The game keeps hinting that you should have companions. “I should come back here with a friend” or “It’s dangerous to go here alone” and teachers also keep saying you should go out there with a friend. I always thought you could just talk to one of the named students and take them along. Even two and build like a relation with them so they start to hang out more with you automatically.
I feel like it's just going to grow more. Games like no man's sky were bare bones on release, now they are amazing fully fledged and more. This games is already pretty decent, the addition of more choices, miniganes and more seem trivial and more probable than most claim.
I think at one point Natty offers to accompany you if you ever need her, but you can't actually do that. Definitely was a companion system being worked on at first.
That secret area that you can't fly to is 100% the Poppy dragon mission area. Looks exactly like it. Very weird that the devs decided to block that area off from exploration (outside of this glitch, obviously) in free roam, if you can go there for a mission. I really hope some of the other parts of the area are for DLC in the future! The map is so huge, it'd be a waste to not use all of it.
@2:40 That's the dragon area 100%. You can actually still get to that area if you have a save while you're under the map from the Transfiguration Courtyard Glitch. You can zoom under the map to get there and then come up under it and load into it.
Having a companion makes sense after defeating a ranked enemy and your character says “no one here to see it” as if having someone with you is also a option to see it
I've actually flown to the castle area, and yes it is the dragon quest, another thing the dragon does pop up when walking through the ruins and your character talks as if Poppy is talking to them, though Poppy's voice doesn't respond since she's not tthere. Another thing, you can loot the chests early.
Yes, one area is the dragon quest and the other is the moonstone quest (this is the far corner area), both from Poppy's storyline. She even starts talking to an invisible Poppy when you reach the fenced area near the large trees. You can also see the rocks into which they had to place the moonstone to see the moon dance. You have to do some dance to figure out how to enter the areas, though. Most of the edges of those areas just won't let you enter. Thanks for showing how to get out of the map, man!
To be fair they never said they aren't going to add DLC and later stated they aren't working on DLC right now because there main focus is porting it to last gen consoles.

Here's one little trick I found recently. If you are tired of fighting troll and there is only one troll in combat, you can use Imperio to mind control it and spam Petrificus Totalus to skip the fight. Unless you have Avada Kedavra, of course. Works with other enemies as well provided there is only one enemy in combat.
I am the most interested in Amit as some websites list him as a companion even though he doesnt't have his own character questline, unlike Poppy, Netty and Sebastian. I guess he was considered at one point as a official companion, but his questline was cut for some reason. Him being a 4th companion makes sense as Ravenclaw is te only one not represented in the official roster. As for companions in general, being able to call your companion to assist you a mission not related to them makes sense. Without then their quest lines feel lke overhyped side quests that shouls be parts of the main story. As to way companions being companions were cut I have a theory that since their arc span over the entire main storyline, if unlocking them was possible probably after finishing their questlines and it is possoble to finish all the other side missions before the final battle, they probably thought it isn't worth it.
There's a theory that the R symbol in the Ravenclaw bathroom has something to do with his cut quest line. There's a secret society of dark wizards called R, also called The Cabal. There might have been something to it that they decided against adding to the game in the end. But I feel like they should have left the quests and companions in the game.

