In most car models, it is almost impossible to reset the airbag light without using a scanner, though this is due to safety precautions since you are supposed always to repair the fault anytime the airbag light turns on.
However, car models like VW are one those that allow you to reset the airbag light without using a scanner, which can easily be done by removing the car battery terminals and connecting it back, but this will only reset the temporary. The airbag light will still come back on a couple of miles.
To take this step further, you have to examine the wiring system that you can find under the passenger or driver seat for any corrosion or loose wires in the connector plug, and if any issue, I mean loose or corroded wires, you solve the problem and your VW Airbag Light will Reset Without the Tool.
You can just spray the connector plugs using an electronic cleaner and then restart your car.
Alternatively, you can follow the steps below for a longer reset.

In my VW Polo IV Cross 1.9 tdi (in most of things the same as vw polo IV 9n) it doesn't work. I've tried to clean the plugs under seats too.
Hi driving 1.9 tdi dsg it goes in limp mode and no power steering
So u disconnect the battery.
Then find ab module and disconnect.
Then wait about 15 min and plug module back in.
Then
Reattach battery and check.
Is that the right order?

Is this Bishop knew anything about cars he would know that moisture can get into the electrics and play Havoc. Because your seat maybe moved it can also cause havoc on you're wiring harness.

How about you look up the proper repairs for an air bag. If you want to work on a bomb, then be my guest because that's what these practically are.
No regular car owner should be messing with the airbags, or the ECM for it as an electrical discharge could cause them to activate.

@@samanderson1932 it is not safe at all you will need to disconnect the battery and wait 15 to 30minute before touching any yellow wires in the car.
