Amazing work, well done i'm now going to have a go at fixing my own sofa. I was very sceptical on repairing my sofa but hopefully after seeing you doing it I can have a go with confidence. Thank you for your video
I had the same problem with a pair of leather dress shoes that were stuck together after years in storage. When I pulled them apart, the leather peeled in a few spots.
This work with leather car seats? Problem is I have prefforated leather car seats and in areas some of the top layer is worn out...not torn, but worn out and peeled.
WOW, great HOW TO. I am in bad need for a repair kit for fake/bonded leather just like this. Gonna go with a different name brand since this company made enough money on me having sat through 5 ads in one 12 minute video.
I have done this but after I put a sealer and everything it rubbed off when I was driving an hour. When water drops on it it’s so terrible should I put an oil over it like Vaseline or anything else to prevent this from happening
Hello, we have never heard of this before. Are you having issues with our product or with some other companies product? If you follow directions properly, there’s no way this can happen other than the fact that perhaps you didn’t let the dye or the sealer dry completely.? If you did order products from us, you can send us some photos of what you are doing, and we would be happy to inspect those images and come up with a quick and easy solution for you. You can contact us here: www.leathertouchupdye.com/bicast-leather-repair-contact-us/ Applying an oil or a Vaseline over leather is not a good idea as it over oils the leather, causing the leather to lose strength and rot overtime, and the surface will become a dirt magnet- attracting all dirt and causing the Leather to eventually crack in areas. Hope this helps. Thank you for choosing a LeatherTouchupDye.com.
LMFAO so wanting to sell their kit and a big FAIL ! Throw it away and buy new ! Your first mistake was putting the dye and that filler was a big waste ! Never fixed it
Would this work on faux leather too? Dog got to one of my black knee high boots. She didn't puncture the material but some of the black finish came off where her teeth had grabbed it. The spots look just like the spot in the video.
I have a painted leather suite. The leather is real leather which has been painted with some kind of leather paint. The paint is peeling off. Do you know the best way to stop this from getting worse?
Hello, this is a very good question. We could warranty our products if we knew that the surface of the leather was perfectly clean and prepared to accept our leather repair products. If the surface of the leather has heavy body oils or supersaturation of past leather conditioners, it will impede our dyes from adhering properly. If the adhesion of our dyes has been compromised they may wear off prematurely. Also, if an area is peeling, the loose peel must be removed to provide a solid foundation for repair prior to applying our leather dyes. There are many more variables, but in a perfect world If everything was perfect, we could definitely warrantee are dyes for 10 years without peeling or cracking. We have many pieces that we have done professionally for customers that are over 25 years old and still look great. However, those customers have been educated on how to take care of their leather, using our Leather Cleaning and Protection kit: t.ly/_P97A So in closing, we always say the repair is only as good as the foundation that it lays upon. Thank you for choosing LeatherTouchupDye.com
I've got a bigger job with some leather couches that someone gave to me the other day, I'm not sure about the amount of your kit because it's 3 leather couches as set, and I don't know how much of it that I need, and the color is brown colored but in sections like all 3 couches are peeling on the arm area's really bad, so is there anyone I could show the damaged leather with some photo's📱to help me save these lovely set of couches before they get any worser, please note they all are a very nice peace of furniture that could be saved, SOS please help me figure this out thank you.✌🏾

Have anyone bought any of these products before??? they're a little too expensive I want to make sure is worth to spend more than $100 to repair small peels from my leather couches
I have a question, I was dyeing a leather belt and my cat knocked over the bottle of dye. This was in the kitchen, I managed to clean it off of the floor, counter, and cabinets but I can't seem to remove it from the front of my dishwasher on the metal part. Do you know anyway to get it off? I really need to know as I live in an apartment complex.
+MagrodNYGirl We highly recommend NOT applying any other manufacturers dyes on our leather filler or mixing ANY OTHER manufactures products with ours. All of our products are formulated to be fully compatible with each other and are totally unique to anything else on the market. Our products are state of the art water based technology and many products on the market contain solvents, oils and waxes that can negatively affect the performance of our products. Hi: Will any of your products work on Lazy Boy's Renew leather? I bought 2 reclining sofas that they said were real leather - and they are, but they are made with leather that has been recycled. I was never told it would peel off. One of the sofas is peeling terribly; it is only where I sit. I live alone so that is the only place. It looks awful. I called Lazy Boy and they told me to call the furniture store where I bought them 4 years ago. She said that they would peel and there is nothing I could do and suggested I cover the sofa with a fabric. I cannot believe it. She then suggested I call a leather repair man. Please tell me if there is something I can spray or paint on the peeled area. The rest of the seat is peeling but not bare like this one spot. Pleae let me know what you think. I sent a contact email to your website yeaterday so please let me know either on your website or here. Thank you, Ann
Ann Cappola. Around 2010 everyone started importing cheap bicast engineered leather. That is where a very thin sheet of leather skin is glued atop a backing of fabric or chopped leather (particle board of leather). Often the skin isn't even split leather but very thin vinyl (like saran wrap). That eventually splits as the China glue just turns to powder. It is not leather by any definition and was a complete scam. LazyBoy, Ashley and especially Rooms To Go. They won't stand behind their product and expect you to just recover at more than the cost of the chair. You really can't fix that. I saw a lady once completely remove the skin and rough it up as suede. That was a lot of work. Just throw it away and consider yourself having been robbed.
Thank you, S Tho, for your response. I had no reservation about buying the 2 sofas because they were made by Lazy Boy, and I remember what a reputable brand they used to be. The furniture store I bought them from is also a high-end furniture store. I feel so cheated and disappointed. Thanks again for your reply.
@@Missann360 , I feel your pain. I bought a gorgeous "leather" sectional from a high end store. Paid quite a bit for it. It lasted between 4-5 years and began peeling. I couldn't believe it.
I was going to use this on an experimental project over a small area, but then I see I need to buy the Filler $40, and the dye, and the sealer, or the $188 SMALL kit. This is Seriously overpriced IMO. I'll find another option no matter how many videos you post.
Looks simple enough. I need to repair a jacket. This method makes the most sense. Thanks so much!

Great video! Wish me luck! My dogs liked to brush against our leather inlay footboard and it is jacked up and flaky.
That was a great video now I just have to figure out out the right color for my couch
Yes - absolutely- the vast majority of leather that peels is Bycast or Bonded leather.
