Like a kid in a candy store...love his excitement. I love all these crazy old analog industrial instruments and would totally freak to play on one as well.
he'll propably do a record using those noises and some toy piano and his voice and its gonna be once again something fucking amazing that im gonna be stuck listening to it for like 3 years. That guy is unbeliavable
They are right, it's a very expressive instrument, so very natural. Just from the look on Pattons face you can see that he really feels emotion in the sound.
God, I love this sound! I'd sure enjoy to play it as loud and wild as possible. My favourite part: the sneeze. What fun they had! Laughing my head off.
yes, along with Filipo Marinetti & Antonio Russolo in the 19teens with the instruments built by Ugo Piatti & Russolo (Luigi). his paintings are worth investigating, too..
@lecrapauddejerri9 They were a 'conceptual' instrument, created in the beginning of the XX century. Luigi Russolo, italian, tried to do music with noises, as the world was entering in the noisy modern era.
A sound recorder. At 2:40 he's saying "it's peaking the levels of the fucking recorder, I couldn't get it low enough" - as in he turned down the input volume on the recorder right down and the machine was still too loud to record cleanly.
@azzarogabbana I don't think you realize the history behind those machines and what the idea behind the futurist music movement is. I think you should read Luigi Russolo's Art of Noises letter. It might open up your mind a bit
Very cool, though of course woulda been a lot more interesting with some background explanation of these weird instruments, and/or a peek inside their workings.
Look up 'intonarumori', Luigi Russolo, the Italian Futurists and read the 1913 (!) manifesto "the art of noises". After that, be in awe. These are the acoustic fundaments of electronic music, sampling, noise and twentieth century avantgarde.
@@ednolbed Yeah, I think I've read a little about that, e.g. in relation to the band The Art of Noise naming themselves after it, but I haven't ever read it. Will put it on my list - thanks!
@Zegeebwah Just a thanks is good enough ;) As far as I know my kidneys are still good! lol..I have a Zoom H4n..I HIGHLY recommend it. But the microtrack is nice too.
im sorry but i love mike patton, mondo cane and especially FNM (and a little of fantomas and PT) but what is this? I hope this machine is for sound effects only because this sounds like a table saw...
Well, I am Patton's bitch as well. I love everything he's released and look for countless of interviews all the time. Just listening to someones fart just doesn't really get me off, you know?
Like a kid in a candy store...love his excitement. I love all these crazy old analog industrial instruments and would totally freak to play on one as well.
Mike is just thinking “Where is this gonna fit onstage?”
Lmao absolutely😂😂😂😂
he'll propably do a record using those noises and some toy piano and his voice and its gonna be once again something fucking amazing that im gonna be stuck listening to it for like 3 years. That guy is unbeliavable
Let's start a pool on the chances that Mike makes an entire album with this thing.
haha, if anyone could appreciate a noisemaker like that, it's Mike Patton.
pattons gonna release a 3 disk cd just with this instrument and his vocals over it - guest featuring dido
"dildo" would be more experimental...
They are right, it's a very expressive instrument, so very natural. Just from the look on Pattons face you can see that he really feels emotion in the sound.
He's a sounds hunter, simply.
Half the fun of this is watching these guys get such a kick out of it...they're having fun like a couple of kids.
Mike monster ❤
We demand an album Mr. Patton
just Intonarumori and your voice...
Sounds like there's a beast inside that machine and its hungry as hell.
True love of sound.
God, I love this sound! I'd sure enjoy to play it as loud and wild as possible. My favourite part: the sneeze. What fun they had! Laughing my head off.

at 2:52 you can hear Mike saying "Cazzo!"..that is like "Oh F@ck!" in italian.. :)
What a bizarre instrument. I can't wait to hear what Patton manages to cook up!
Luigi Russolo is the man behind industrial music
yes, along with Filipo Marinetti & Antonio Russolo in the 19teens with the instruments built by Ugo Piatti & Russolo (Luigi). his paintings are worth investigating, too..
It's amazing to know that there was an orchestra made of these.
@lecrapauddejerri9 They were a 'conceptual' instrument, created in the beginning of the XX century. Luigi Russolo, italian, tried to do music with noises, as the world was entering in the noisy modern era.
Mike Patton's a nice fellow.
Great stuff. Interesting to see these nosie machines in action.

Rule 34 on wooden boxes and music.
Mike Patton is the best.
A sound recorder. At 2:40 he's saying "it's peaking the levels of the fucking recorder, I couldn't get it low enough" - as in he turned down the input volume on the recorder right down and the machine was still too loud to record cleanly.

Damn, that's cool.
@azzarogabbana I don't think you realize the history behind those machines and what the idea behind the futurist music movement is. I think you should read Luigi Russolo's Art of Noises letter. It might open up your mind a bit
wonder if any of his recordings ended up in anything
Probably mashed up and hidden in some recording of Patton you've already heard.
He has a track called on an album called Orchestra of Futurist Noise Intoners
Intonarumori Orchestra.
Yup, it is probably 1 of millions of sound sets in his studio computer
Mr Mike is learning a new song to sing
Just noticed this video has transcribed closed captioning now (guessing translation) and watching this video with that. Try it.
ESTÁ EN SU SALSAAAAAAA
Very cool, though of course woulda been a lot more interesting with some background explanation of these weird instruments, and/or a peek inside their workings.

@Zegeebwah It's a Microtrack from M audio
That's a great Sunn O))) cover
I want two of each.
The sound reminds me of a really low note on a bass violin
It's like a Stuka sortie!
Sick
Fuck yessss!
@jakethegimp2 Would you define photography as just someone pointing and clicking a box?
2:27 When she isn't used to seeing one so she plays with it.
I'm not the one spouting memes.
"HEY EVERYONE LOOK AT ME I NEED TO BELONG SOMEWHERE"
At 0:35 he said "fuck" in italian (cazzo).
Nice!
@Thisismynameffs he already did haha it's called Pranzo Oritzo or something, but it wasnt that good :(
Well he does speak fluent italian
What sort of recorder is Patton holding? It seems to be a field recorder of some kind.
Toen jij hier laatst avonds net weg was, kwam opeens Faith No More live op tv met Mikie
@Infuzor :
I agree. Same for me. I don't care as long as it sounds strange/weird.

@Zegeebwah Just a thanks is good enough ;) As far as I know my kidneys are still good! lol..I have a Zoom H4n..I HIGHLY recommend it. But the microtrack is nice too.
Sure. But might be a nice sound collage if it was in tune with the rest of the song ... ;-)
Is anyone able to make out what kind of recording device Mike is getting those sounds with? I would love to pick one up and record sounds of my own.
Very Cool. Kind of sounds like a big ol' bomber plane from a world war II movie!
lol, yea i agree th-cam.com/video/p-KIAsuoMAQ/w-d-xo.html
rules one and two, Pate.

Mike is definitely making some sex face over this thing.
/b/rothers!!
@Catalyst2376 .....Get your story straight, Chumly.....Luigi Russolo invented the device in 1913 (Around 200 years AFTER your alleged date)
Lol, you could use that to cover Meshuggah.
Its just the lighting dude, it all black........:)

This noise makes me sleepy
That instrument makes me wish I had no talent.
You don't!

@ditroiamusic
I owe you a kidney mate!
Well, I am Patton's bitch as well. I love everything he's released and look for countless of interviews all the time. Just listening to someones fart just doesn't really get me off, you know?
