We’ll probably never know whether it was an accidental fire or a raid, but can empathize with the loss.❤️‍🩹🫶🏻🌿
