@@JackDionne this song & maybe 2 another from his debut album is rock love but his sophmore LP was ok and not met with the same enthusiasm as his first. And, i too totally thought he was all that & more in '75-76... He played breifly for Humble Pie, but im not feeling Rock God Hall of Fame. not sure hes prolific enough for the Hall of Fame, up against the Big Boys ?? Certainly ,though, a couple great songs that will be remembered all our lives!! ~¤~ And, Peter is worth the great memories of those couple years in the mid 70s as a wild child !!! ♡
land otter1 , You got that right, for some it's all about the dollar, not for Peter....like Angus and Malcolm Young of AC/DC, he and they play because it gives them satisfaction, and enjoyment....the money is only part of it.
So very true. I remember my best friend giving me the "Frampton Comes Alive" album for my birthday in 8th grade. I wore that album out. I love every song and I couldn't understand why he didn't get the respect from the rock-n-roll community he deserved. I really didn't care, in my book, he was awesome and at 59 I still love listening to his music! So grateful I grew up during the 70's where the music giants rose and gave us some incredible music. Gone are those days! Thank God for mediums like TH-cam where these classic videos were captured (or edited to make seem real). Doesn't matter to me, they did a great job on this one and there are so many. I have created a huge 70's and 80's classics playlist! What an era it was and I am so glad I was smack dab in the middle of it all!
Not only that. This concert was probably $10.00 Our music now is now reserved for the entitled. One more observation... A lot of concerts these days, especially those with our favorites, are refined and perfected products. Concerts of ole were pragmatic, off the cuff... Let's try this... Peter Frampton trying to get crowd reaction... Lynyrd Skynyrd guitar marathon with three guys that are having a frigging BLAST! Alto Reed finding new ways to be suggestive with a saxophone... Now its... Here we are playing our song... You are welcome... That will be $500.00 please...
My god! The early 70ties were the best time for my. No problems, good music, good friends and nice girls and some good pot. I am now 62 but I still live as I was not become older. Greetings from Linz- Austria/Europe
Austria has the best 🍺, Wein is a pretty interesting city, Steigl? and Tucher? sorry 'bout the spelling, is slowly being brought to the U. S. really good stuff!cheers.
Thank‘s madam! 1984 I hitch hiked across the USA and I had a great time there. People were so friendly and hospitality to me. Incredible! What a good time I will never forget!
When I was a kid, (in the '70s) my mom had the vinyl version of this album and as a budding guitar player, I wore it out.It took me 20+ years 2 learn this song well enough to play all the way through with no mistakes.I was so happy that day! I also love "doobie wah" and "show me the way".
Music today isn't the same. This music takes me back to "my day". Life was basically good. Before worldwide Pandemic etc. But I remind myself that the ONLY real constant in this world is definitely CHANGE and if you are blessed, lucky, and aware you will also experience LOVE. Happy Father's Day people. May God Bless you and yours, and I pray that collectively we all focus on the good in today's world. Good outweighs Bad no matter what! 🤩💋😍
1976 ? Tulsa Oklahoma, outdoor concert was hot as hell. Frampton killed it! A guy walked up beside us, staggered and fell face first on a styrofoam ice chest. He stood up , bleeding and said " I'm not hurt, just fuuuuucked up". LOL, I will never forget the ride down highway 66
if anyone can find a better feel good album than frampton comes alive id love to hear it fat chance.ive listened to this album for over 35 years and it still inspires me :)
Wham with George Michael blows Peter Frampton away when it comes to feel good albums. Ever heard the song "wake me up before you go go"? Just shittin' ya
The most important song of the 20th century. It was the demarcation point between the sadness of Vietnam, and the beginning of the new age.. Framptom's message? "Time for joy, folks!" Thanks, Framptom.
@@curtbradley3384 I like the live version of that song much better than the original. In fact I pretty much have to listen to the whole Wings Over America album each time I want to hear one song as the album is that good.
The fucking bass line during the slow/quiet breakdown (D-F-C-D...walk back up to D and repeat) is fantastic...so simple, yet the more he plays it, the cooler it sounds. I remember having 10" woofers in my car in college (late 80s), and when that song came on, my entire car vibrated with the D-F-C-D notes, over and over again. My roommate at the time was listening to crap like Paula Abdul and that shitty, empty dance music at that time. He never understood what it was like to hear and feel rock the way it was meant to be heard. Not surprisingly, I didn't keep in touch with him after college.
