I actually don't agree on the fact that M-Tech and B-Tech get the same placement preferences. The preferences are there. And I know it from the recruiters biases as well. For core vacancies typically with and R&D version of it, M-Techs will be preferred. Although there are so many companies related to finance / consulting which will only look out for B-Tech from IITs or MBAs from IIMs. So I have seen and experienced preferences depending upon degree solely. I could have talked about the B-Tech as well but limited my discussions over m-tech since I didn't do my B-Tech from IITs.

Non core try Kar lo mile toh. Core me growth slow hai.Coding Karna chalo rakho. Agar opportunity mile toh licensor company like shell uop lummus Ka interview crack karna. They pay around 6 to 7 lpa. Ps: I scored air 289 and already working in O&G multinational as process engineer.
Civil has lesser number of core companies relative to other branches, but infact the placement opportunities are good enough to place 40% of students in core.

Civil has lesser number of core companies relative to other branches, but infact the placement opportunities are good enough to place 40% of students in core.
I will be beginning my Mtech from next month onwards what are the things to do so that my probability of placement increases?

Hello sir, I am going to join IIT KGP For Mtech from thermal and fluid science, how is it placement?
Placements are good in IIT Kgp! But it is mechanical core branch. So options won't be as much as in other vanilla branches
