Okay, but Sukuna's punishment for breaking his binding vow being that whenever he opens his domain, Gojo is in said domain and kicking his ass, is hilarious to me.
It doesn’t make a clapping sound. It vibrates and rattles when hit or shaken. Think of it this way… one clap equals one clap. Each hit of the vibraslap continues to rattle really fast. Each noise of each rattle is equal to one clap. He doesn’t have to continue to strike for the pieces inside the box to continue to strike and rattle.
Yeah idk whose translation he’s reading but the one I read mentioned “metal teeth “ inside the wooden box & every time one of those teeth hit the box or just as you said, “rattled” it was like a boogie woogie clap & thus how he was easily able to do 50 swaps a minute It also explains how he was able to use boogie woogie with the bandage. The bandage was really a handicap because it assured that the metal ball was constantly touching the box, so all he really had to do was shake the vibra-slap while bandaged
@@shantel903 yep that was the translation I read too. As that is usually how that percussion instrument is used. I also thought that the bandage was so he could use it at a lower rate. So the bandages lessoned the vibrations of the instrument meaning he could switch at a more controlled rate.
There are essentially 5 forms of binding vows, 3 "imposed on oneself": - Binding vows made with someone else. You do X and I do X, if you break it, the consequence can vary. An example is Mahito/Kenjaku's vow with Mechamaru, and kenjaku's binding vow with Sukuna. - Heavenly restriction. The world takes something from you and buff the rest in exchange. There's no punishment for breaking them, but it's unclear if you lose what you gained from it - Binding vow with oneself that can't be reverted. Miwa binding vow, Sukuna's WCS binding vow to use it without chants and Mei Mei bird strike are great examples. There's no punishment from breaking them since you can't, because you wouldn't be able to lose what you gained from it - Predetermined binding vows with oneself. Nanami overtime's vow or Curse Naoya's durability for example. These are made in advance and are constantly active, but they can be broken in exchange for temporarily losing their effect - Spontaneous binding vows. Gojo switching around the conditions of his domain and Sukuna's open domain goes there. You restrain your own abilities on purpose one way or another to make them stronger. This is what Todo's vow is. In exchange for only swapping once every X claps, he increases the potency of his ability. He could, for example, clap 50 times in a second and only swap a single pair, but at super long range, or several pairs at the same time (the latter is kinda useless though). Again, these are made on the spot, you can just stop limiting yourself and lose the buff. Binding vows grant their buff based on some unknown repartition of raw value and subjective value. Hakari cutting his arm off, for example, granted him an extra amp since it meant he would lose the ability to expand his domain, but even though Miwa sacrificed her ability to ever wield a sword again, that attack was still limited due to Miwa being a weakling. Todo takes advantage of the former. Even if it's useless, he COULD swap someone with every single one of his 50 claps a second, but not doing it and instead only swapping people with 1 of these claps, he greatly increases the potency of his CT. It's similar to bird strike, the birds are "subjectively" worthless due to being birds, but objectively, sacrificing a life is the greatest possible binding vow, so it hits like a truck
@@SuperFizzah I'd like to see a breakdown between improved boogie woggie vs the animation technique (forgot what it was called) broke seconds into "frames" was the second fastest behind gojo.
Something I think that gives the revival theory a stronger base is that Gege loves to borrow ideas from other Anime’s. He obviously changes them up when implementing them, but the inspiration is clear. As this guy mentioned earlier Binding Vows are clearly inspired by HXH with their Nen Contracts. There’s also the Domain Expansions which are influenced by YYH’s Territories, and so on. Now there’s one technique that allows you to revive from the dead at the cost of an eye (it does more than that, but it’s unimportant for this theory). This ability can be activated long after your death, and requires special eyes to do it. Any Naruto fan should be thinking about the Izanagi and specifically the moment Madara used it to revive himself days after dying to Hashirama where he became the Ghost of the Uchiha. So there’s a very real possibility Gojo’s revival and subsequent loss of an eye is inspired by the Izanagi. Conveniently enough Madara also lost his right eye and had a similar resurrection panel as Volume 26’s Cover. Now that can all be a coincidence, but like I said Gege really makes his influences fairly obvious.
Just want to give a shout out to nick for the sponsor segment, I was actually curious about your necklace too and I really like it, and I've been watching your videos a lot lately while also trying to do some working on myself, and seeing you wear that in all your videos gave me the confidence to try to start wearing little accessories and stuff, because I had always been too self conscious to do so. I've been wanting to try and work on my personal image to help with my self confidence and I wanted my look to tie into things I like so I got a necklace with a hunters license charm on it and I've been wearing my grandads watch lately. It’s worth noting that a vibraslap, when hit once, bounces the ball of the wooden piece multiple times and makes a rapid clicking noise. The way I took the binding vow was it doesn’t cause boogie woogie to activate for every single click, only about 50 of them, which in turn exchanges the number of switches for the ability to use it on multiple targets at a wider range.
I don’t see the problem. Curse tools have kinda always made CTs better. Nanami had a CT that he mainly utilized through his blunt blade instead of his hands. Addition by subtraction=peak sorcery
Your right. Especially since todo never specifically needed both his hands to use boogie woogie. He literally slapped mahito's hand to activate it after his other hand got cut off. Seems like his CT has something more to do with sounds and rhythm specifically, but not actually the thing making the sound. I'm assuming todo can use boogie boogie with anything he vibes with essentially.