Ok Peeps ,I partied HARD in 1976,when this came out I was 13 !!! Omg I am 56 now, I am surprised that I have survived!!! CLASSIC ROCKIN PARTY SONG,Who remembers 👂 that first bass note hitting and the speakers 🔊 sucking air in and out, Windows RATTLING AND SOMEONE FIRES UP UP A BIG FAT DOOB? I always loved zig- zag and EZ Wider strawberry rolling papers, I have good memories though and I travel back to 76 and walk down memory lane again 😁💯👍✌♥️😊
I was 13 also, living in Annapolis Md. I remember me and my two 13 year old friends with cases of beer courtesy of an older brother, out on the Chesapeake, driving one of the ski boats our families had (we were allowed out in the Bay solo), getting drunk as hell while fishing for bluefish and listening to Frampton Comes Alive over and over. We'd stay out long enough to more or less sober up before we got home, parents never had any idea. Although the Marine Patrol knew us by first name, there was that time they caught us climbing up one of the lighthouses and diving the 50 feet down to the water, then there were all those times we used our single skis when water skiing to completely soak everyone on board some motor-sailer or other. Yeah, the '70s were a fun, fun time.
I didn't start smoking weed until I was 16. When I was13, I "appropriated"the vinyl LP from my mom and played it loud every afternoon when I got home from school. (5th grade @ "mustang elementary school" in Tampa). I can't remember what brand of stereo my parents had, but I think it was a Panasonic or other "high-end" brand cause my Father was an audiophile and had a good job
Saw Frampton in '77 Anaheim stadium just like this show. They Brought the place down. Nothin' kan ever top this in my life. Thanx! Peter, Bob✝️, John✝️, Stanley for this Awesome concert. Consumate Professionals
A million thanks to my late aunt Lucy who gave me this double album when I was 11 and each record was gold sparkle coloured 🌹 11 years older but more like that cool older sister who kept you in line yet encouraged you to find your own coolness. Mine was learning on my dad’s guitar and hitting the road with bands at 17 in 1986. And this song is true! 😂 do you feel like we do? We in quarantine or global lockdown... I guess so
This was all I listened to when I was 16 in 1976...this along with Goodbye Yellow Brick Road, the Elton John Classic album...smoked a lot of Shermans too!
I'd love to return to 1976. I was a 21 yr old United States Marine stationed at Camp LeJeune NC. I wore this album (cassette) out, played it LOUD, in our Open Squad Bay. Loved Elton John music too. I go back to the 70s and stay. Heck, I'd even repeat my 4 yrs (1973-1977) in the United States Marine Corps. Greetings from Charleston, West Virginia USA ✌🇺🇸
Hey Bess, I was 16 in 1976! My brother had this album. I was into Zeppelin, Grand Funk Railroad, and Elton John. Some KISS. In fact KISS came to Fresno .CA the first time the day after Elvis died. August 17th was my 17th birthday. My first high school girlfriend was into Elton John and the Beach Boys.
My friends and I went to West Palm Bch, to his concert, but it was sold out when we arrived, so we sat outside and listened to most of it from there..1970's....
That guitar is called Blackie. Unique because it's a Les Paul with 3 humbucker pickups instead of the usual two. It went down in a plane crash with the rest of the bands gear on the way to South America ahead of the band. Like most crash sites they are raided almost instantly for luggage and the stripping of what ever plane parts you can get a hold of before help arrives. It was found out that somebody bought the guitar down in South America. But 30 years later it shows up and Peter confirms that it's Blackie and he has it back! What goes around comes around.
That's crazy but you know, I can see that happening to Peter. He plays like a master of Les Paul's and 3 hums.....His voice is unique and he was my older sister's crush along with so many teenagers and young women who enjoyed seeing him in those pink pants. It would be an honor to meet him, play some music/jam with him. I'm sure that would be in my dreams but it's something I would jump at if given the opportunity. He enjoys being so connected, everyone in the band has great talent and Peter would make sure you really got to see him and his bandmates sound incredible night after night. This song is, and will always be, one of the best songs played live. Maybe I'll see him at Guitar Center someday.......no, never happen, but keep on playing Peter, you are one hell of a Guitarist and singer that brought his positive energy on this night, this song, the audience who I'm sure were captivated, really digging the song, many for the first time were able to hear a good song in the studio become one of the greatist live song ever recorded.
