I don't understand what's up with all the hate and dislikes. With this video I just saw how Models S behaves on the road, how it feels, pros and cons of having it and all the little important details you can't find just by scrolling through the internet. You do know if you would have pressed and held the Ludicrous mode button you could have gone into Ludicrous Plus which does have that 2.3 second 0-60 time instead of the I believe 2.5 second Ludicrous Mode.
it does not ... the actual 0-60 time was 2.5 because the tesla got a slight head start before the timer started which dropped it to 2.3 seconds

the reason you hear wind and fire noise is because there is no exhaust note to block that out like on a panamera turbo or s8.........

Hey Parker, I still enjoy your videos and I admire your perseverance to build your business despite a lot of the immature TH-cam commenters that won't ever understand what it means to make hard decisions.
It would help you build credibility to be a bit more accurate -- starting price is not $157k for the P100D, which you said several times in the video. The P100D starts at about $132k, and by the time you add all the options it tops out around $160k. Still expensive, either way. Speaking of price, it's interesting to note that you can get the 100D for $40k less than the P100D. The 100D (starts around $92k) is the same as the P100D except it doesn't have the Performance motors, and thus your 0-60 is "only" 4.2 seconds in the 100D. So...is shaving 1.7 seconds of the 0-60 time worth $40k, when the 100D is already really quick? An interesting value discussion.
Matthew Rogers the 100d is rear wheel drive. But the p100d is all wheel drive.
@romax No, the "d" stands for "dual motor". The 100d is all wheel drive, just like the P100D. The only difference is that "P" = performance motors.

Does nobody know about Ludicrous Plus mode? Hold down on the Ludicrous button and you get more acceleration potential.
The reason you can hear so much more stuff is because there is no engine noise that usually drowns a lot of that out.

I drive by exactly where you were driving in this review nearly everyday!
I think all those noises were just more noticeable because you couldn't hear engine noise.
When there is no engine nor exhaust soud, wind noise seems to be louder than other petrol cars. Insulations might be the same, but there are less noises produced by the car.
The Tesla Model S is pretty damn slick and has Road ripping performance that tingles your nerves and pumps your adrenaline hard

This noise thing must be as well due to the fact, that you don't have continuous IC engine noise in the car. I drove P100D after my BMW, and I find it very quiet. You do hear tires, but that it because there is no engine noise.
I think the key is pretty cool!

Alexander Sell acceleration is what matters. What's the point of having a car that's fast but you can't legally drive faster than 80mph on your average street? Tesla wins. 2.3 seconds 0-60. Id rather have a quicker car than a faster car

- Kilo- people buy teslas for image. They think they are saving the enviroment which gives them that smug factor. It also cost a lot which gives it a 2 for 1 smug factor you dont get with a luxury car for that price. Teslas are also extremely unreliable. Theyre mindset is a tech company, which is push out the product first and we'll fix the problems later with updates.

Tesla should look into installing the device that could charge the battery while the wheels are running, thus less time wasted on charging the car and it could cover longer range. This car is really really awesome.
That's call regenerative braking. Slowing the car is the only way to recapture lost energy. Kinda defeats the point of driving. There's no free lunch when I comes to making energy.
I think the centre screen is rubbish. The UI is dated, it has drops in frame rate, but more importantly - how safe is it to change settings whilst driving? With something like the latest BMW iDrive you can manoeuvre through different items using the haptic feedback from the controller, or still have a few traditional buttons and knobs for easy access. Try opening and closing that sunshade on the Tesla whilst driving and then one with a traditional switch - which one is safer? You're not meant to be consuming a tonne of information whilst driving as it distracts from your focus on the road, and just because it looks 'cool' doesn't make it very practical.
well it was designed with the idea in mind you wouldn't be driving, the car would. that's their goal, affordable, autonomous, electric cars. I think one of their prototypes or visions has front seats that turn around so you can talk to the person sitting in the back seat

A good review and a good look of the Tesla Model S P100D! One thing that can get fixed, dont really know how, only that it has to do witht he refresh rate of the camera and that is.. the big screen in the Tesla has different refresh rate than the camera Parker are using in his videoes :P Good if that could have been fixed but other that that, a really good video! :D
I suspect that there's more wind noise noticeable in the Tesla over the "competition" simply because the Tesla doesn't have a droning engine to drown it out. Because the tesla is basically silent, road and wind noise are naturally going to show through more.

It is not an disadvantage of electric motor, but lack of gearbox. Look up for RIMAC Concept One, quad motor with 2 gears.
Tesla has only one gear, not sure why.

Hello Parker, I have a few questions. When you make car reviews, do you drive the car arround for like 2h ? 3h ? Do you keep them for multiple days to see how they really are like to live with ? And do you just drive them about in b roads or do you try to use them as if they were your own cars ? Sometimes I feel your reviews are little bit "empty" or misguiding, and in my opinion possibly due to the fact that you don't test the car to it's full extent. Cheers

I don't find anything wrong with the exterior design of the Model S. I like the way it looks. To, me, the design bends in well with that of the other super sedans on the market. In fact, the folks at Motor Trend even pointed out that the Model S and Audi RS7 looks very similar in their exterior design, in their recent H2H comparison of the two cars.
I actually thought the Model S was much better looking than the first Panamera. It is the Model S interior that I would argue looks like a $35k dollar car.