@@kniveskunn No, the vibraslap in question is not a cursed tool and Todo's CT has nothing to do with sounds and rhythm, naturally speaking that is. The thing that lets Todo use the instrument as the activation requirement of his CT is him chaning the condition. Let's remember that CTs are stored in your brain, i would compared them to a specific musscle memory blueprint implanted in your brain that lets you use your CE in a specific a unique way to you only, and these "memory/brain Blueprint" is accesible only through a "password" wich would be the activation condition/requirement, wich in this case was formely the "claps". Now if we go back to the "CE is the electricity" and "CTs are the appliances" example that Gojo talked about with Yuji (in S1) and we pretend for the sake of the point that Todo's CT is a "vacuum cleaner" that is turned on with an "off/on" switch (the claps), what Todo did is passing from that to a "vacuum cleaner" model that has a button to be pressed to turned it on (the vibraslap). Todo simply changed the "password". If Nanami for example really wanted to he could have probably changed the condition from hitting the 7:3 spot to 7:5.
He's not loosing his eye. 1. Before sukuna got him, narrator stated that gojos voltage was rising 2.after been cut in half, he heard sukuna give him praise which made him smile, meaning he was still aware. 3. He got instantly teleported out by uiui 4. Dont we find it weird that no one has mentioned gojos death? No one not yuuta, not maki, not yuuji, absolutely no one, not even mei mei? 5. We keep getting gojo flash backs and references 6. Narrator once again tells us that the effect of gojo hitting so many back flashes was for a special connection to rct, be created in his brain. 7. Has we have seen with sukuna binding vows imposed on ones self if done right can have almost zero consequences, worst case he trades the use of his right eye for a day in exchange for whatever it is he needs, the 6 eye serves as literally the best tool for a binding vow, due to the fact that they are so rare thus equivalent exchange will always be very high for it. 8. I'm still bothered by shoko, yes shoko, she witnessed yuuji come back from the dead after having his heart ripped out. Till now we do not know how sukuna did it. Like yuuji was dead dead. How did sukuna pull that off? If she truly is the prodigy of rct then the whole series would be enough time for her to figure it out. 9. Finally gojo coming back now would be key because. I honestly don't think sukuna is going at his best yet. Removing gojo and letting everyone else have a good showing has always been geges style. Bringing him back just so he dies to a sneak attack that somehow almost everybody else seem to dodge is weird 😂
Thank you, someone withba brain finally comments, that's what i have been saying ever since! It makes no sense, so Gojo being alive would fix all of that and especially all the foreshasowing Gege has done
One statement ends his third argument. Gojo was shown with his hair covering his eye during his awakening, when he fights Toji the second time. So when he said “Gojo’s hair has never been drawn to be that long.” It’s cap, and he knows that lol or id expect him to know it.
He may not having lost his eye but let me explain how if he did lose it that would not be a problem. Many stories with ties to either religion or cultural myths have the motif of losing or sacrificing one of the eye as a result of brushing off against opposing forces or pursuit of knowledge and enlightenment, Horus and Odin being some of them on said stories. If Gojo returns lacking one of his eyes, it may be even a bigger indicator of him being truly awakened or at least more powerful than before.
This was a great list and you definitely cooked but for the last thing you listed: The reason everyone can dodge the “World Cutting Slash” is because it now has the set binding vow (He has to use his other arms to perform it) and chants. So now there is true indication of it coming, unlike the slash that cut Gojo.
Gojo death was foreshadowed in jjk season 1 when hikari and Yuta appeared during the scene where gojo states Yuta hakari and yuji have the potential to surpass him. This made him a plot device for the longest but now he will return because he is no longer a plot device and can play a better role in the fight against sukuna and possibly be a key figure of the merger being stopped
Many people should look up how a vibra slap works. There is basically a wood block with metal inside of it that when hit one single time vibrates the metal inside the wood block and makes dozens of points of contact (vibration sounds) per second. So todo doesn’t have to keep shaking his arm or smacking it or anything he can hit it one single time and make essentially 50 different points of contact between the metal and wood. Which is why he can swap so many times a second now (there is no binding vow up to this point just he changed the activation condition of boogie woogie). That’s also what allows him to put the binding vow on himself that is a limitation on the number of swaps in proportion to the number of vibration sounds (the actual points of contact) so for example these number aren’t real but the binding vow he used is something like 1 in every few times the wood hits the metal (which is dozens of times a second) he’s not able to swap. Again those numbers are made up in just using that 1 in every few as an example. So technically the binding vow did nerf his new boogie woogie which is why he could make the vow and allow his range and number of targets to increase, at the expense of a few swaps per second I think this is the case honestly it makes way more sense then him using a binding vow saying basically his swaps are limited to the number of claps like you said, that’s not really a nerf. and also makes sense why he is using a vibraslap hand not just something else that makes a single clap sound, idk I also read fan translations so I could be wrong too
"Ghost" is figurative language. A "ghost from your past" is not a dead person, but someone you haven't seen in a long time and didn't think you'd ever see again
Regarding the "lost eye" theory, it's worth noting that 'Avant' by Eve is also the theme for the opening to the JJK mobile game, which *also* includes some imagery obscuring one of Gojo's eyes
What i find odd is the fact that his right eye is missing. Not that his eye is gone or something, it's that his right side is completely covered by something. Not to mention that the eye seems black than Gojo's white. Yes I know that sometimes the characters eye colour/shape can change, but considering that Gojos has the Six Eyes, changing it's colour feels... weird.