I might be in the minority here, but the map felt like it was really big and I am glad they didn’t have more space to add Merlin trials and such. The best area in the game is Hogwarts, would have loved to see that be made larger.
I didn't hide behind structures, I just popped an Edurus potion and walked through the whole area. Poor dragon seemed confused when her fire had absolutely no effect on this walking sack of meat.
If you think back to what they said when the game released they stated that they had to cut a big chunk of the map out so they could have just put a border around it and left it there unfinished I don’t think it’s the dlc I think it’s the rest of the map that they had to cut out but that does also mean they could finish it and open it up as a dlc instead of recreating a whole new area when they have already got that one most of the way done
personally i found the upgraded petrificus totalus very useful. I played a stealth style gameplay on my first playthrough and with this i could do a basic cast to distract enemies, which quite often got 2 headed to the noise, then the petrificus spell would knock them both.
If you travel under the map you can get to the walled off areas. It is indeed the Dragon Lair and the other is the Mooncalf Den where you use the Moonstone. It even triggers dialogue from your character asking Poppy about her gran and things like that.
The dragon apparently Was escaping its zone when it was still an open non instanced place you had to go on your own. This caused Problems (ever hunting you dragon) - so it became an instance layer that despawns all entitys once the player isnt there. It apparently wasnt instanced when the first gamemags got to review that scene at their hq.
Seems like the devs don’t want to do DLC, they never mention it. Except to say they have no plans at this time. Super annoying. Milk this title dry, give us more, take our $$$!
No, both the off-map areas are from the Poppy quest line. One from the dragon quest and the other from the snidget quest. Just entered both the areas and saw for myself. 😅
@@IshitaSinha1 there are three areas that Jorraptor visited, two from Poppys and one which looks like a ruin building with some walls with windows…is also an off map area that you are immediately teleported after Rookwood captures you in Hogsmead. 😎👍🏽
Ohh, right, that one is completely off map, so it skipped my mind! The other two have darker map areas but those ruins are not even marked on the map, just a generic grey area. You're right, though, they do look like the Rookwood ruins, but they're not the same ruins. We fight Rookwood on-map and then we can roam the area and fly/fast travel back to Hogwarts if we want. It's not like Poppy's quests where the game transports you off-map and then back on-map again.
Just tried it on PS5 and you can fly to the blocked off areas as well. The fire/light you see is the Poppy dragon area and the NE area i don’t recognize, so probably a later part if the story
I also just noticed on the map that out into the ocean off the coast of the Feldcroft region, there are 4 noticeable large islands. Never noticed them before the Poppy mission glitch appeared. Point being, I feel like new areas of this large AF map could provide new areas later on. 🤞
You can go to the dragon den location and get off your broom there if you find the right spot. I actually explored it and looted the chests there before even doing Poppy’s mission. As for the smaller area, you can also fly in there if you go up high enough. There is a Stonehenge-like structure on the top of a hill up there.
I think that smaller area in the upper north part is cut content from a poppy sidequest, when you reach a certain spot in that area, you character asks "How is your Gran by the way?" A little time goes by and them says something alomg the lines of "Guess she's glad you're going after the Snidgets"
There definitely other instanced areas I've encountered it a few times where the map is disabled and teleporting is the only way in or out. It's pretty common with caves for example which obviously aren't taking up world space.
i flew into the first secret area from underground (skipping the boundary) it is 100% the poppy mission area, but this time in a different season (if you go there in any different season obv)
The misión with Poppy, when you see the Mooncalf dance to get to the Snidgets, also has the same issue. You access there immediately and can only leave by talking to Poppy.
Can confirm the area with the fire is the dragon battle area. The other dark area on the map that you cannot fly into close to the first, is another area associated with that quest line, it is the area where you find the moon calves and get the rune symbol. If you go out far enough to the map edge, you can find textures without collision, and use that to go under the world map. I then flew to the area underneath and was able to pass through the ground from below and explore the area. It’s best to fly to the eastern edge of the map, the norther edge has more collision for further out.
The zones in the top right of the map are poppy’s dragon quest and the place where you put the moonstone in the stone pillar. Using this glitch I was able to get into both areas, the standing stones area even triggers some lines from your character! Getting into the dragon area was tricky, I had to come from the standing stones area first, then fly high enough that I was able to get over the barriers surrounding the dragon area.. cool find!
I entered the dragon area from where there is a very narrow valley/ravine like structure. The lighting changes and becomes quite trippy. Just followed the ravine and entered straight in!
When you wipe out a bandit place, sometimes the PJ says something related to the companion option; I genuinely believe that feature was there initially. Perhaps the devs/managers removed it due to error handling and deadlines.
this is what happened. The companion mod on pc is perfect, almost seems like it was meant to be in game. The companions will even say stuff and react to your actions. Sad to see it was scrapped but at least the modders got a hold of it
Isn't Poppy's mission where you go find the mooncalfs and they dance also a teleport-only area? Edit: I confirmed the Northernmost area is where you go with Poppy to find the mooncalfs. And the place with fire was the dragon mission area, I was able to reach it and walk around.
I was able to go to the smaller furthest area, kept flying till i find an entrance and its the location for when you do the moonstone for the snidgets. The first location, I do agree its the dragon quest area 😊 this was a good find 😁😁😁😁
The areas outside the boundaries are probably similar in nature to Skyrim and the way the map works in there. The map in Skyrim is quite literally just an overhead view of the game world and if you get out of boundaries, you can see stuff like the White Gold Tower that is visible on the map(although as a crude 2D model).
