I talk about what to expect as far as piercings, hair/skin care, personal hygiene, etc. It’s not easy being a woman, but Basic Military Training unfortunately doesn’t care lol. This is good for me because I have locks we normally we our hair retwisted every 1-2 months so I was gunna get my hair retwisted literally a day or two b4 I ship out so I don’t have to worry bout it plus bring my du rag n bonnet. Thank you for the info

Yes that will be perfect to get it done right before you go! And definitely bring your du rag and bonnet, just be ready to take it right off in the morning when you get up, I always got yelled at to "take that thing of my head!" in the early weeks lol.

The lady at my MEPS told me my straight back braids were fine they just needed to see my scalp. But to be save id just wear a low bun to make sure ur height is accurate 😀

Thank you love! And oh they will definitely work with you. You'll without a doubt get better while you're training in BMT, just try to prepare yourself a little beforehand so that you're not starting completely from scratch as far as fitness when you get there.

Wow! Very helpful and informative video. I would just need to make sure I have my braids before I go to BMT cause I twist my hair every night and there’s no way I could do that in BMT. Lol
I’m glad it was! And definitely girl, braids would be easiest to go in with. You’d have time in the later weeks to at least twist your hair on Sundays. OR just tough it out with the braids the whole time lol.
EbonyJasmin Okay yes! I will try to make sure to get that done and do braids cause I barely know how to maintain my curly Afro 😩 and my hair is superrrr thick so braids would for sure be my best friend. 🙂

Yes ma’am, just not in uniform so I wear my clear retainer during the duty day.

Hey, I came across your page because I’m currently doing my research to join. Watching this video I do have a weird question for you. What time are underwear are provided to you? As well as I heard you say something about skirts in your BMT video. Are we able to let the Sergeant know our preference when it comes to panties vs boxers or skirts vs pants or shorts?
You bring your own undergarments to BMT so the choice is completely up to you! Just try to keep the colors neutral.
Heyy! What about sun block? Do they atleast care for you not to get skin cancer lol
Yes ma’am they actually do give you sunblock to use! Just not your own, it was provided by them and it was like 4 bottles that we all shared lol.

Yes ma’am whole body. And lol yeah it’s a little awkward but it’s SUPER fast, just don’t think about it and let them do what they need to and it’s over in a second!
Do they check closely for scarring?
How do you wake up earlier? Did you have an alarm or did you just like wake up?
The MTI’s come into the dorm screaming and yelling for you to wake up lol. But I also had a watch that had an alarm but most nights it wasn’t very helpful lol. No alarm clocks or anything like that though.
Ohhh you meant waking up early on our own to do stuff! Yeah we would just wake up. You’re usually not getting a great nights rest anyways, and there’s shifts people take throughout the night to “guard” the dorm so there’s always movement going on. It’s not hard to wake up a little early if you plan to.

I don’t remember being told that we COULDN’T but it was a suuuuper long day and we had to get up at like 4am so you probably won’t even feel like doing it lol.

Hey sis, ABSOLUTELY. lol, you just have to be careful but there are so many ways.

Alexis Ford I’m trying to hid a couple like my tongue an belly button and top right ear 😂 I got retainers they’re clear piercings! But when we go to shower we’re gonna have to take them out like for me my belly button an for you your nips you gotta take them out so they don’t see an then right after put it back in, from what I keep seeing cuz everyone’s gonna see you naked and you don’t want anyone seeing you try to hide them cuz they watch you shower ☠️ if you’re like me an your piercings tries to close fast use Vaseline get a little tiny tube of it it helps lubricate the area and you can put the piercing through easier I had a piercer tell me that!
