    I figured it protects their eyes. I ALSO figured that YOU know more about how to care for them than I do. And I like the "bangs". Hamish reminds me of a 2000lb muppet.

    Crazy thought -- maybe, just maybe, the guy who's caring for several of these creatures for a living knows more about their proper care than the layperson on the street.

    • @Ghilannugs
      @Ghilannugs 3 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      Just to clear something up here, not ALL animal features are there for a reason. F.ex. common sheep have been bred by humans to constantly grow more wool, so if left alone they'll straight up die from having too much wool. So when it comes to domesticated animals things can vary

I have been close to some cows in the Alms (relative's farm and such, don't get close to cows you're not allowed to) and in the summer especially the flies would always try to get to their eyes. No matter what the owners tried, there would always be some flys there.

    There's fringes to put on horses to keep the flies out of their eyes, and I figure that as here in Scotland, we have a lot of wee biting insects and flying insects that could annoy a cow by getting in their eyes, that Highland Cattle were deliberately bred to have a 'fringe', plus it's raining hard RIGHT NOW as I watch this, here in the Scottish Highlands, and the wind is blowing, although not too hard - if you take into consideration where they're bred for, they make perfect sense.

    I love these animals. I am so glad you at least inform the idiots about them, like their horns, & their coats.

    I love the way his head twitches when you hit a sweet spot. "Oh, yeah, right there!" The hair protects their eyes from injury & dirt...Love his chewing...chew-chew-chew, swallow, pause, "urp!", chew-chew...😂

    Some people just don’t understand why, animals have certain types of things like longer hair over their eyes. Your dealing with domesticated animal lovers, keep doing your thing my brother, it’s a pleasure for us to watch ! Great stuff !

    As soon as you said there was a reason for not cutting the hair over their eyes I guessed why 😊

    I have heard that many animals have excess hair to help with extreme climate challenges from their native lands. It is sad many others decide to be ignorant and fuss before actually learning. Thank you for the explanation, and I appreciated your time sharing with us :)
