Through the whole portrayal of Suranne Jones, I don't think I've witnessed anyone within the human race that's expressed that much vulnerability than Anne Lister. I don't think a lot of people understand how much strength it takes to be THAT vulnerable...To admit and verbally speak their heart of the fear and fact that they don't feel strong ALL the time. Along with other things, whether it be expressing happiness, anger, joy, fear and so on. Most MEN can't even admit that. Vulnerability is NOT a weakness, men. It's a strength.

Truly amazing and Sally had such a wealth of information to go on, which is so rare. And, this helped every scene to be so real.

I love the moment she sees the pin, too! It's such attention to detail that she's never wearing the pin in the moments when she's doubting her relationship with Anne. AL even brushed her thumb over it when they said goodbye before Ann went to Scotland. It was an acknowledgement that she knew Ann didn't want to leave and was trying to feel Anne close to her in some way.
The kiss, the music swelling, the pan out to show the majestic scenery...THIS is the happy ending, the epic romance that we NEVER get. I am HERE FOR IT.
OK, is it really really bad that I actually had tears while watching this for the first time? We all bawled our gay eyes out. And I cry every time I watch this scene. Never in my wildest imagination did I think we'd ever see Jane Austin for lesbians. The sweeping romance is overwhelming.
Elizabeth White it really is. In so many shows, I feel like they focus on the sexual aspects. While there’s nothing wrong with it and while they do it in the show, I think that what’s really important here is the emotional and romantic development between the two women. And I also just fucking love how this is based on a real story of a real woman in this time period. It just fills my heart with joy every time I think about it! Such an inspiration!

Move over Pride n Prejudice, this is 2x better in story line, acting, music, it has comedy, drama n above all Romance. Very good acting by both lead actress. Best epic series I've seen since PP, Gr8 Expectation. A must watch, highly recommended.

Suranne Jones is a really good kisser like Sophie Runder is so lucky. This is the best thing to see on my feed and a real couple no less who defied social norms to be together! They lived for almost a decade with each other, until Anne Lister died of a fever at age 49. They were certainly a passionate couple, they had a lot of fights,, but still manage to reconcile. They reconciles a year and a half before Lister died. Its such a shame they didn't enjoy it longer!
In Suranne's twitter page, she said "Meet my Wife", "I'm already in love" in which you'll see her and Sophie Rundle at the table read. So I think, Suranne is luckier because she got what she wants thus you see how she enjoys kissing her co-star 🤣 Oh well, Sophie's not complaining either because you can always hear her moans! 🤣🤣🤣... Suranne Jones is a really good kisser like Sophie Runder is so lucky. This is the best thing to see on my feed and a real couple no less who defied social norms to be together! They lived for almost a decade with each other, until Anne Lister died of a fever at age 49. They were certainly a passionate couple, they had a lot of fights,, but still manage to reconcile. They reconciles a year and a half before Lister died. Its such a shame they didn't enjoy it longer!
In Suranne's twitter page, she said "Meet my Wife", "I'm already in love" in which you'll see her and Sophie Rundle at the table read. So I think, Suranne is luckier because she got what she wants thus you see how she enjoys kissing her co-star 🤣 Oh well, Sophie's not complaining either because you can always hear her moans! 🤣🤣🤣... Right?? The show can only really have around six seasons or so because Anne Lister got together with Ann Walker in 1834 and then died in 1840 ... It's not going to be a very long-lived show. Then again, most lesbian-driven shows aren't haha

Yeah, i mean, I didn't read the diary yet but I read a bit about her and Ann Walker's story. Ann struggled with depression all her life, as far as I know. I suppose there will be drama and sad moments and also great scenes like this one. Oh, well i hope so.