This is off topic a bit, but I love the Capricious Vest uniform. It's my favourite outfit in the game, but trying to get it for my witches is like pulling teeth! On the Switch the waistcoat and skirt are lighter colours so it's really nice to see the darker version and it looks amazing
I have a feeling the vivariums are reachable outside the boundaries of the map. The map markers are visible while you are in there and they move when you change them. I think it's WAY the hell out past the border of the map though so it's hard to know exactly where they might be. Might be worth a long broom ride over the ocean to find out.
after watching your video. i found away into the dragon quest area. if you in the area and see the darkened areas. there is a line that runs by both of them, follow that line south on the map where it crosses another lineby the dragon area. you can toward the area and follow the line and enter the dragon area.
3:47 isn't the place that rockwood kidnaps you to? like i got a lot of stuff i hope they will change/improve(just a bit) change animal den into mini poacher area(so we will actually get our animals from helping them and yeah i do think we got too few options for potions like the potion of invise...most people first learn the spell and never use the potion ....
I flew under the map and was able to end in that area with the flames, it is indeed the area of the dragon mission👍🏻 there were even some chests left to open
I don't want the ability to unlock all the talents. Part of the replayability factor is that there are limits to the builds you can make - not to mention this can make each build feel unique and special in its own ways. If you can unlock all the talents, then each playthrough becomes basically the same exact thing.
Holy cow I just did and it was so simple little just in one corner and your in. That’s honestly a pretty big glitch for them to not notice honestly though at the same time somehow unexpected
The other lake area is also for a Poppy Sweetings quest when i was checking it out some quest dialog of my character talking to her mentioning her gran and something about a small flying creature :P oh and i got a few good veiws of of the tower and the fire and your absolutely right its is that quest area notice how you cant fly during these quests
3:22 - Yes, you're wrong... The mission with Poppy and the Mooncalfs also does this, it is outside the world map. Same goes with Hifflepuff's Azkaban quest.
You can reach those areas. I got to them from underneath the map. I used your hole in the barrier to get outside the map and then flew all the way to the edge of the map until you can fly underneath everything (where there is a void underneath you) and then fly back to the dark spots in the map and then fly back up trough the map and then you can land and walk around.
The quest to Azkaban is like that too. You teleport to Azkaban...banish some nosey Dementors....then talk to Mrs crazy pants. Then you get teleported back.
sometimes it is amazing just how much content is cut from various games and even more amazing just how much cut content is left in the game. favourite example is ME2. there is so much hidden content that was cut but left in the game that is is actually quite remarkable. like bringing Legion on Tali's recruitment mission.
Hey if your missing collectables check all the rooms in your Room Of Requirement and there are 15 or so butterflies not all show on the map so happy hunting lol
So I incountered an odd thing today... I went to go make a character to get my 4th house achievement. For laughs I decided to make a Dumbledore character... it does not let you use the name Dumbledore as it's a restricted word... makes me wonder if maybe they had plans for albus or one of his siblings to show up?
So I watched your video JorRaptor and I followed your instructions to the secret region and I went all the way to the area on the top right that is darker and it becomes revealed in the mini map like a completed area and as I was running around it triggers several dialogue sentences from my conversations with Poppy after we had gone after the Snidgets. Also, I was able to farm some plants… And I can confirm it’s the area from when you were going to save the snidgets as I came up on the hinges where you put the Moonstone in it in the center of the area.
@jorraptor I found a way into the area on PS5 that’s located NE of the mapped region you highlight in this video where the dragon rescue quest is located. My daughter pointed out that it’s similar to the area where Poppy and you place the moonstone in the henge as well as climb up to the tree at the top to rescue the snidgets. Let me know how to send this videos to you. From secret area, go northeast towards the mapped area separate. It forces you to fly sort of lower and you arrive at a tree that looks like it could hold jobberknolls, then fly close and try to escape the hidden barrier. Then once in there, there are harvestable items like Leeches and leaping toadstools.
The reason we think it’s an instanced area is because two dialogs occur regarding her “gran” but you only see your character speaking to her, not Poppy or her voice or dialogue pops up. It’s one sided but evident of the conversation that already happened after final quests with Poppy.
I feel like professor sharp or garlick as a companion would just wreck mobs by themselves, meanwhile black would just sit there and talk shit not helping you at all xD
I figured out what one of the secret regions is. The one at the top right corner is where you’re transport it with poppy to place the moonstone to see the moon calf’s dance. I search the other one, but couldn’t figure out its purpose. I’m hoping since they already have such an expensive map that they’ll just add on to it. Save themselves some work… Wondering if you get transported to ask a band why that is a Hidden on the map somewhere
Ok I just tested that you can actually go further in the location that the video doesn’t show you. I personally pulled it from just roaming around the area
One time I got past the no-fly border in one of the mountain regions and was stuck on the other side. I got a 15 second timer to return to the play area but couldn’t get back so I died.
yah those are instanced areas the ruins are where you fight, after being kidnapped near the end. it looks like a area used for set pieces, that take you out of the open world.
lol I found this the other day too whilst I was tryin to look for azkaban outside of the map. Idk if azkaban is pre loaded somewhere outside the map but I would assume if the return the dragon egg quest area is preloaded outside the map maybe azkaban is too.
They might make those areas part of a dlc. I remember in generation zero you can see other islands on the map that you couldn't get to then became a dlc. I so hope we get some dlc for hogwarts legacy!!!!
So I used the method you described to get to one area but kept running into alls I’ve managed to work myself out off the top corner of the map and am flying North well off the map now. Just to see how far I can go. I’m about 10 mins into my flight lol

