the beats are maybe (sometimes) derivative (like everything today ) but some (many) of their songs have GREAT music. Like for example Before the Rain that has a fantastic melody and mood.
Its always been about his voice and lyrics really - though arguably, there is stuff from the Empires era that I thought was really cutting edge at the time for electronic music, and not just the lyrics/vocals.

I missed a bit the old agressive drops, but the OG industrial percussion was there. The video is stunning, i loved it.
