- The RedCat Monte Carlo RC Lowrider is really cool, but... the stock servos are pretty slow! So I fitted 4 Super Fast servos with a reaction time of 0.07s! It now bounces all 4 wheels off the ground! haha

Came for the lowrider, stayed for the bouncing seals
Hahahaha
I just came on my hand
I'd be willing to bet, if Redcat came out with a clear body for it, you'd see a ton awesome art work come out!
theres a Buick Grand National clear body on aplastics-rc, it should work as its 1/10 as well
@@Semtex199 I've seen that. It's at my LHS.
They got some clear body’s of the 79 Monte they just haven’t put em available to purchase for know I guess they waiting on all the clear body’s to arrived!!!!
Dont forget a 1/10 sct and alot of the drag cars have a 1/8 wheelbase. Redcat does have a rolling chassis kit though
They do it’s on their website
this would have blew my mind when i was a kid in the 90's. I was building them with small motors and fishing line in plastic models.
Nice!
me too and they sucked or i sucked at building them
Full-size "hoppers" generally have the back on full lock-up to hop the front end.
Yes, next job is to get it a little more controlled for a ‘full hop’
@@TomleyRC not sure if you remember the The Mods craze back in the 60s over in your neck of the woods, but it was a whole lifestyle wasnt, it? We did the EXACT "Mods" thing with lowrider bicycles over here. Anyhoo, this stupid car takes me right back to my wee days strollin' through Summertime.. i still have it in the box, inside the shipping box. inside the attic box. #LowRiders #BarrioLife #40Somethings
It's funny people from England enjoying low riders.
😅
When I was a kid I learned how to make these out of model cars with coat hangars as the chassis and suspension, electric motors and dental floss. Very few might know what I'm talking about
did you grow up in prison
@@spunchbib4599 LMAOOO
Well that worked out well! Awesome!
Those bouncing seals were hilarious 🤣🤣🤣
I remember buying Revell model kits, taking just the frame, wheels, and body, and wiring little 5v motors with a bent piece of copper wire, and a little remote battery pack we made out of our old 27MHZ RC receivers and using fishing string to connect the motor to the rod, and bouncing the cars up and down like that.
Haha… old school engineering
Mad thing indeed. Very cool. Just needs led underglow lights now
Yes 👌
@@TomleyRC a bit "pimp my ride" but wouldn't look out of place lol . Got a home for the servos you took off if up for grabs 😊
Thats cool. I like the dance at the end !
Great upgrades! She’s hoppin now!!!👍🏻🍻
Cheers Rob
Nice upgrade. A hard springs will inprove even more the bounce
You have reached a new level of something.
Laughing my bloody butt off all the way through this video!🤣😝😂 It’s freakin awesome! Phil!😆😝🍻
Haha.. cheers mate
The RC car’s getting excited.
Haha
That was epic
Look at that thing dancing 😄👍🏼
Nice I like how it performs with em servos !!! The 300 Reef’s servos are krazy they make the car go way to krazy!!!
More power! Great idea, would like one for my collection. Thanks man!
No probs dude
I use one of those 32kg JX servo in my EX07 for steering. Loads more responsive.
Yes they are decent
The dance!!😂
These things always seemed so dumb to me until I actually rode in one and started bouncing around. You can bet I was grinning ear to ear by the end lol. I dont know much about how full sized lowriders work, but this little rc looks like it has all the bells and whistles of the big ones.
Like the quick servos thanks for sharing just subbed
WOW DUDE SUCH AN AWESOME CUSTOMIZATION!!! KEEP IT UP DUDE!! LOVE YOUR CHANNEL!!! 😃🙏
Cheers dude
@@TomleyRC yay
Hello Tomley RC ! Great video as always 👌🏼! This Low Rider is awesome ! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Hi from V&b Speed a new rc community channel stop in say hi thank u ✌️
03:20 so much fun 😅😅😂😂
Awesome looking very nice
That’s one awesome lowrider great Quality thanks for a bit more inside to what it can do and what inside as can’t see much about them online great video 🤘🏼
No probs dude… a few more tweaks to come
@@TomleyRC look forward too seeing the tweaks. pimp my ride
Love the car hopping, I now want one to do the same thing and give to my son for his birthday, he be so happy. He going to cry happyness
cool, reminds me of Ramone from Disney cars
Pretty fantastic work, Tomley!!! 😂
It's much better now! It's fun as hell! 😂
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Cheers dude… it’s funny at normal speed haha
A smile for my Sunday morning 😁
Love that bunny hopping. Must learn this 💯💥💥💥.
Bloody brilliant I haven't laughed so much for ages! 👏👍
Haha… glad you enjoyed it
That looks so great in slow motion.
Redcat, often put down or laughed at by traxxas owners ...yet look at all the models that they have had that none of the big boys would have done. 15 years ago, rtr 4 wheel steer crawlers, 1/8 scale and then 1/5 scale crawler...1/5 scale electric, that 3 wheeled trike...the low rider, redcat has brought stuff to market that other companies haven't tried or before other companies did.
Looks awesome in slowmo!
I am laughing because you found a way to have fun with a car that is still!😅💪👍👋👋👍👋👍👋👋
Haha
Amazing mate looks awesome
🤟
Great build mate, very cool
Cheers dude
Freakishly wonderful!
Great fun!!
Been looking forward to seeing this since you put the photo of it hopping 👌
😎🤟
Lol. Thats insane 😳. Its like a jackhammer.. Well done buddy 👍 left a thumbs up 👍
Haha… cheers dude
Nice👍🏾great job😁
This thing is dope now that you fixed it haha. Great job as always mate bang on!!