@@erdenesaikhanamgalanhyiag8351 if he used RCT he’d be fully naked on the bottom half n i dont think gege would draw gojo fighting sukuna with his dong out
25:25 gojos hair can cover his eye when his head is tilted down, just like when Gojo came back after getting filletted by Toji. Actually it’s the exact same panel fr fr, some pose same framing and everything and his hair was just covering his eyes on that panel too
I hope he does an updated take on the last page considering the leaks quite literally added a line that was never said which was the base of a lot of the gojo hype
Strong feeling Gege is going with the “everyone survives” route. Gojo sacrificing his eye will remove him from his pedestal which he always hated being on. Also the one eye motif is hinted at throughout several color spreads and chapter cover arts.
Gojo's comeback will kinda ruin the show. As you can probably see we've come to this point that through the sheer efforts of everyone without the help of one of the strongest sorcerer of all time they will gonna defeat Sukuna. Thus, Gojo's return kinda ruin that narrative by overshadowing the growth and achievements of the other characters. The story has been building towards a climax where teamwork and individual development play crucial roles in overcoming the ultimate threat. If Gojo were to return now, it would diminish the significance of the other characters' contributions and make their struggles and sacrifices seem less meaningful.😅😅😅
@YaraaMargaretPandan I agree with you. It feels weird to take this victory away from Yuji. The only way Gojo could return without cheapening the hard work of everyone in my opinion is if it is Yuta using a technique similar to the seance technique
@@lvs_chellyyyI doubt it cause gojo has been dead for a good minute not to mention maki, yuta and so many more were fighting sukuna for a while so it would make since if gojo returns to the fight.
@@lvs_chellyyy I think it *depends* on how it's done. People are making it seems like Gojo would be here to defeat Sukuna, but that doesn't have to be the case. If Gojo comes back there would likely be some consequences to it (be it temporarily like Toji or limited power) and Yuji still only has the power to save Megumi. There's also still the merger at play and if that's activated idk how tf they gonna take care of that.
@@lvs_chellyyy Y'all acting like if Gojo pulls up he's going to one shot Sukuna. Its been stated several times that Sukuna isn't even going all out, even in his current conditions. Yuji is at his limit and did way better than expected imo. I don't want to see no MC ass pull where Yuji takes down Sukuna and he just recently started learning about CE and CT. It makes perfect sense for the Gojo to be the one to take Sukuna down, since he's more experienced and has mastery of CE.
I believe it's not only gojover, but it's gojo casting his own domain. I believe that cause the way gojo is shown here reminds me of how he was shown in anime casting 0.2 second domain.
I reckon this is nobara. The narrator said the eyes of the strongest ghost he killed which would be gojo but that doesnt necessarily have to be him. Nobara is also one of the only people whos death has been ambiguous in this manga and we've seen them help people harmed in the shibuya incident like todo behind yujis back to prevent sukuna from finding out. Also the most effective techniques against sukuna have been yujis punches due to the soul effect which nobara is proficient in already so she could be a big help. I think shoko with might have placed gojos dying eye into her and then sent her to the battlefield
I think it’s more likely Sukunas mind is starting to break. He feels fear and I think it’s evident in the change of tone from Sukuna. That Domain Expansion was a desperate gamble to kill Yuji and he walked away from it. Then a contender shows up that Sukuna has no solution for. Notice Sukuna’s tone when Todo enters the battle. Sukuna was excited to fight Higuruma, he was excited to fight Maki, but now Sukuna is expressing caution seeing Todo. Also couple that with his rage against Yuji a few chapters ago, over the fact that this person he looks so down upon is actually holding his ground and dealing serious damage to him. Sukuna is full of hubris and isn’t grasping the reality that he is losing. He saw Gojo as the strongest, but he sees the other sorcerers as riff raff. Now that he’s being brought closer to death his mind is starting to break, as the body is quite literally broken. I think nothing nexemplifies this more than his attempt to open another domain after all he had to do just to open a domain against Yuji. The reality is he CANT open a domain, but he tries anyways. This could be the moment where we see Sukuna begin to break.
I think that i understood Sukuna’s DE binding vow. Basically, in order to use his open domain, sukuna needed to use his 2-hands sign because it requires a very high level barrier technique. Sukuna, though, was unable to activate it due to him having only 1 hand left, but he could still use his domain. In fact, if sukuna were to use his DE in a closed barrier (like all the other sorcerers) he could have opened his domain normally with 1 hand, but it would mean that malevolent shrine would not have been able to affect the real world (like it happens with other DEs); moreover, maki wouldn’t have been targeted due to her having no CE, as we saw in the fight against naoya. By doing this binding vow, though, sukuna could use his open barrier domain with 1 hand sign even though he was heavily damaged: this meant that he could target all the environment around him (including maki) and not giving the others a chance to escape by destroying the barrier. This also allowed his fire arrow to spread out and target a large amount of space as it happened in shibuya.