Life In the 70’s truley was the best of rock and roll! Peter new exactly how to keep everyone smiling!!! So sad that music today really has no true point. How can you not love rock and roll? Seriously.
I saw Frampton in concert so many times because he was everywhere and because I loved his music. Three Rivers Stadium in 1976 with Dream Weaver and the Beach Boys. OMG what a concert on a beautiful sunny day in the 70's with no restrictions from policeman. We basically did whatever we wanted to until someone had a bad trip just like Woodstock. It was incredible. It was better then incredible. We had so much fun!!! When I am dying, I hope this concert flashes before my eyes super slowly. Love y ou Frampton.
Pure joy and happiness emanates from his guitar playing, and the happy smile on his face at the end! This country needs this kind of happy, positive rock again, we deserve it. The rest is crap and everyone knows it. A classic song!
I remember when this album came out.Double album and my family had a party to celebrate and the album was on display. These were the days.No cares no worries..just love and peace.I miss those days so much. What happened to our world? There was good times and every was happy...now we live in corruption and deciept.I would do anything to go back in time.

I am shocked he is not already inducted!
back in the day love it
@@JackDionne this song & maybe 2 another from his debut album is rock love but his sophmore LP was ok and not met with the same enthusiasm as his first. ♡
Frampton doesn't get the due he deserves as one of rock's Great guitarist!
land otter1 , You got that right, for some it's all about the dollar, not for Peter....like Angus and Malcolm Young of AC/DC, he and they play because it gives them satisfaction, and enjoyment....the money is only part of it.
But do you know where Peter was taught from????? Catch a band stealing to a collaborations. Solid right here!
You should be ashamed Peter!
I bet every one still make the sound like he does when he sings in his guitar
Just won't see concerts like this anymore. Something only the 70's could produce. This is passion for music...not money worship.
Peter Frampton finally got selected into the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame! Boutique time!
Doesn't matter how many times I watch this, I'm always left smiling and shaking my head. The pure joy.
Best of the millennia ☺️☺️☺️☺️
Certainly,friend and it's true,listen to it,it's pure joy.
I grew up in this era... and still rockin' this tune hard! ✌
have to smile, its amazing
My god! The early 70ties were the best time for my. No problems, good music, good friends and nice girls and some good pot. I am now 62 but I still live as I was not become older. Greetings from Linz- Austria/Europe
Stimmt , genau so war es !!!!!
The best. Today sucks in comparison. Good news is these little brats don't know what they missed !!!
"FRAMTON COMES ALIVE"!!!.............beautiful album!
Columbian Gold, Road Trip to NY State - and Frampton Comes Alive blasting on my 8 track - LIfe was good in 75
Yep exactly i fully agree with ya on that! That live performance he did sounds as fresh as it did back back then.
One of the best I've known
When I was a kid, (in the '70s) my mom had the vinyl version of this album and as a budding guitar player, I wore it out.It took me 20+ years 2 learn this song well enough to play all the way through with no mistakes.I was so happy that day! I also love "doobie wah" and "show me the way".
saw him live at the Miami Stadium in 77 and then again in 2006 , amazing both times !!!
Is there a special born-in-a-cave society where ppl come to great classic songs like this only to dislike? Good grief man
One of the best guitarists ever! He is highly underrated.
No, so many better than him.
@@crypto_bull still great!
It is because not many even know what there listening 😂 these dudes are legends

The 70's RULE....& this song went a long way to Prove That!!!
Justin Beiber and all of the rest can suck my sweaty bag.
A Timeles Masterpiece......One of the greatest Song ever.....Peter is a Genius!
if anyone can find a better feel good album than frampton comes alive id love to hear it fat chance.ive listened to this album for over 35 years and it still inspires me :)
Wham with George Michael blows Peter Frampton away when it comes to feel good albums. Ever heard the song "wake me up before you go go"? Just shittin' ya
havefunbehappy George Michael can only BLOW Peter Frampton!!!!!
Henry Keim He'd most probably love to too ;-0
Not better but another classic from that time frame and another "great feel good" album was Boston's debut album.
I started to regurgitate a little into my mouth until I realized you were joking!
Been listening to this song since the 70s it never gets old
The most important song of the 20th century. It was the demarcation point between the sadness of Vietnam, and the beginning of the new age.. Framptom's message? "Time for joy, folks!"
Thanks, Framptom.