Ok so you can get to that place with the dragon and yes that is what your looking at. When you were floating there looking at it turn left and follow the barrier over to the mountain. Go low to the ground. Eventually there will be an opening where you go right and start getting closer. Then you have to go all the way until you can go lower on the other side of the mountain. When you get to the point where there is a little runway almost like there should be a river coming down it but there isn’t, you can stay close to the ground and follow it up to that mission area. You come in it right where you put the dragon egg. I was actually surprised I did it but I’m promise I’m not lying.

That distant ruin IS the area you return the dragon egg with Poppy.
The Ruin in the middle of the lake is the Dark Arts Battle Arena.
The ruin area at 3:47 looks like the Deathly Hallows area wher you fight death in the 3rd Keeper's trial (But without the note paper \ ink filter)

It's a great game. It really leaves you wanting more depth, more content, more consequences to encourage replays. I can't wait for more.

It's definitely the Poppy area. I found the henge where the Mooncalves dance around the moonstone while I was there.

I think that smaller area in the upper north part is cut content from a poppy sidequest, when you reach a certain spot in that area, you character asks "How is your Gran by the way?" A little time goes by and them says something alomg the lines of "Guess she's glad you're going after the Snidgets"

There definitely other instanced areas I've encountered it a few times where the map is disabled and teleporting is the only way in or out. It's pretty common with caves for example which obviously aren't taking up world space.
That fire area was definitely the egg mission, just finished it, remember it indefinitely
I would love the respec potion without needing to mod in order to reassign talent points. Maybe that’ll be something they can add in a future patch
i flew into the first secret area from underground (skipping the boundary) it is 100% the poppy mission area, but this time in a different season (if you go there in any different season obv)
The misión with Poppy, when you see the Mooncalf dance to get to the Snidgets, also has the same issue. You access there immediately and can only leave by talking to Poppy.
Can confirm the area with the fire is the dragon battle area. The other dark area on the map that you cannot fly into close to the first, is another area associated with that quest line, it is the area where you find the moon calves and get the rune symbol.
If you go out far enough to the map edge, you can find textures without collision, and use that to go under the world map. I then flew to the area underneath and was able to pass through the ground from below and explore the area.
It’s best to fly to the eastern edge of the map, the norther edge has more collision for further out.
The zones in the top right of the map are poppy’s dragon quest and the place where you put the moonstone in the stone pillar. Using this glitch I was able to get into both areas, the standing stones area even triggers some lines from your character! Getting into the dragon area was tricky, I had to come from the standing stones area first, then fly high enough that I was able to get over the barriers surrounding the dragon area.. cool find!
I entered the dragon area from where there is a very narrow valley/ravine like structure. The lighting changes and becomes quite trippy. Just followed the ravine and entered straight in!

