Hopefully this brings us down back to earth, we’ve been high flying since Leverkusen away, beating rangers aswell, this has to be a wake up call for these players and Ange to not be complacent, really disappointed at how poor our star players were but on to Dundee on Sunday
True. Ange's message after pretty much every game, especially when fan media is overexcited, has been that the team needs to improve.
They are well coached squad - tactically, technically, mentally, physically, were head and shoulders better than the 11 guys in Celtic strips.
Yep they are above us in every aspect of the game.

We've purchased the best striker in the Dutch League last year - G Giakoumakis - he's had a horror early stretch with fitness and injury, yet he's still a substitute. Really! We need the big man playing up front!

We also have to remember that Bodo have been able to focus purely on this game since they started pre-season. As good as they were, I think we just had one of those nights and I expect the second leg to be closer. Probably not going to make it through but hopefully show that we have learned some lessons.
It's probably not the worst thing in the world to take a loss like that as it will hopefully give the players a bit of a kick up the backside and stop them becoming complacent. We have dipped a bit in the last few games although still getting results.
"Trust the process" is a great way of looking at it. Domestically we are still in with a great chance of winning the treble which is more than we could have expected at the start of the season. January signings still bedding in, our best striker still to come back from injury. We have a lot to look forward to. This conference league is just a distraction imo and not that big a deal if we go out. No one will care about that if we win the league.
They were a good team and caught us off guard at the same time if we weren’t so off it in the final third we could’ve still won. Hopefully the players learn from this. Something I notice is when we go behind we get very rattled. We aren’t used to playing from behind much this season

Next Thursday is now a game that we can do without. Can't see it but would hope we will totally change the side for that game as the Hibs game at lunch time on the Sunday is clearly more important. Plastic pitch too I think I heard where we always get injuries.

Not a Celtic fan but this Bodo team was the worst draw Celtic could get. A team in the making with no reputation, frosted in hostile arctic condition, molded into a effective unit with a signature game plan by a brilliant manager, effectively executed. More great teams will fall into their snake pit for sure

Bodo are a very good team. Annoying we lost, but no shame in losing to them imo. They beat Roma 6-1, who aren’t exactly mugs.

Celtic looked poor because Bodo made us look poor. As soon as Jota got the ball ... and that seemed to be our only route especially from Starfeldt ... there were around three Bodo players harrying him. Our pressing was half-hearted at times and invariably too late. Their big physical players made some of ours look puny in comparison. Yes, we have some way to go in becoming a decent side in Europe.
When I looked at our starting eleven I thought of what a small team we generally are. I thought I was being paranoid!!
I think when we attack we should get the ball into the box quicker , we always check back and pass inside when we have clear opportunities to get the ball into the box first time.
Thats a warning to us, when a team presses more than we do and that put us out of joint just enough for the team to be overwhelm us and what must rangers be thinking now if they come to attack us with the same high press were gonna get slaughtered.
Very strange night for Celtic. Looked flat and if the European Football boat had sailed. Given the great form of the last 2 months, no need for any panic. This competition looked more of a after thought and the players looked out of sorts. Keep the faith, the club is only getting started on a great upward spiral.
Fan feeling that the conference is a distraction we don't need is surely in player's minds too. Playing at 70% and got punished.
But... this isn't a 'European Night at Parkhead', It's a glorified friendly. The 'prize' for winning the comp is what we get for losing our domestic league.
You also get direct europa league. Perhaps not super cool, but winning is definitely cool
@@stormofmagic9358 totally understand but in terms of priorities, if you said to fans 'ok youll win this trophy but you have to drop, say, 4 points in the league right now' 80-90% would say forget it, and that's telling.
@@dswizthe1st personally, I'd take a conference win over a league win.
Perhaps that's because I'm a norwegian football fan, and we have a horrible amount of matches to qualify for champions league regardless.
Winning the conference league would therefore actually be around the same level of "coolness" to me as winning the domestic league.
Especially when teams like Roma and Leicester are involved
Deservedly rollicked the players after raith game . Well a bigger rollicking is needed after that . This mentality in Europe is seriously needing addressed. A proper background team is needed.

Go for broke, just got back into game at 2-1. Should have contained the scoreline at that point not push for another in my opinion. Left wide open by keeping 4 4 2 🤷♂️

Good game but bobo were excellent and good working hard team and good in attacking its was nt celtic nyt but celtic will get better wen every player adjust playing the anges style I would of played hatate beside mc gregor tonight our loss to nyt was to a good team that beat roma and least it was nt.