What i think Todos Binding vows were "I will never clap again but in excange i can activate my technique with a Vibraslap" And "For 50 activations in exchange i will have a bigger range but for a single swap"
From what i can understand about binding vows is this: they only effect the ability to thing they are directly applied to and do not directly impact any other abilities you might possess if they fall outside the purview of the vow made. In the case of Todo’s binding vow that lets him use the vibraslap to use Boogie Woogie, the trade off is that it’s an object that he can’t reinforce to the same degree as a flesh and bone hand, and it’s something much easier to break. The situation doesn’t matter, because it’s not involved with the vow he made. As a trade off for giving himself a weakness that is actually easier to exploit than removing one of his two hands in the form of destroying a single target that it far less durable, he gets enhanced control over his cursed technique and the use of it once more. If you actually think about it, the fact he’s missing a hand is irrelevant. What he’s done is essentially bind his cursed technique to a cursed tool. I’d imagine that the vibroslap, if it doesn’t end up broken, will end up imbued with Boogie Woogie. I just pray that isn’t the end goal here; a dead Todo with a cursed tool having his technique in it.
Todo's technique is supposed to work just as it always did, the moment he clapped he could swap. With the vibraslap it is at least 50 oscillations a second. Meaning he could swap 50 times in just a second. The binding vow limits that to he has to do less than 50 swaps and it has to be intentional and for that limitation he has increased his number of CT targets and the range. Personal binding vows are just like resolutions, u gain something if you restrict yourself, and before it is done u can cancel. But if u've gained said advantage u can't really cancel and if you do you lose what u gained. So if your binding vow was that if you ran 3km everyday u'd be running at 50km/h, the day u don't run u lose the boost. If then you said for the rest of my life I'd eat with my mouth open if for this one time I can bite through an elephant's leg, after u've bitten through the leg you wouldn't be able to eat without your mouth being open. Then with 2 person binding vows it works as any contract would with cursed energy itself being the judge and ensuring it's carried out and thus this is where it acts as nen contracts.
I lowkey thought todo would come back with an actual new hand considering mechamaru had a giant fuckin megazord from power rangers but no todo pulled a fast one on us before sukuna😂
The pipetheory that I wish was true: Yuji used domain expansion: Durring training he set up some actual binding vows that let him unlock it. Something like "hit x amount of black flashes and 'touch your opponents heart'" (anime protag stuff). Sukuna is seeing Gojo because he's being reminded of Gojo, the only other person to 'play the game' of jujutsu sorcery that he's such a need about (also maybe it's an effect of yujis Domain expansion)
I wouldn’t think of binding vows in reference to HxH, it’s more amendments to a constitution. Todo made a binding vow (amendment) to change the use of his Boogie Woogie. Likewise, Sukuna made binding vows to change the use of his CT.
It's literally one of the most important aspects of that universe power system. Every advanced sorcerer understand them but only some VERY advanced sorcerers (like sukuna) can use them with that much efficacy because he's basically just adapting his to specific situations to combine with his immense strenght, speed and cursed energy amount. Most sorcerers don't have the same level of strenght and experience to just sacrifice something and still be effective against someone like Sukuna.
Just a quick note, the metal is a little bar on the inside of the wood block, not the ball. Hitting the ball makes the wood block and metal bar inside it shake super freaking fast with only one hit of the ball. So it’s actually more like hitting the ball once would result in a stupid amount of lil clap noises, meaning hitting it more times fast would just be more broken
the thing is, if you don't hit it at the same frequency that its moving at, it will actually be more likely to slow down as you are literally getting in the way of it as its trying to shake. imagine trying to push a swing as its in the process of swinging toward you. you'd unintentionally stop the swing as you're getting in the way of it as its trying to swing,
i think it isnt gojo, the text on the panel reads something along the lines of- “those eyes are unmistakable”, i think that it is yuta back with the six eyes.
The is the full circle of “are you the strongest because your goatjo or are you goatjo because your the strongest” basically saying that our king is a ghost (shell) of his former self meaning he is no longer the strongest. He most likely made a binding vow to sacrifice one of his eyes
Sukuna ha, the 10 shadows, Daddyraga, Magito, binding vows with no repercussions, and Gege akutami on his side and he “won” by an off screen feat. If you ask me and anybody with working brain cells you would know that Goatjo>>>Fraudkuna
@@edmano1674 weird how gojo said he wouldn't win regardless. Gojo also used a binding vow to launch a 200% hollow purple (read 234) and received no "repurcussions". The "repercussion" of a binding vow made with oneself is the restriction itself. Breaking it doesn't do anything but nullify the binding vow, it's not a contract it's a promise, you don't have something bad happen by breaking a promise 😂😂😂 Yuta on the other hand used a binding vow to kill geto yet didn't have to die 🤔🤔 learned rct and external rct outta nowhere, but none of that is bullshit 😵💫 4 armed sukuna kills gojo during the domain clashes, completely mollywopping and tearing to pieces a burnt out having to defend from MS gojo, sukuna also wouldn't have to fight in a way not advantageous to himself to gain adaptation to see what it could do. When Miwa used a binding vow she sacrificed her ability to swing a sword in return she got one powerful swing so she had a good example of equivalent exchange Your third point idek what ur arguing nor do I care so I’m skipping that one Lastly, when the domains were clashing gojo lost the first one and overtime he began to adapt which eventually led him catching Sukuna in his domain because he was .01 seconds too late (i don’t remember the exact number) so. Spoilers Todos binding vow made it so he can't use someone else's hand to activate his CT (like how he did with mahito). He can only use the vibra slab. So in a way it does limit him but when the only thing u give up is other people's hands and you can now use boogie woogie 50 times a second. It kinda doesn't seem that it has major drawbacks.
