L/S Buckingham palace. L/S boys of the St. Marylebone cub scout pack coming out into the gardens at the back. Various shots as they walk along. M/S of them in gardens. It was because they did a lot of physical and ball games, including football which family knew I already hated at school, that my grandma cautioned against me becoming a cub and killed the possibility. fb nostalgia groups and Reddit are now 2 good sources of online posts on many folks' poor local experiences of cubs and disappointment compared to the ideal picture, and too much football recurs in them. I need to hold onto such evidence that my gran's info was right, because it was in the 70s so by depriving me of cubs she deprived me of experiencing the shorts which I would have loved and sorely benefitted from a social niche in, in a bad period for their popularity. I'm a high metabolic rate sensory issues type who always wears them. Gran could not yet know that when I was 7, and it was foully unlucky that I did not know at the time, or until long after the moment had passed, that cubs wore them. Never mentioned, presumably embarrassing, by the classmate who had joined cubs.
