    A great programme. Thank you. My father worked in the BBC Northern Ireland Light Orchestra. I remember as a 10 year old going and sitting in the control room. It made me very proud.

    It is interesting how I discovered this genre of music: The United States cartoon television show Ren and Stimpy. A lot of background music was used - and it perked my ears. Then the nickel dropped and I found the composers and began the journey to one of my favorite forms of music. Now I wish to get my hands on every piece of sheet music of the style.

    Light music was for years seen as the poor relation of Classical music. But, the composition and form of light music is just the same as anything from serious Classical music. I am glad that it is being recognised bow.

    Hearing the tune, it's hard to think that it was inspired by the sight of bognor regis gas works...