I think what is meant by limiting the number of switches relative to the number of collisions refers to how the ball now has to collide multiple times per switch as opposed to a collision for a switch
The hand motion u demonstrated is also something I use on my wood and is a hand sign and technique that I also have mastered and in most cases it expands my domain
Honestly nah, cause let’s say it is Gojo, now we get to see the greatest Jump in JJK history, with Todo, Yuji, and Gojo beat Sukunas Ass. The power of 4 letter names 😂
i read somewhere in reddit that todou comeback was actually hinted before. when yuta was about kill kenjaku from behind bubt kenjaku anticipate that attack and suddenly we saw yuta again behind kenjaku and killing them. we thought that yuta was fast enought to overcome kenjaku speed but someone said that in that panel there was a splash sound effect written in the panel and thus todou might have swapped places between yuta and anything or anyone that was behind kenjaku
So... I have a rather wild theory that caveats off Gojo using a binding vow involving the Six Eyes. We haven't seen Nobara in a very long time, and haven't been able to confirm her death at the hands of Mahito. What happens if Gojo used a binding vow to give Nobara one of the Six Eyes and now they both have access to it, keeping them both alive? Both of them seemingly lost the eye on the left side of their face. This whole battle could be a stall tactic to give the only deuteragonist in JJK with an unconfirmed status a moment to appear and drive a NAIL through a Sukuna effigy (hence the nail through one of the Six Eyes on the fish) 👀
I could be entirely wrong, but the way it sounds to me is that Todo's binding vow isn't just his technique activating with the vibraslap, but the "in proportion to the number of collisions" part, in my brain at least, seems like he's trading off the raw speed of the vibra slap to access bonus effects, essentially implying that instead of one "slap" being enough to swap like when he had both hands, he needs to make contact multiple times for each activation. Essentially he got a fire rate increase, and decided to immediately trade that out for firing multiple rounds simultaneously and at longer range, but that's just my reading of it. Though that then brings into question if the 50 times a second is his current speed, or his speed before the binding vow.
For me there are two big options, one is Gojo has had a second enlightenment and become the true honored one, or something I think could happen is that Gojo did die and became a cursed spirit, something that may explain why tengen was immortal as they may have had a similar transformation at some point. If this is the case then he will be more powerful, but that would also mean that he is now a cursed spirit and has remade himself. This may be a good or bad thing for the story, I am unsure. I have always wanted Gojo to take Tengens place, and with the main trio possible dying I think they could make a new panda type character with the souls of Yuji, nobara and megumi who would stay with Gojo as assistants to the new tengen. In this case Gojo would use his eyes to see all and help sorcerers in ways other than barriers. But ... if Gojo is back as a cursed spirit he could be neutral or even evil, and may wish to kill sukuna for revenge and may become the new big bad, whether for right now or for a new group of sorcerers later down the line. I hope if he is a cursed spirit he is still good, but I could see him flipping completely after dying and remaking himself as something similar to sukunna.
Gojo becoming evil.....I don't really see that happening, cause he wasn't alone. He saw all his friends after his death which would have anchored him, But the rest of the theory sounds valid
Ok so from my reading of the chapter, quick explanation. First a vibra slap has a little metal piece inside the box that when set going by hitting the ball into the box will cause the metal piece to bounce against the inside of the box up to 50 times per second. The vow was to change activation from clap to metal hitting a wooden box, which if vibraslap wasnt a thing would be a more complicated activation. But this still only lets him swap 2 targets in the normal range per hit, but now he can just do it more often due to vibraslap but does still take both arms to start it going. Training with Yuta lets him adjust the activation conditions dynamically, so instead of 1 swap per 1 hit, it might be 1 swap per 10/20/50 hits this is what lets him increase the number of targets and the range of the technique. Hope that helps explain things as far as I understood them at least.
23:42 my idea is he used the part that wasn't hit with unlimited void which is very little, so a binding vow allows him to use his domain which wouldn't be possible but by doing so he gets a weaker domain because it is mangled that lasted only a limited time and he changed its parameter from cleave and dismantle to fire, basically he reduced the stats of his domain to get more power
Now the wood and metal parts of the new hand have to connect to use it at all also he just altered how his ability works which is something many sorcerers have already shown the ability to do
@@professorpengu502 i get that part, It wouldn't be a problem if he just swapped by clapping with a prosthetic, changing how he claps makes sense. It's just that It seems like a massive gain to multiply his efectiveness 50 times. Not to mention the increased range and multiple swap targets.
