The Kyoto Senior High School Tachibana Principals must be extremely proud that so many of their brass band club graduates have chosen to continue playing together despite also living private lives. I read somewhere that 87% of the Japanese population can play musical instruments which means that only 13% cannot, either because they are too young to start or too old or too fragile. We say that Wales in United Kingdom is called 'The land of Song' but now I think of Japan as 'The Land of real Music'. O-Vils excel at their style of music and dance and are well on their way to becoming World Famous if they are not already. Speaking practicably it is most unlikely that I will ever be able to watch a live O-Vils performance, but I have been privileged to be able to watch them develop and grow from the start via TH-cam and I wish them continued success in the future and yet again I thank them all.
Loved Midori's vesion of Dave Brubeck's "Take Five", which was originally done in 1959.I liked the idea of playing some old Tachibana tunes with a "jazzed-up" feeling to them. I gues that this is the O-vils version of a "teaser"--leave the audience wanting more...much more. Arigato goziamasu!

ゆいなさんを見てるとカーリングのロコ・ソラーレの本橋麻里さんを連想してしまいます。
敢えて一からチーム作りを始めて、メンバー集めから資金集めなどご苦労が多いと思いますが、本橋麻里さんも創設８年目で平昌五輪でメダリストになりましたが、本橋さんも地元北見市を回り資金集めの為にスポンサー探しをして、企業を回って営業活動されながら練習して行きました。
ゆいなさんも一からのスタートは本当に色々と大変だと思いますが、オービルズを大きな木に育てて欲しいと思います。

There are many people who have negative opinions about the existence of a three-piece backing band and the addition of members other than "Tachibana. However, every time I attend an O-VILS performance, I feel that these people are essential to O-VILS now and in the future, in the creation of the O-VILS sound and, by extension, the O-VILS way of being. I think this should be well understood by the many fans who have continuously watched the evolution of Mita's works up to O-VILS.
Certainly there are fans who faithfully project "Tachibana" onto O-VILS, and there are those who compare O-VILS and "Tachibana" and are shocked by the "difference." There are those who compare O-VILS and "Tachibana" and are shocked by the difference.Such people are tempted to say, "The sound is too thin with such a small group," or "O-VILS only need girls," or " O-VILS don't need guitars and basses in the background".
Fans, especially those who call themselves core fans, tend to project their own (past) history of listening and viewing. For example, "That band used to be good, but now their voice has died out and the members have changed, so I don't listen to them anymore. This kind of "conservatism" is something that all fans have to a greater or lesser extent.
However, I think that we, the viewers, should understand that not only musicians like Mita, but also many other artists with great talent do not get involved in this kind of conservatism of fans, but rather get in the way and are not interested in it. This is because the conservatism of the fans and the conservatism of the artists do not necessarily coincide.
The fact that something like "Tachibana" is continuing in O-VILS now may have stimulated the conservatism of fans who expected "Tachibana" and led to the aforementioned criticism, but what Mita is aiming for is the one and only O-VILS, not "Tachibana. Even if we try to chase after the "one and only" thing like "Tachibana," such a thing will never exist in the future. This is because "Tachibana" is also the one and only.
From the so-called "Tachibana" to the O-VILS, the way Mita showed respect for the musicians she was involved with was truly amazing. And this has not changed even now. On the flip side, I can feel the trust and affection for Mita by those involved with her. Therefore, for Mita, there is basically no question of superiority or inferiority, good or bad, whether the musicians are involved in the past, the present, or the yet-to-be-seen future.
Please understand that this is a long text.
I completely agree with your views and opinions as such. I will continue to watch with a warm heart to see how Artist Mita and Team O-VILS will grow in the future after overcoming many difficulties. Thank you.