I'm still in all after all these years listening to Framton comes alive album I'm a that kid all over again ... Thanks
Coming from Bolo
And from Americans
Yea man,Your comment seems right on the money $$$$ Looking back it was!!
Wow. Heavy man. Demarc point between Viet Nam? Put your Doors tape back in and stuff the bong.
That just never gets old. Simply brilliant.
NEVER, and I'm ONLY 59 years old
WOW wow and wow MOTHER @#$&+(
Man,...I was a freshman in high school, and summer was here, at the beach, parties,...Peter Frampton....
Class of '79! I was there.
The only live song to reach Number 1 in rock history amazing
Killer guitarist
Maybe I’m amazed, live version, by Paul McCartney also hit #1
As did coming up by mccartney in 80..live version
Your point is well taken..how amazing an artist is to have a live version top all of the studio songs of the day.
@@curtbradley3384 I like the live version of that song much better than the original.
In fact I pretty much have to listen to the whole Wings Over America album each time I want to hear one song as the album is that good.
One of the best ever live recordings of all time you can still feel the magic in the performance now in 2019 wow Frampton rocks
Hell yeah
Absolutely....
Part of that magic was recording it in the Fabled Winterland Arena in San Francisco...
@@Shivaho Yes...there was true magick in that place....
Simply one of the greatest rock songs in history. Especially live. A Guitar Hero.

and Best final of a song ever!!..it's right there with Ravel's Bolero!!
Bad ass jam, in fact the whole album is a classic.
yes
I had some dumbass trying to tell me it was average, told him to eat me!
THE....WHOLE...ALBUM.
Lmao u kray kray
OK Youngster. I am 66 in London next month and I just played this on maximum volume and it still sounds great 44 years later :)
Yes I turned 13 in "76" awesome time great friends good smoke oh Frampton good memories the pool everything was memorable love those days maximum
I guess so
I still love this song after years have gone by
one of the greatest songs of all time by one of the greatest artists of all time
This was all I listened to when I was 16 in 1976...this along with Goodbye Yellow Brick Road, the Elton John Classic album...smoked a lot of Shermans too!
I’m with you Bess. I sure need to burn one again.
@Rich Richiuso hi
Rich Richiuso 👍🏻
One of the greatest rock songs ever.
My friends and I went to West Palm Bch, to his concert, but it was sold out when we arrived, so we sat outside and listened to most of it from there..1970's....
So many times throughout my life....buzzed and HAPPY
I was 14 when the live tour was out been to many concerts since then still the best one I ever saw Nazareth opened up for him god I miss the 70s
I was IN LOVE with Frampton when I was 15 yrs old (1976)😍. This song is classic!
Doug:"Amazing story.Cheers!"
Saw frampton in Montreal in the 70,s incredible party energy - total buzz !
Love it
TRUE STORY !!
I loved your response! I'm convinced I was born in the wrong generation. :)

@Robert Fisher Was Spirit the backup band that night? My memory is getting a bit foggy.
Pure joy and happiness emanates from his guitar playing, and the happy smile on his face at the end! This country needs this kind of happy, positive rock again, we deserve it. The rest is crap and everyone knows it. A classic song!
The man plays even better today. And a great band he had!
I remember when this album came out.Double album and my family had a party to celebrate and the album was on display. These were the days.No cares no worries..just love and peace.I miss those days so much. What happened to our world? There was good times and every was happy...now we live in corruption and deciept.I would do anything to go back in time.

One of those instances where the live version is better than the studio version. Awesome!
Frampton Comes Alive Album was the best
I agree no doubt .
Sounding better than the Studio Live is the True Mark of Real Musicians.
And that didnt happen very often!!! Studio for most artists were the best. He never got enough credit, a true musician!
Larry N, the same can be said of another FM radio staple: “Turn the Page” by Bob Segar and the Silver Bullet Band. It’s posted somewhere on TH-cam.
A true Virtuoso...I remember hearing this when I was around 12 and loved Frampton ever since !Great player and made the "talkbox" sound like no other ....Cheers
The only other rock guitarist that I think is on par with Peter on the talk box, is Joe Walsh!
this guy is a legend...amazing incomparable guitar solos. He took this concert out of the orbit when Led Zep and The Who and the Stones were at the top of their game. This is bluesy rock in its highest quality!
Awesome video, editing, song, and performance! Thank you for sharing it!! 😊 🎸🎤🎹
