I practiced with him last 02/2010 in Tokyo, his style may look not 'polished' but that's the way you can see how he drives the uke down. He's just fabulous.
I have recently got to train with this amazing man, his Aikido is outstanding!...sooo relaxed yet unbelievably powerful! - definitely not 'Sloppy and a bit rough' as stated by Bigkittysmile
That he is. Taking ukemi for him is really hard, I found. But at the same time its fun, and an amazing learning experience. When he came to our dojo the other day, I just learned what he's doing with iriminage. Fantastic! His classes are always conducted seriously, but the training always ends with smiles and lots of sweat !
near-choreographed pristine kata? not sensei's thing. miyamoto shihan is an extraordinary aikidoka - highly fluid and very dynamic. lessons are an endless study in 崩し and 可能性 and that's the little bit he is showing here. nice ukemi teru くん.
It's a puzzle to me why so much Technique should be predicated on an opponent seeking to grasp your Wrist. and when done so, the opponent then refuses to relinquish their grasp as you execute the Circular movement that underpins the Response.
Takemusu - the martial recreation... Brilliant demonstration... usualy the demonstrations are too choreographed and lack "intent"... the martial aproach is usualy all intent...

Estaba mirando detrás al maestro Osawa, me parece un gran artista y persona humilde. Pude tratar con él cuando vino al Uruguay

What do you mean? Disaster? Why?
Have you ever moved with him?
I did. It's different, but I like it a lot.
And he is a very funny Guy.