Cheers dude
Awesome video mate!
Cheers dude
Thanks for another awesome video my friend great channel
Cheers James
THIS IS SOOO DOPEEEE
Quality videos of this car Phil yessss 😍😍😍👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Cheers Chris 👌
Epic 😂love it
You can get low profile servos which weigh a 1/4 less, for more bounce. cool
thats quite smart. It nicely hits the niche of ppl who likes lowrider culture but ain't quite dedicated to invest in a legit lowrider vehicle. Never really seen any official rc that's out of the box like this.
So much fun, i love it !
Wonder what the new D'mond servo's would do in this ???
this setup would be perfect for that Arduino kit that replicates pitch and roll so the car wobbles and rocks as you turn and stop etc. once cool lookin RC car
Hi from V&b Speed a new rc community channel stop in say hi thank u ✌️
two things. the views on this episode are ridiculouso! i had a feeling it would pop for you. nicely done, sir!
Yes, it’s done okay! Cheers dude 👌
Nice ride, love the jevries line! Would this servo be good for 8th scale vehicle like the kraton? Of not what would you recommend? Thnx! 🤘🏾✌🏾
I will def be purchasing one of these soon. When I was a kid they made a wired hopper like this but it wasn't full function all it did was hop. But sitting in front of my house playing with it was a fond memory of mine
Haha, awesome… I bet it was cool still
Your videos never disappoint.
Edit: perhaps repaint the body with killer pattern like real life
Cheers dude 😎🤟
Orale holmes, ruthless vato!
I wish I could afford this rc car… it’s so cool and they only have a few left in stock 😭😭😭
Cool RC and great review
Thanks dude
@@TomleyRC 😁👍
Plastic frame to the 32kg servo
I am joke for you?
Dude so funny, love it!
You did reply to me after the review video saying some faster servo’s mite get it hopping, awesome job 😎
Cheers dude 😎
"Still Dre featuring Still Phil" 😅 very Nice
Haha
Awesome👏💪👍
Great video!👏👏👏👏👏Question, why do you need to adjust the endpoints? Do you have to?
52nd and that's a pretty interesting RC car!
its Awesome car like DR DRY car great video MR Tomely good job👍
Thanks dude
Put a SuperScale 2020 on it! Those are perfect for this!
Question is: with all that clearance.... how good is it OFF-ROAD?!?
Hello from V&b speed a new rc community channel stop in say hi thank u ✌️
It’s shitty
Not meant for off road
Lmao... someone remembered a roadkill episode hahahaha
Thank you for the seals
😆 fun times 👍🏼
Hows the day buddy!! From New England here. Thanks for the knowledge. You seem like a good guy. I like the tamiya stuff even though I don't have any. Keep up the good work. Hoping to get the mt10. You have me sold on that ripper. Looks like a driver's basher.
Thanks Allen… the MT10 is awesome 👌
So much more realistic at that speed.👍nice work.make it into a drifter aswell that would be crazy drifting and jumping at same time lol
Yes, slow mo is the only real way to make it look like a real one. Maybe I need a brushless set up 👌
@@TomleyRC do it,do it,do it.lol👍👍
I just got my green one in yesterday right before you posted this video an all I could think was “Come on HOP one time”
Dope💯
Dropping it like it’s hot.
when it hops it reminds me of my dog when I get home =)
Haha yes 😅
Reminds me of the corded hoppers long time ago, we used to put 9v to em and they would hop 2 times as high as these do lol
Damn those where the days
Too funny! 👍
Those seals 🤣🤣
Can you bunnyhop up to a book or something while drive?
That’s a challenge I will be doing 👌
I still want a green one, lol👌😅😷👍
Looks so funny in full speed 😹😭😭😭
Now take it to a lowrider contest..... LoL 😂
while installing the servos how did you make the servo arms centered? i just installed my 209 powerhobby servos and i don’t know what i did wrong but the front suspension is messed up. whenever i go up on the hydraulic the height difference changed. comparing it to my brother lowrider since we have the same model, apparently mine is lower than his stock one. what did i do wrong? is it because i placed the servo arm wrong or is it because i need to tune the endpoints? i am very new on these rc stuff.
Reminds me of that mini game in GTA: San Andreas haha
Haha, yeah 👌
I bet the stock BEC is dipping voltage driving those servos get something like a castle BEC in there.
Yes, external one and it’ll probably jump better. That’s the next job… plus some better suspension
@@TomleyRC You are having a blast I am sure, don't mean to pry, the right front servo is out of sync related to the front. Also you can increase spring rate on said shocks stiffen them up a hair and she will be hoping like a gem. Yes BEC is needed along with a possible capacitor setup as well that way the esc will and should never fail. Cross your fingers, blessing keep having fun and watching some of the American redcat lowriding groups they are pushing out some amazing builds.
That car is just awesome. So cool, I completely get why you love it. The bouncing seals were a bit trippy!! 🤪👍🏻
Haha
next video, make it brushless?
Nice
I’ve actually got one of these myself. Haven’t had it up and running yet I have to admit.
I think the weight might actually be helping the rear get altitude maybe try more mass at the front for a test?
tomalley I recommend to make the rear up first then hop the front to make it higher, I don't know if the servos would allow it
nice car.
The only downside with the hopping is that the body is flexing just a little bit on the sides. Perhaps there is a way to brace it so it is more rigid?
Yeah, a bit of Velcro down the sides may help
Bro I am dying 😂😂😂😂😂😂 the bouncing animals 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Super cool.....
got my seal of approval (arf arf)
also: smaller/lighter motor?
Hahaha
Some preload spacers on those springs may help give a bit more bounce.
Yes I think they would