When you wipe out a bandit place, sometimes the PJ says something related to the companion option; I genuinely believe that feature was there initially. Perhaps the devs/managers removed it due to error handling and deadlines.
this is what happened. The companion mod on pc is perfect, almost seems like it was meant to be in game. The companions will even say stuff and react to your actions. Sad to see it was scrapped but at least the modders got a hold of it
Isn't Poppy's mission where you go find the mooncalfs and they dance also a teleport-only area?
Edit: I confirmed the Northernmost area is where you go with Poppy to find the mooncalfs. And the place with fire was the dragon mission area, I was able to reach it and walk around.
I was able to go to the smaller furthest area, kept flying till i find an entrance and its the location for when you do the moonstone for the snidgets. The first location, I do agree its the dragon quest area 😊 this was a good find 😁😁😁😁
Just found an entrance to the dragon area too!!!! Just stay low flying and keep trying to get in the area 😁😁😁😁😁😁
It's like the developers planned for mods to happen.
The areas outside the boundaries are probably similar in nature to Skyrim and the way the map works in there. The map in Skyrim is quite literally just an overhead view of the game world and if you get out of boundaries, you can see stuff like the White Gold Tower that is visible on the map(although as a crude 2D model).
This is off topic a bit, but I love the Capricious Vest uniform. It's my favourite outfit in the game, but trying to get it for my witches is like pulling teeth! On the Switch the waistcoat and skirt are lighter colours so it's really nice to see the darker version and it looks amazing
I have a feeling the vivariums are reachable outside the boundaries of the map. The map markers are visible while you are in there and they move when you change them. I think it's WAY the hell out past the border of the map though so it's hard to know exactly where they might be. Might be worth a long broom ride over the ocean to find out.
after watching your video. i found away into the dragon quest area. if you in the area and see the darkened areas. there is a line that runs by both of them, follow that line south on the map where it crosses another lineby the dragon area. you can toward the area and follow the line and enter the dragon area.

I flew under the map and was able to end in that area with the flames, it is indeed the area of the dragon mission👍🏻 there were even some chests left to open
I don't want the ability to unlock all the talents. Part of the replayability factor is that there are limits to the builds you can make - not to mention this can make each build feel unique and special in its own ways. If you can unlock all the talents, then each playthrough becomes basically the same exact thing.

The other lake area is also for a Poppy Sweetings quest when i was checking it out some quest dialog of my character talking to her mentioning her gran and something about a small flying creature :P oh and i got a few good veiws of of the tower and the fire and your absolutely right its is that quest area notice how you cant fly during these quests

3:22 - Yes, you're wrong... The mission with Poppy and the Mooncalfs also does this, it is outside the world map. Same goes with Hifflepuff's Azkaban quest.
the end of the snidget mission also takes you to a place you can't open the map from

In the center of that far place in the top right place on the map is some type of grove with runic pillars with a weird looking central plinth.
I noticed that the map in the map chamber had an extra area in the north east of it
You can reach those areas. I got to them from underneath the map. I used your hole in the barrier to get outside the map and then flew all the way to the edge of the map until you can fly underneath everything (where there is a void underneath you) and then fly back to the dark spots in the map and then fly back up trough the map and then you can land and walk around.
The quest to Azkaban is like that too. You teleport to Azkaban...banish some nosey Dementors....then talk to Mrs crazy pants. Then you get teleported back.
sometimes it is amazing just how much content is cut from various games and even more amazing just how much cut content is left in the game. favourite example is ME2. there is so much hidden content that was cut but left in the game that is is actually quite remarkable. like bringing Legion on Tali's recruitment mission.
I think they are going to keep adding on to the game which would be cool because it would continue the legacy ❤
I actually didn't feel the need to unlock all the talent points, but I obviously did. Didn't upgrade Room of Requirement at all.
I was finally able to get in that area and yes it’s the dragon area quest and surprise the cheats and ingredients are all still there

They are definitely tied to the character quests for poppy. I'm inside the top right island and it's the moon calf area for her quest

So I incountered an odd thing today... I went to go make a character to get my 4th house achievement. For laughs I decided to make a Dumbledore character... it does not let you use the name Dumbledore as it's a restricted word... makes me wonder if maybe they had plans for albus or one of his siblings to show up?
If they make a sequel set in the MC’s sixth year, canonically Dumbledore started Hogwarts that same year.