@@diefty94 That's the thing though, the new way of using his technique with the Vibraslap isn't part of a binding vow at all and as such there isn't actually any need for anything to be given up in exchange for his new power. It's just a new more efficient/potent way of using the technique he already had and allows him to make up to 50 swaps per second - most likely just some form of deeper understanding/evolution of his technique that he gained through training &/or study (or hey maybe it's also actually a cursed tool which happens to add onto it). Not the first time things like this have happened - for example Gojo's infinity which, albeit the key factor of his awakening may be a bit different, he was specifically stated to have trained it with an improved understanding to make it so much stronger between just the start and end of Hidden Inventory itself. Now Todo's binding vow actually comes into play by him limiting the amount of swaps - and that in specific is what is making him able to swap more people and have a larger range, because he's giving up the ability to use it that insanely fast. Though we also still don't have any actually concrete numbers for just how much this binding vow slowed it down by or how fast he can still swap people with it in place. All we have now is that at some point since his disappearance after Shibuya, he went to focus on relearning how to access and thus improving Boogie Woogie, which led him into being able to make the binding vow in the first place. Which, in my opnion, is much better than how we've had to watch Sukuna abusing them with seemingly no legitimate downsides whatsoever - cause it actually had legitimate baring in universe before it was introduced.
No the Vibraslap itself is just a massive upgrade and then Todo further capitalizes on it with a Binding Vow. He can switch 50 times with the Vibraslap and THEN he adds the Binding Vow to limit the number of times he can switch in exchange for expansion of range and number of people who are the targets. Binding Vows are just specific contracts and Jujutsu Sorcerers are like lawyers. Good Lawyers know how to make loopholes with the contracts(Good at Binding Vows).
i think that the “make attack more telegraphed for more strength” binding vow archetype is just that. a familiar and easy way to introduce the concept of binding vows but not limit them to only being that.
Also the interior of the bell has metal beads(they are more like cylinder shape) that hit the interior walls of the bell to make a noise. Effectively so long as the thing is vibrating, he can boogie. If you can hear the sound, he can boogie. Thus the binding vow means that his technique has a limit of always having a sound que and having a limited duration where he can activate it. This isn't that big of a deal as the technique isn't stronger, it's just different. Rather than having the visual que he's about to clap. You get an audio que and a limited duration of when he can boogie-woogie.
Theory 1: Yuji's Domain Memories of The Fallen Summons one to be used as a sure-hit The rest of the other fallen ones that are close to him atleast will be like Yuta's swords except they join Yuji's Jumpjutsu Theory 2: Gojo binding vowed one of his six eyes, as per his goal, he can FINALLY jump with his students, his new generation
I think the drawback of the binding vow is that now he can’t use his other hand to activate boogie woogie at all. In his fight with Mahito, he actually used mahitos hand to complete the clap, so now with his new boogie woogie, that will never be an option again. Also, there is the risk entailed by having his activation method something that could easily be damaged or broken which would probably be a high enough risk to account for the increase in efficiency
The ball on top never touches the wooden bell, it just makes the frame vibrate and metal "teeth" inside the bell vibrates through the frame. So no problem if it was hidden in cloth, it would only dampen the vibrations but still would make clapping sound
So quick thing about the vibraslap. The small metal piece is what is creating the vibrations and the clap of everything as it moves up and down from the hit against the ball piece or the leg. So in theory Todo might be able to use it while still covered by hitting it against his leg and only took it out to make it easier to use during the fight.
I think the binding vow is literally trading a hand for a percussion instrument. The cursed energy, universe or whoever u make those vows with doesn't seem to care if you lost it voluntarily Todo still lost his hand and now has to walk around w some weird thing where his hand was.
Todo faking the big bads is always hilarious

As someone who did Percussion for years in school bands, seeing a vibraslap used against the King of Curses is oddly cathartic.
I had fucking marching band Vietnam flash backs reading this chapter!
Yeah idk whose translation he’s reading but the one I read mentioned “metal teeth “ inside the wooden box & every time one of those teeth hit the box or just as you said, “rattled” it was like a boogie woogie clap & thus how he was easily able to do 50 swaps a minute
It also explains how he was able to use boogie woogie with the bandage. The bandage was really a handicap because it assured that the metal ball was constantly touching the box, so all he really had to do was shake the vibra-slap while bandaged
R🎉be
yeah and that is why he says he can swap about 50 times a second
@@shantel903 yep that was the translation I read too. As that is usually how that percussion instrument is used. I also thought that the bandage was so he could use it at a lower rate. So the bandages lessoned the vibrations of the instrument meaning he could switch at a more controlled rate.
I like this and makes sense
There are essentially 5 forms of binding vows, 3 "imposed on oneself":
- Binding vows made with someone else. You do X and I do X, if you break it, the consequence can vary. An example is Mahito/Kenjaku's vow with Mechamaru, and kenjaku's binding vow with Sukuna.
- Heavenly restriction. The world takes something from you and buff the rest in exchange. There's no punishment for breaking them, but it's unclear if you lose what you gained from it
- Binding vow with oneself that can't be reverted. Miwa binding vow, Sukuna's WCS binding vow to use it without chants and Mei Mei bird strike are great examples. There's no punishment from breaking them since you can't, because you wouldn't be able to lose what you gained from it
- Predetermined binding vows with oneself. Nanami overtime's vow or Curse Naoya's durability for example. These are made in advance and are constantly active, but they can be broken in exchange for temporarily losing their effect
- Spontaneous binding vows.
