Everything was shot on the A7s Mark 1. Champ fire setup was shot on a 58mm at F2, the TV screen setup was shoot using a a 85mm F2 and our short film Sixty Seconds was shot using a 35mm and 58mm. It's sometimes a little tricky showing what settings we used as everyone has a different camera setup, but if you have any questions about the setups, let us know.
@@TheFilmLook Yep. The Apurture MC is 400 Lux at 0.5 m and the Small Rig M160 is 1350 Lux at 0.5 m! It's unbelievable how bright is the Small Rig one for almost the same price. I think the Apurture is charging more for that incredible app.
It's interesting how things are shifting away from DMX control onto app based wireless systems, similer to how physical sound desks are being replaced with app controlled boxes without physical controls.
Yeah we are really going into the world of app-based systems. tbh, I'm unsure bigger film sets will use them because if the app fails, that's 100k+ being wasted per day, but for us indie filmmakers, they give us loads of control!
We've not used either of those, but the one thing they don't have is the Aputure Sidus Link App. It really takes the control of these light to the next level, especially when you are using a bunch of Aputure Light. The small PavoTube do look cool.
@@directedbybrian You can still set up these lighting setups without Aputure products, it just what we use. We have a video planned about how to recreate the police car light for about $2.
The output of the lights during Richard watching Tv was too high and could have been more random. It was like someone watching blue, red yellow solid colours on their Tv which is just a feet away..
We wanted something that was big and epic, you can definitely bring it down from here if your shot needs to be subtle. The TV flicker mode on the MC would do that.
Lots of nice tips there! Thanks. I really want some myself, I got to use one on a short film I did recently and they are very handy. I have the M9 and i like it. I miss the ability to change colors etc. but I am happy with it as a little light. I saw a video today about using mirrors to reflect sun and lights. Have you experience with that? It looks like you could kind of get two lights out of one. I see you got the SmallRig Matte-box. Is it good? I want to buy it. I also am l loking for a new camera and you said in one of your recent videos that your A7s is not holding up as much. I am looking at the new A7s III and it looks amazing. You should considder that aswell and I guess it will be really nice for you coming from the Sony-line. I want it for the auto-focus, because I have found out that missing my focus when operating the camera is a big problem and limiting my creative shots very much. So I need to look into the possibilities of modern auto-focus, like on the new A7s.
We never had any experience using mirrors to reflect sun light, we live in the UK so we don't get to much sun haha. The SmallRig Matte-box was a friends, who was helping us shoot this video. For the price it was really good quality, but small rig products always are. For us the Sony A7s is holding up for the TH-cam stuff, everything in this video was shot on the A7s, but when we are shooting a film we are thinking about maybe renting something. We can't afford to buy anything new at the moment so the Sony A7s Mark 1 will have to do. The A7s iii does look like a top quality camera.
@@TheFilmLook yeah we don't get a lot of sun here as well! Yeah I love SmallRig, they are so cheap and the quallity is amazing. I do not hav ethe money to buy new stuff either, but I am working on starting a video produsction company and make ads for small companies. I hope I will earn enough money to buy the new camera. I also get to take tax of the stuff I am buying if the company manage to earn over 5 000 Dollars, so every bit of equipment will kind of be 20% cheaper!
I literally got 2 mins use of this light before connecting it to sidus my phone dying and now the app wont allow the light to turn on connect work or really anything its virtually destroyed the light Pathetic flaw in this light Total deal breaker
I'll give you just one reason why i cant have them,
i'm broke.
The good news is that there are many ways you can do this without a sponsorship.
There are a bunch of ways you can achieve theses setups. We have a video planned which shows how to get the police car effect for less than $2.
Yeah you don't need a sponsorship at all.

just found your channel today! great video! i've seen reviews on these lights before and now i might have to buy them :)
Welcome to the channel!
Great job guys!
Good video when doing lighting like this what are the camera settings you are using?

Awesome, how did you attach the small black rig to the clamp in (5:27 ) 5:28 minutes
Great idea modding those clamps. Nicking that boys, ta.
Do it! We might need to make a video just about them modding the clamps. They have so many uses.
How did you get the ball head attached to the handle of the clamp itself?
Great video. As an option, the small rig light is way brighter minus the app. Keep up the good work.
Is this the one they have just released? I saw ads for it the other day and it looks great! We love Small Rig stuff here

@@dineshbhadwal9331 Yeah the app really does add a lot of value to the MCs. These small rig panels look great though!

No problem!
What about the LitoLite? Or the PavoTube? They have a similar output but are cheaper and easier to use as practicals