There is a Talent Reset mod that adds that potion in on nexus. I've not tried it yet.
So I watched your video JorRaptor and I followed your instructions to the secret region and I went all the way to the area on the top right that is darker and it becomes revealed in the mini map like a completed area and as I was running around it triggers several dialogue sentences from my conversations with Poppy after we had gone after the Snidgets. Also, I was able to farm some plants… And I can confirm it’s the area from when you were going to save the snidgets as I came up on the hinges where you put the Moonstone in it in the center of the area.
@jorraptor I found a way into the area on PS5 that’s located NE of the mapped region you highlight in this video where the dragon rescue quest is located. My daughter pointed out that it’s similar to the area where Poppy and you place the moonstone in the henge as well as climb up to the tree at the top to rescue the snidgets. Let me know how to send this videos to you. From secret area, go northeast towards the mapped area separate. It forces you to fly sort of lower and you arrive at a tree that looks like it could hold jobberknolls, then fly close and try to escape the hidden barrier. Then once in there, there are harvestable items like Leeches and leaping toadstools.
The reason we think it’s an instanced area is because two dialogs occur regarding her “gran” but you only see your character speaking to her, not Poppy or her voice or dialogue pops up. It’s one sided but evident of the conversation that already happened after final quests with Poppy.
Kinda looks like a normal "sandbox" type place where devs have tested enemies, seasons etc. in early development

You can get completely outside and under the map as well. Nothing there really of course but kind of neat.
I have the pc version and flying mod, and can confirm both areas are from Poppy's missions. The upper area has a moonstone keyhole.
When I get my game in May I'll have to try and get there outside of the mission.
I feel like professor sharp or garlick as a companion would just wreck mobs by themselves, meanwhile black would just sit there and talk shit not helping you at all xD
I figured out what one of the secret regions is. The one at the top right corner is where you’re transport it with poppy to place the moonstone to see the moon calf’s dance. I search the other one, but couldn’t figure out its purpose. I’m hoping since they already have such an expensive map that they’ll just add on to it. Save themselves some work… Wondering if you get transported to ask a band why that is a Hidden on the map somewhere
i think they have patched this now. Because I tried the same way you suggested and I was not able to head to the North Eastern part of the map.
I didn't want to mod my game... but now I'm tempted to use the companions mod.

Ok I just tested that you can actually go further in the location that the video doesn’t show you. I personally pulled it from just roaming around the area

I got into the dragon area, basically, circle around to the other side of the area.
One time I got past the no-fly border in one of the mountain regions and was stuck on the other side. I got a 15 second timer to return to the play area but couldn’t get back so I died.

yah those are instanced areas the ruins are where you fight, after being kidnapped near the end. it looks like a area used for set pieces, that take you out of the open world.

lol I found this the other day too whilst I was tryin to look for azkaban outside of the map. Idk if azkaban is pre loaded somewhere outside the map but I would assume if the return the dragon egg quest area is preloaded outside the map maybe azkaban is too.
If you fly around the right outside of the area, and go inside you can access it
They might make those areas part of a dlc. I remember in generation zero you can see other islands on the map that you couldn't get to then became a dlc. I so hope we get some dlc for hogwarts legacy!!!!
So I used the method you described to get to one area but kept running into alls I’ve managed to work myself out off the top corner of the map and am flying North well off the map now. Just to see how far I can go. I’m about 10 mins into my flight lol

Ok so you can get to that place with the dragon and yes that is what your looking at. When you were floating there looking at it turn left and follow the barrier over to the mountain. Go low to the ground. Eventually there will be an opening where you go right and start getting closer. Then you have to go all the way until you can go lower on the other side of the mountain. When you get to the point where there is a little runway almost like there should be a river coming down it but there isn’t, you can stay close to the ground and follow it up to that mission area. You come in it right where you put the dragon egg. I was actually surprised I did it but I’m promise I’m not lying.
