- Namibia 2015: Silent Words - Sing out loud: performs with Waldorf School Windhoek at Warehouse Theatre, Windhoek, Namibia // Directed by: Simone de Picciotto, www.hit-the-beat.org
HIV Prevention Performing Arts Project - Silent Words - Sing out loud. A Production by Hit the Beat together with Waldorf School Windhoek performed at Warehouse Theatre, Windhoek, Namibia. Special Guests Gonzo N Friends. Sponsored by PEPFAR (US Presidents Emergency Plan for AIDS RELIEF).
75 pupils worked for three weeks and put together an amazing performance of Choir, drumming, dancing, acting, stick fighting and garbage music. It's all about rhythm, which unites students of many different cultures and aims to overcome cultural boundaries, and hopefully build friendships that will eventually lead to a promising future. The entire project was part of a HIV prevention project during which the learners tried to put their thoughts about HIV into poetry, dancing and music, at the same time building self-esteem skills with various artistic actions. The message going out is very strong: if we take responsibility for our life then we are unstoppable!
Therefore in the words of Nelson Mandela:
"What counts in life is not the mere fact that we have lived. It is the difference we have made to the lives of others that will determine the significance of the life we lead.
We can build a society grounded on friendship and our common humanity - a society founded on tolerance. That is the only road open to us. It is a road to a glorious future… Let us join hands and march into the future. "
Nelson Mandela
