    We don’t have to put new adhesive before replacing the screen?? (We broke the adhesive at the beginning)

    Excellent video. Thank you! Small observation that you are using a high temp on the heating pad. Personally have never cranked up the heat that much but will consider it since it is working for you. Thanks again.

    Yep, I agree with everyone’s comments. The 3 last ones anyway. Would you recommend replacing battery whilst im doing the usb-c port? Is there a preferred brand to use for replacement parts. Haven’t researched it, but if anyone has any input on a quality brand to share would be righteous bro.

    Two questions: first one, your first step was to heat up the iPad screen to ‘loosen’ the adhesive, but how does this adhesive keep the screen in place when you reattach the screen? Is there any negative impacts to the screen after you remove this adhesive and reapply?
    Second question, my iPad Pro 2018 11” will not fast charge through USB C port but it will ‘slow charge’ with certain third-party cables. The fast charge capabilities appear to have been fried and are not longer functioning. Do you think replacing the USB C port will resolve this and a new port will provide fast charging once again? Or is there a different part that is responsible for that?

    Hi, my iPad Pro 2020 has a problem. It charged but it is not detected on my Mac or windows laptop. I went to stores and they said it’s my port problem but they can’t fix it because it’s risky. Can you recommend what to do or where to go? I went to Apple store and they said to buy a new ipad

    Hello, it seems my ipad pro has similar issues to others here. But also frozen at the Apple logo boot screen. Can't update or restore bcuz of port. It charges, but pc/iTunes doesn't recognize it. Apple store said since they can't connect to it, it has to be a port issue, and that I need a new ipad altogether.
    Question: if I replace the port (model A1980) do I need to do a total wipe n restore for ipad to recognize the new port? That's what a repair tech said. That I would lose all my data just trying to replace the port

    • @DIYGeardo
      @DIYGeardo  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You do not need a new iPad if you can fix it. I am not sure why he says you have to restore the the iPad. This is not a board repair. Replace the charging port with a new one and connect to the board. Also i am not sure how you loose data by doing this repair.

    Hello, my iPad is having draining issue, first it went off and couldn’t charge then had to brush the port with a toothbrush before it started charging
    Since then it drains from 100% to zero in 3hours without use even in airplane mode.
    My PC can’t read it anymore since then but it charges when plugged. Could the port be the issue?

    • @LITGHOSTFACE
      @LITGHOSTFACE 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sounds like a battery issue and port issue.

    • @theophilusedoja5521
      @theophilusedoja5521 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I was suspecting battery issue but not been accessible on pc makes me suspect it’s simple port issue. Sometimes it just restarts even when at 70%

    • @DIYGeardo
      @DIYGeardo  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      First option is replacing the charging port and check for any issue, then go for the battery. If it is still failing, probably needs to check the board. Assume you open the device do not glue it until you do both repairs.It is easy to damage.

      My brand new Ipad pro 11 inch 2021 won't charge maybe some water went inside the charging port and ruined it, I went to Apple's authorized store, first of all they told me that the warranty is voided because liquid went inside, and lastly, it will cost you $700/-USD. Purchased this one for $899.