Thank you so much 👍🏾

The riley reid comparison is wild 😂😂😂

It’s worth noting that a vibraslap, when hit once, bounces the ball of the wooden piece multiple times and makes a rapid clicking noise. The way I took the binding vow was it doesn’t cause boogie woogie to activate for every single click, only about 50 of them, which in turn exchanges the number of switches for the ability to use it on multiple targets at a wider range.
Fun fact: Riley Reid's favourite cursed tool is Miguel's black rope

1. Before sukuna got him, narrator stated that gojos voltage was rising
2.after been cut in half, he heard sukuna give him praise which made him smile, meaning he was still aware.
3. He got instantly teleported out by uiui
4. Dont we find it weird that no one has mentioned gojos death? No one not yuuta, not maki, not yuuji, absolutely no one, not even mei mei?
5. We keep getting gojo flash backs and references
I do NOT question no one talking about Gojos death. They haven't given more than 10 seconds to anyone's death.
So technically the binding vow did nerf his new boogie woogie which is why he could make the vow and allow his range and number of targets to increase, at the expense of a few swaps per second
I think this is the case honestly it makes way more sense then him using a binding vow saying basically his swaps are limited to the number of claps like you said, that’s not really a nerf. and also makes sense why he is using a vibraslap hand not just something else that makes a single clap sound, idk I also read fan translations so I could be wrong too
The face of Gojo is actually an illusion and behind him stand the Goat aka JOGOAT.

It makes perfect sense for the Gojo to be the one to take Sukuna down, since he's more experienced and has mastery of CE.
I believe it's not only gojover, but it's gojo casting his own domain. I believe that cause the way gojo is shown here reminds me of how he was shown in anime casting 0.2 second domain.
every todo and yuji fight gets interrupted, every single time and look at what happened
This would also draw a connection to the eve music video where nails hit the eyes on the fish
The Reily Reid joke shook me up, imma have to watch you on headphones forever now 😂😂😂
I think that i understood Sukuna’s DE binding vow.
Love having this pop up in my recommended and spoiling me before I get to read it
If Gojo came back, ending most likely be an happy ending. But if we look at the story progress till now, I'm not sure about that.

Did he got stab like momo from Bleach??
lol
Binding vowels are just op at this point
No sheet, sunk has been using it the entire time
They're even stronger than...
Binding consonants.
I'll see myself out 💀
Only if you have something of value to put on the line
The "sacrifice " was the use of his hand that he had already lost. He also permanently changed the activation requirements for his technique

The pipetheory that I wish was true: Yuji used domain expansion: Durring training he set up some actual binding vows that let him unlock it. Something like "hit x amount of black flashes and 'touch your opponents heart'" (anime protag stuff). Sukuna is seeing Gojo because he's being reminded of Gojo, the only other person to 'play the game' of jujutsu sorcery that he's such a need about (also maybe it's an effect of yujis Domain expansion)

the activation of Boogie Woogie is conected to the teeth in the wooden box
Gege found the philosophy stone of binding vows
I wouldn’t think of binding vows in reference to HxH, it’s more amendments to a constitution. Todo made a binding vow (amendment) to change the use of his Boogie Woogie. Likewise, Sukuna made binding vows to change the use of his CT.
If gojo comes back he'd just steal the spotlight from Yuji.
As intended
He already has this chapter
this was an amazing explanation, this deserves a follow for sure💯
Binding vows is basically another term for plot amour in jjk this is ridiculous 😂😂😂😂
Its really not

@@professorpengu502it really is. It’s an in universe excuse to just do whatever lol 😂
@@justingabriel1765 no its really not you can not in fact do anything with one
In my opinion sukuna is seeing a vision of gojo because he himself is at the brink of death
One impact makes the block and bar vibrate for a few seconds nonstop, hence the vibraslap name.
the thing is, if you don't hit it at the same frequency that its moving at, it will actually be more likely to slow down as you are literally getting in the way of it as its trying to shake. imagine trying to push a swing as its in the process of swinging toward you. you'd unintentionally stop the swing as you're getting in the way of it as its trying to swing,
i think it isnt gojo, the text on the panel reads something along the lines of- “those eyes are unmistakable”, i think that it is yuta back with the six eyes.
6:29 AY YOOOOO!!!
Loving how Nick is describing the vibraslap using a suggestive motion

Sukuna breaking a Binding Vow and getting punished would be awesome ngl
The is the full circle of “are you the strongest because your goatjo or are you goatjo because your the strongest” basically saying that our king is a ghost (shell) of his former self meaning he is no longer the strongest. He most likely made a binding vow to sacrifice one of his eyes
Sukuna ha, the 10 shadows, Daddyraga, Magito, binding vows with no repercussions, and Gege akutami on his side and he “won” by an off screen feat. If you ask me and anybody with working brain cells you would know that Goatjo>>>Fraudkuna
@@edmano1674 Yeah honestly, Gojo is just a better character. and sukuna is just a mary sue in almost all aspects.
@@edmano1674 weird how gojo said he wouldn't win regardless. Gojo also used a binding vow to launch a 200% hollow purple (read 234) and received no "repurcussions".
