    Let me know what you think of this new format for an extra video every week. And have you ever had mystery leaks?

    Beautiful setups. The Hoplarchus Psittacus are much more aggressive than people think. They don’t run from hardly any fish, and very territorial. My three even harassing my pike cichlids. I wish I could do the cinema photography and production as crisp as you do.

      Interesting! I haven't read that about them, but he definitely isn't afraid of anyone. He moves so slowly, seems like something like an Oscar would have the upper hand. Thank you!!

    David,
    Great video I love this. But I disagree with the geophagus altifrons. I think the AC heckali is very pretty I have one and he is growing pretty fast at least I think so. The key to get those geos to grow is feed them and water changes. That is what I heard anyway. I love San Quentin. I love those CA and SA cichlids. I also got a black tiger Oscar. He is growing out in my 55 gal right now cause he’s to small to add to my big aquarium He eats a lot even for a little fish right now. He is mostly black and some red spots. He is so cute and personable. Are you sure that the fluval 407s aren’t leaking from underneath the filter. The bottom might have a crack in it. Appreciate the videos and love the fish. I finally got a canister filter for my big tank. I got a SunSun HW 3000 it’s pretty nice and holds a lot of media. Way cheaper than a fluval they are really expensive.

      We will have to agree to disagree on the AC heckali vs altifrons beauty contest lol. Isn't it insane how fast those Oscars grow?? And mine can eat those huge monster pellets at only four inches. About the leaky filter, I don't think it would be a crack on the bottom because it hasn't continued to leak. Who knows, I could be wrong. Thanks, Jeremy!

    Could the canister filter have a leak or cracked, your geophagus tajo look amazing.

      @CichlidCharmer  8 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      I think if it had cracked, it would have continued to leak. But maybe not? I bet it's the o rings and it leaks after a shut off and back on. That's what another viewer suggested. I'll order some replacements and see

      Awesome! Thank you. So they can both be jerks, but the Jakes are very, very, VERY likely to be. They have gorgeous fins though. I swore off Jakes early, and finally almost all peacocks.

    How to clean Driftwood gel ? Sir make A separate video?❤
    That's why I can't keep driftwood in the aquarium because something like gel gets formed in the driftwood inside my aquarium and it looks very weird.

    • @CichlidCharmer
      @CichlidCharmer  8 วันที่ผ่านมา

      So I'm not exactly sure about a gel, but it sounds like you're experiencing driftwood rot. My driftwood in my apisto tank started to get really soft, and someone mentioned that I need some things in the tank that will eat the rotting driftwood. Get a pleco or two, some nerite snails, a red tail shark, etc, and they will keep that driftwood fresh.

    Hi mate, new cat is gorgeous, so are your fish tanks. My strigatus is playing up also who has both eyes, he’s stopped sporting his breeding dress yesterday and has calmed right down now. He is on the 3-5-4 inch size so might be an issue down track. Most of my fish are 5-7 inch except my hawk is 8inch and fusco 12 , clown loach is 7-8 inch also.

    Hi New Cat, you're gorgeous, aren't you? I like all your videos and how you mix it up on the presentations just do what you do man it's all good. Have you figured out the leakage problem yikes, that would cause me nightmares the only leakage I had was when I found water all over the carpet from a bad seal but that was an easy find right, but not that clean up and panic. All your fish are looking so great getting their colors on and I'm still very jealous of your Salvini mine hasn't put his colors on yet and still is a dud even being the tank boss in his kingdom. Thanks again for a great video!

    • @CichlidCharmer

      The leakage might be from an o ring, even though I lubed it. I am going to see if turning it off and on causes more water to leak, like another viewer mentioned. But AFTER I get the replacement o ring lol. Thank you, Polly

    Is a sump suitable for a 183-liter Malawi cichlid aquarium, or is a canister filter better

  • @dadthings167

    New format is pretty cool. Just dont burn out...i am having the same issue with my 407s. I am actually about to go and change the o ring to see if that fixes it. I discovered it during a power outage and my water sensor was sounding. The leak was under the 407 emblem on the motor head. I recreated the issue by unplugging the canister. When it was running there were no issues but as soon as i took the power the water came from under that emblem. Like you, this canister was out of commission for a little while before i put it on a new project. I thought the oring just dried out so im going to replace it with a new and test. Im also going to get a bigger bin to put the canister in. Its in a five gallon bucket which is really just a gallon after the canister takes all the space 😅

    Don’t feel pushed to do more than you can or easily have time for. I think if we can all just relax and give our best it shows and ultimately the two lack qualities of one another. This being said don’t let me stifle flare, I love watching your videos and seeing your fish because it’s so different from what I see on the day to day. I might also be a little lacking in friend department myself but it’s not that I don’t think of highschool now and again, stupid stuff but my friends are all either in cages, submerged in water, wear collars or are forced to live a life of being given everything they need lol. Best part I find is that they don’t complain! 😂. You have great tanks filled with beautiful life, sharing is always a treat. Fluval sometimes can’t be trusted although I hear they are THE best, a box is a box I say, what’s in side makes it work. Just stay on the side you want to share and I think all your content will shine! I would make a list of things and ideas you notice week to week and share why it’s good, important, interesting, worth a question, new, unique. Even fun facts about your fish or tanks or even products used. I would do that personally but I’m always moving so my list would just get lost 😂. Remember we are more capable than we know, stay happy and healthy my friend!!! 😊❤

      Thanks for the encouragement, Will. I love making videos -- I actually like it even more than keeping fish if you can believe that. Weird I know. It's one of my creative outlets. Fish, photography and TH-cam. It's disappointing to me to not release weekly, and my Refresh videos I am less strict with, so I don't have to try to be a perfectionist and they can be shorter. Shouldn't be a problem. You sound a lot like me, my friend. Always glad to hear from you.