As you said, I think what we O-VILS fans should have is exactly a "warm heart".
I would like to add something.
I believe that Mita is a very talented creator. And I think what we O-VILS fans are seeing is just a glimpse of the process of the future vision that she has started to draw. The "now" is never a finished product. It is a great pleasure to be able to walk with her through the process of her vision of a future yet to be seen.
In any case, I believe that Mita's "cool head" has grasped all the uncertainties that fans seem to think.
Hi, I recall when Ms. Mita and the guitarist and bassist were the " opening act " for the main show. I suppose that they still do.
I don't need any bad guitar and bass!!
I want to bathe my whole body in high-quality and superlative music, without the guitar and bass sounds that are overflowing in the world.

Thanks for uploading! It was two very convincing performances of the band in October and also with the surprise that Komare plays the keyboard on the James Bond theme. She did that very well !!! Overall, you can make the band a great compliment for this performance! I am of course looking forward to the concerts in December. Of course I will watch them again via live stream! 👈👈👍👍😉
It was a fine concert! A big step up from the previous performance. The guest star Beverly was wonderful, too. I am only sad that I missed Take Five, because it was not included in Part 1 and that's all I could watch. Please consider publishing a set list ahead of time for the next set of performances, so we could be a little better informed.
Also, with the camera issues in the live stream I wish you could do an edit and publish the whole concert with a better video mix. I really liked what I saw in this short clip. I know you have the raw footage. ;)

O-VILSさんの活動って、橘の生徒さんたちの希望の星になると思います。・・日本全国の他の学校ではまぁ考えられない再集結の仕方じゃないですかっ。京都橘の方々が吹奏楽を自主性や想像力、オリジナリティを軸にした「エンターテイメント」として貫いてるからだと思います！
実は、世の中の「学校」自体もそうですが、マーチングバンドはもともとは "軍隊" ・・。根拠も特にない「権威」である上官から命さへ危ぶむ厳しい命令が下り、軍楽隊は規律のみを優先し演奏しながら敵陣に歩みを進めていく・・そういう悲哀と共に一糸乱れぬ音や動きをさせる音楽の悲しい歴史でもあるとずっと考えている者です。
そこにあって、京都橘さんのマーチングに出会って心から感激しました。京都橘はマーチングの悲しい歴史に革命を起こしてそれを継続している！反戦歌がテーマ曲であり、上官ではなく、スキルフルで魅力ある"先輩"から後輩が学んでいく練習姿勢、本当に感銘を受けます。
橘の生徒さんたちのダンスと楽器のスキルを卒業と同時に終わらせるのではなく、その先にまだまだ輝く未来がある・・！吹奏楽の新しい歴史が刻まれていくんだなぁと、羨ましく拝見(聴)する次第です( ^ ^ )
京都橘が宝塚音楽学校のような存在であってほしいと思う、O=VILSが宝塚歌劇団と同じように、 学校の目的は将来に役立ってもらうため、主婦でもいい、OLでもいいけど、しかし学校で培われた才能を最後まで伸ばしてほしいと思う。ファンの勝手な思いです。

@@clutchpedalreturnsprg7710 Komare sure did played the keyboard on 007. She even mentioned it herself on her tweeter account. All the O-VILS members are multi-talented and play different instruments such as Mitsuki plays the clarinet and piano and Mie plays the oboe and piano eventhough they are color guards.

横山先生が、「笑ってこらえて」のインタビューで「そのうちに羽根が生えてくる。」と仰っていましたが、マフランさんは２０１８年のローズから羽根が生えていました。そして、その羽根は今も進化し続けています。

I would love to see one of your performances live at some point. I still HAVE to fulfill one wish in my life, namely to fly to Kyoto and experience O-Vils and Kyoto Tachibana live. You are the best I have seen and heard in the past few years. I still sit in front of the TV with headphones for a few hours every day and am hypnotized by your music. Thanks also to the many people who have uploaded so many videos on youtube. And nice school girls become very pretty young women. Thank you that you exist. Warm greetings from Germany.
That was a brilliant show well worth waiting for and playing again. Whatever their religions, I wish them all A HAPPY, Prosperous and Healthy New Year. Are there plans for new shows in 2022, or was the cost of running this one forbidding or are the covid restrictions preventing their gatherings? Whatever is going on, I wish them all a happy future in their private lives and hope to see them onstage again as soon as possible.
