  • A consulting internship is a great opportunity to receive your first full-time job offer. If you intern at an MBB consulting firm (McKinsey, BCG, Bain), you often have the opportunity to join management consulting after the internship. In this video I show you how to land an internship and turn that into a job offer. It shows you the strategies that I used in my McKinsey internship to receive a job offer after internship. I talk about the three key evaluation dimensions for interns: Analytical Skills, Client Skills and Team Skills. If you master these skills, you have great chances to receive your consulting job offer. Internship job offers are frequently given in management consulting. Make sure you secure your internship job offer after your MBB internship as well!

      Why would a consultancy hire you if you didn't complete your degree yet?

    Hi Mr, it's good value. Thanks so much for that. If you can, kindly make the videos explain deeply about qualitative, quantitative and analytic skills and what kind of math are required when 1 person want to be focused in consulting industry, especially, such as MBB.

      Hi, thank you for watching! Well noted, I put that down on my ideas list for future videos.
      One thing upfront regarding math: These jobs do require you to be good in math, but this is rather to be understood as having a good math intuition and be good in mental math. Regarding the actual math techniques, for 99% what you do, high school math together with a basic understanding of statistics is more than enough.
      All the best!
      Heinrich

      @@FirmLearning Hi Heinrich, I think the best is you make 1 video to talk about exactly what kind of math and qualitative and quantitative which are used frequently in every day life of consultant for me and other people know what to prepare. If you can, kindly make another video about analytic skill. My suggestion is simple like that, thanks so much.

    I’m about to fill up my application as an almost graduate (I’m finishing my Chemical Engineering studies this month). I understand that in my case, I have to apply for the business analyst intern and not the business analyst. Am I right? I don’t have working experience. Thank you Heinrich, for your great videos!

      Hi Kevin, usually if the start date is after the completion of your degree, you can apply to the full-time position / do not need to do an internship! Best, Heinrich

    Hi Heinrich, I’m a civil engineering undergrad looking to get a job in consulting. How should I cater my resume to the application if I have only interned at engineering firms so far?

      Hi, avoid coming across as too technical in your CV (do not fill the bullets up with IT acronyms, software development stuff etc.) Rather focus on more conceptual / strategic tasks that you did and show that you have this side in you as well. Lots of success! Best, Heinrich

    • @roxme1996
      @roxme1996 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@FirmLearning Thank you for your reply, Heinrich! Just another clarification, is there a need to quantify my contributions to the company at every bullet point? As sometimes the contributions are rather generic, (eg. Administered the standards and workflow for the digitlisation platform for stakeholder’s reference). Also another questions about Co-Curricular Activities, I have a been Captain for two sports teams (same sport), sub-commitee member for one volunteer group and a student mentor, which do you think should take precedence in my CV if i were looking to remove some to stick to a one page CV?

    • @FirmLearning
      @FirmLearning  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@roxme1996 Hi, no you do not need to quantify every single one if it does not make sense. Regarding extracurriculars, would focus on the 1-2 roles you can write the most interesting "bullets" for regarding leadership experience, etc. Best! H