The "repercussion" of a binding vow made with oneself is the restriction itself. Breaking it doesn't do anything but nullify the binding vow, it's not a contract it's a promise, you don't have something bad happen by breaking a promise 😂😂😂
Yuta on the other hand used a binding vow to kill geto yet didn't have to die 🤔🤔 learned rct and external rct outta nowhere, but none of that is bullshit 😵💫
4 armed sukuna kills gojo during the domain clashes, completely mollywopping and tearing to pieces a burnt out having to defend from MS gojo, sukuna also wouldn't have to fight in a way not advantageous to himself to gain adaptation to see what it could do. If youre gonna hypothetical a fight you gotta be objective 😂
@@RalMaybeisn’t Gojo the Mary sue though? He was born special and didn’t earn anything with talent, unlike sukuna. Gojo is such a Mary sue the main villain needed help just to win in a fight lol
@@FilthyToes14267 he didn’t use a binding vow he used the full incantation and utahime cursed technique enhanced it so stfu
Sukuna wasn’t supposed to be able to do a domain expansion since he had two left hands and he used a binding vow to bypass that rule, Sukuna has used the most binding vows in the whole show just in this fight. When Miwa used a binding vow she sacrificed her ability to swing a sword in return she got one powerful swing so she had a good example of equivalent exchange
Your third point idek what ur arguing nor do I care so I’m skipping that one
Lastly, when the domains were clashing gojo lost the first one and overtime he began to adapt which eventually led him catching Sukuna in his domain because he was .01 seconds too late (i don’t remember the exact number) so. To add on he wasn’t trying to kill Sukuna he was trying to save megumi. Next without Mahoraga there is no way Sukuna would be able to have a blueprint in time to bypass infinity so fire and slashes aren’t touching gojo. Next time stfu use your brain cells and pay homage to our king.
Who else thought Todo would come back with a mechamaru prosthetic or something?
Spoilers
Todos binding vow made it so he can't use someone else's hand to activate his CT (like how he did with mahito).
NAH, I'D WIN!!!!!!
Gojos line.huh
😭😭
The hand motion u demonstrated is also something I use on my wood and is a hand sign and technique that I also have mastered and in most cases it expands my domain
TODO COMEBACK WAS OVERSHADOWED BY GOJO'S RETURN 😂😂😂.
Honestly nah, cause let’s say it is Gojo, now we get to see the greatest Jump in JJK history, with Todo, Yuji, and Gojo beat Sukunas Ass. The power of 4 letter names 😂
Couple that makes money together stay together that ad was real cool bro keep doing your thing. You’re one of the best anime creators on TH-cam.
My glorious lightskin pookie bear gojo is finally back
😂😂😂
i read somewhere in reddit that todou comeback was actually hinted before. when yuta was about kill kenjaku from behind bubt kenjaku anticipate that attack and suddenly we saw yuta again behind kenjaku and killing them. we thought that yuta was fast enought to overcome kenjaku speed but someone said that in that panel there was a splash sound effect written in the panel and thus todou might have swapped places between yuta and anything or anyone that was behind kenjaku
This whole battle could be a stall tactic to give the only deuteragonist in JJK with an unconfirmed status a moment to appear and drive a NAIL through a Sukuna effigy (hence the nail through one of the Six Eyes on the fish)
👀
I could be entirely wrong, but the way it sounds to me is that Todo's binding vow isn't just his technique activating with the vibraslap, but the "in proportion to the number of collisions" part, in my brain at least, seems like he's trading off the raw speed of the vibra slap to access bonus effects, essentially implying that instead of one "slap" being enough to swap like when he had both hands, he needs to make contact multiple times for each activation.
Essentially he got a fire rate increase, and decided to immediately trade that out for firing multiple rounds simultaneously and at longer range, but that's just my reading of it.
Though that then brings into question if the 50 times a second is his current speed, or his speed before the binding vow.

its only right bro💯...
He saw all his friends after his death which would have anchored him,
But the rest of the theory sounds valid
It's not Gojover
Gojo is back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
Who knows maybe so.
GOATjo is back ....
Aight aight, thats an ad i can stand by 💪🏼
Yuji ate Gojo
Nick saying "Boogie Woogie" so many times cracked me up😂😂😂😂
He gave up nothing and in exchange he gained the ability to use his technique 50 times per second. Makes sense.
Now the wood and metal parts of the new hand have to connect to use it at all also he just altered how his ability works which is something many sorcerers have already shown the ability to do
Consider it as him giving up his hand
Imagine if it is Yuta inside of Gojo's body using Kenjaku's technique
For those wondering about the vibraslap... it's that vibrating sound near the start of Crazy Train by Ozzy Osbourne (about 11s in)
Also the interior of the bell has metal beads(they are more like cylinder shape) that hit the interior walls of the bell to make a noise.
On the Gojo thing: my kids and I came up with 7 possibilities, and missed one of yours. So not just 3.
what the hell, i alsmot spat my food out when you made the riley reid comparison...good work buddy! haha
Theory 1: Yuji's Domain
Memories of The Fallen
Summons one to be used as a sure-hit
The rest of the other fallen ones that are close to him atleast will be like Yuta's swords except they join Yuji's Jumpjutsu
Theory 2: Gojo binding vowed one of his six eyes, as per his goal, he can FINALLY jump with his students, his new generation
The music video showing all those hints for the future of the manga really sells the theory for me.
I think the binding vow is literally trading a hand for a percussion instrument. The cursed energy, universe or whoever u make those vows with doesn't seem to care if you lost it voluntarily Todo still lost his hand and now has to walk around w some weird thing where his hand was.
