I have an idea for a slightly different video! Instead of critiquing displays, what if you guys looked at a bunch of different very good displays, and broke down what they are doing that makes them successful in basic terms for people wanting to learn. I know you guys do this with usually one good display in each collection critique video, but I think we've seen a lot more displays that need help than not. Looking at a bunch of really good looking displays and learning how they pull it off Might help provide a bit of inspiration for collectors to try and adopt different techniques. I'm not saying just look at statues, I mean a variety of displays and scales if possible. Anyway thankyou for the content and love to see it!

I think too many people think detolfs are the bee knees for displaying. They are good for certain setups, but there is other displays ideas to do for bigger collections.
Mainly because they're cheap. They are easily affordable, glass, doors, and easy to light. All of these elements lend them to collectors.

The snowspeeder display : all snowspeeders and the snowspeeder helmet. (Which has changed since this picture) it is now the Falcon display with no helmets near it. The snowspeeder moved to a higher spot for flying display.
I'd like to see a dummies episode about the origins of your toy collection habit. What got you all into collecting toys?

I’m the guy with the Ultraman, Godzilla, and 40K stuff. He was right of myGodzilla stuff at the time. Along with several other things. Those pics are from over a year ago and some things have been settled and others haven’t. Still got grandma’s china cabinet lol

I added backgrounds to my detolfs after this video submission. So no more light coming thru. Moved a bunch of bots around. Looks better to me

Question for the community… I noticed IKEA no longer sells the older tv stands that many used to lift up their detolfs. I have one pair of detolfs raised and another pair that’s not raised.. I also have several Billy shelves around a corner.. anyone have advice for how to raise the second and additional pairs of detolfs to match ?

I have been an avid fan of your Collection Critique videos. I have taken some of your discussions and applied them to my first real toy room in 10 years, and yet there has been one question or maybe concern that I have. I rent a 2 bedroom apartment in order so I have the space for a toy room. It is in that room in which 95% of my collection from over the years is displayed. I would like to, maybe one day, when I feel it is "complete" submit my room for your critique. I already know which areas you may like, which you will dislike and maybe a couple will surprise you. Now this my long way to go about this is, do you take renting into consideration? I do not have the luxury of a basement or an office that I can take down walls and make custom cabinets. The basic rule I have is, I cannot make any changes that I cannot reverse when / if I move. So I feel adding an asterisks to renters might shed more light on the choices that were made.

For everyone asking, he only sent out a request for submissions one time in October of 2020. He got a LOT. So when they do 3-4 per show its going to take a while to get through them all. Years of content. Yes a lot of us have changed our displays since we originally submitted the pics. Yes a lot of you want to participate and send in. Only he knows if he plans to do another round of submissions and/or ask for updates from people. Just follow him on all the platforms and watch for it if it happens.
Busting makes me feel good but get that mikey out of that motu mix up shelf in the first dudes collection! 🤗

I think I should re-send my pics... it's almost a year now and haven't seen my display yet.. unless it's so bad it's not worth critiquing LOL
I think there are a bunch and they can only get to 3-4 an episode. They address this in early display critiques how there were dozens of submissions in just the first announcement for collection critiques.

In my opinion the only way were you can mix Legends with MP's and make them look good is when you display your collection as action figures and not as Transformers but it has to make sense. I don't know if I made myself clear so I'm giving a couple of examples:
1- Each Legends scaled character in front of his MP version in a completely different pose.
2- In the back of your display you place a group of MP Decepticons on the right and MP Autobots on the left running into each other to start a fight and in the front you display a group of Legends Decepticons and Legends Autobots replicating the MP's (the same exact poses) but you make them switch places, the legends Autobots on right and the legends Decepticons on the left.
If you choose to display your collection as action figures as long as you think things through you can even mix different types, imagine Marvel Legends having a nice relaxed conversation with your MP Transformers, the Autobots are talking with the Marvel Legends Heroes and the Decepticons with the Marvel Legends Villains. You may even try to match them up, either by abilities, personalities, color or build.
As long as you have a strong concept, if you know how to pose your figures and you know how to organize space and color everything is possible and will look good.
At the moment I have the cartoon versions separated from the IDW versions, the legends from the MP's, TMNT from Marvel, the series, the lines, everything is separated but the Lone Coconut Plunderlings are ignoring the rules of my display. It's like they're the only ones who, understanding were and what they are, can walk freely throughout my cabinets. Since they are Plunderlings they plunder, they steal accessories from all the other action figures, they are small and go unnoticed by all... or almost all!!! From time to time I display a small companion like Timber the Snake Eye's wolf noticing a Plunderling while he is stealing an accessory.
I try to create small narratives inside my displays, someone who is looking at them for the first time but actually knows something about the characters will notice them and will try to follow and identify them all. I think it helps making my displays more fun and enjoyable to look at.

I think the Fungolao display is going for a movie poster look. In 3D, it all looks like he's just taking a piss. But from a 2D perspective, it feels much more thought out. Especially the Devastator display.
Obviously, the last 2 displays cannot be taken seriously, dudes are using Beetlejuice Meteor for SS. Haha.
Re: Eddie's Cybertronian Alt modes. - They are oversized 3D printed models. Guy on thingiverse has them. I printed the jazz and BB....but not to this scale! LOL

14:00 That Nemesis is a mainline Rodimus Unicronus from Power of the Primes Generations. I have him. His legs are junk and he can barely stand or be posed. Bobby, you would trash it in a review
I think he was talking about the Nemesis as in the ship that was next to Rodimus Unicronus.
