    I will admit - as a league bowler without many years of experience - that being able to still execute a proper strike shot while continually moving left is absolutely a problem. Understanding, in a nuanced way, how to both slow the ball down, and get more side-rotation on the release at the same time is very challenging for me. Even if you're using the correct ball for the conditions. If you're not experienced enough to know exactly how it should feel coming off your hand, it's going to be tough.

    I was told once you can also change how far down lane you look to adjust angle. Instead of moving your feet, move your aim point closer to you to get the ball out faster OR look farther down lane to keep it in the oil... This was a great explanation of why and when to move.

    JR, To rotate the box you're drawing, try putting your cursor diagonally just out side one corner. You should see a small curved arrow. Click and drag in the direction you want to pivot the box.

    Great video, this visualization was really helpful. I'm working on getting more rotation around the side of the ball as I've been seeing it roll out and not make it to the pocket as I make adjustments.

    This explains a lot! I started bowling a TAT (sport pattern) league. Your videos have helped me understand how to better play those patterns. I look forward to your videos. Thank you.

    It’s natural to walk in the direction that you’re looking. The drift back to the right can sometimes be from this. For some bowlers it is as you said, the change in perception from looking at your target from your set-up position to seeing it 10 to 15 feet closer causes the drift.

    Thanks for the video JR. I have just gotten back into bowling after a 12-year brake because of life. I have noticed that with changing my hand position to try and create more side rotation I leave more corner pins. Does that seem to be a normal problem for everyone? I bowl in a less carry friendly house, so it just might be me doing something wrong. Thanks again for all the videos, I've been using them to try and help me remember how to bowl.

    To go along with the video I think it would be helpful to describe when to change balls, and also to explain how you know a ball is burning up and losing energy. When you get far enough left I know it’s just a matter of when this is going to happen, and to know what type of ball to change to when it does happen. Great video…. Very much appreciated.

    I tend to drift toward my target and walk toward the target. If i walk toward the target arrow from 15 or 25 it changes the angle of my arm swing. So is drifting ok if you drift consistently? And it is bad to be squared toward my target instead of squared to the lane?

    Well informative video. I can make most of those moves left, but I do have a very bad drift to the right when I get too far left. I'm normally ok when I drift 4-5 boards right but I get into trouble when I drift more than that. I can feel it and know right off it's going left way too far.

    Good info as always! Just as a suggestion, I would look into a "copy/paste" function in your graphics program. That way, once you have your line drawn exactly the way you want it (angle, arc, etc), you just copy and paste that original line to show the adjusted shot (2in1, 3in1). It's faster and much less editing. I doubt it would work but you could try the old keyboard shortcut "ctrl + c" = copy and "ctrl + v" = paste. Thanks for the great content!

    Hi Jr, I find your videos incredibly awesome with your demonstrations . Of course, I watch your videos as I am having issues getting the ball to strike more consistently. Being a LH bowler, I know well how to transition things as a you view the lanes. However, my struggles are leaving 7, 47, 8, 6, 10 pins each game. My game range is from 195 to 215 and with the lack of strike strings to promote higher scores. Any suggestions?

    I stand way to the left and I try to hit between the second and third arrow on the right side and I'm still hooking towards the Brooklyn side what can I do? I only throw about 12 mph or less I cannot seem to hit the pocket consistently

    • @Swamprowdy
      @Swamprowdy 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      12 mph is very slow, especially if that's the speed of your hand. Even then, 12 is slow at 45-50 ft down lane.

I'm going to have the pro shop drill the holes a little deeper they said that will take some weight out of the block that is in there and it could give me less of a hook.

    Thanks for the great video, JR. Wouldn't you be releasing the ball like 6 boards to the right of your foot position? So if you were standing on 20 shooting at 10, wouldn't the ball / line go from 14 to 10?

    so in summary it looks like your goal is to increase the distance the ball goes down the lane without increasing the angle. I think that's right?

    Most of us that cannot hook the ball way left find this information unusable. Why not give some real help to those of us many people that have a small hook to our ball. Trying to turn us into pro shooters without being able to donate sufficient time and effort to practicing is unreal. How about some realistic help for the average person.
