- One hundred years ago a movement like none other since shook the very foundations of the American church. People reported speaking in tongues, new denominations were formed, and the Charismatic Movement was born. This documentary looks, in depth, at the inception of this movement and the mystery and controversy surrounding some of its beliefs.
In 1906, William J. Seymour, a one-eyed black pastor from Louisiana, son of a slave, journeyed by train from Houston to Los Angeles, only to be locked out of the church that sent for him. He turned to prayer and God's answer was The Azusa Street Revival. It shook the foundations of the church, spawned numerous denominations and changed the lives of six million people forever. God touched me just before I went to prison 1999 ... going there saved my body while He touched me and changed me forever! People knew me before know me now and knows only God could do what He did. My great great grandmother was Agnes Bryant Jones and she was born in 1864. She was a Pentacostal Circuit Preacher. Jesus gave her a night vision of The Lord handing her a torch and told her to set the earth afire. She traveled all around the Midwest on horses or rafts to get to her destination. She fought against dynamite and pistols when she'd go into coal mining towns to preach Acts 2:4, baptizing and healing by the laying on of hands. She held a tent revival in Terra Haute, Indiana of 6,000 people. Many people of different faith's who had locked their doors to her started converting to the Doctrine of Jesus Christ, Who taught the Apostles and Disciples His Truth. Jesus founded His Church in The Book of Acts.

I’m from Los Angeles. I was born and raised in North East L.A. And I have visited the site of the Azuza street revival. I can personally attest that a lot of the homeless people who hang out near Azusa street still experience miracles of healing.

I left God and the Church behind when I was 18, raised Baptist...I was 45 and went to an Apostolic Church and glory to God, my heart was opened up to the Holy Ghost.
I was raised Baptist and when I just said it has to be more than just this...when trying to find a daycare for my daughter I met a woman who sooke to me and invited me to the apostolic movement and prophetic sound. TCOR APOSTOLIC INTERNATIONAL MINISTRIES, I been there since❤
I was in an Apostolic church n i left because it was too liberal biblically. Nice people passionate about God's word n phrophesies but very uneducated in biblical exegesis. When your liberal with the bible n you don't understand context, culture, and doctrine you can be led away into a newage like teaching. See but some people are so overwhelmed by the experience they forget about the biblical doctrine. Witches can creep in but not understanding their history n dotrines you accept anything that feels good.

I've been to Azusa Street location, the Bonnie Brae house and William Seymours grave. It's surreal being at a place of such a historic move of God.
I, too, have been there...There was a Pentecostal Roots Tour given by the Assemblies of God. Awesome experience and blessed to have experienced it!!!

This documentary, lifted my spirt, it opened my eyes about the power of humility & submission to God this is all we need to become a witness for Jesus.
I agree! Because some with letters behind their names, who felt they were more learned than Seymour. But God let Seymour name rise above everybody else at Azusa, because he was very humble and his only desire was to have more of God. Seymour was seeking more of God throughout the US, but some were too full of pride and wouldn’t allow him into their service because of racism. Some say, others are to be credited with Seymour, but God says, he that humbles himself shall be exalted! He is the main one God used, because he was more humble before God and man. So, as you said, it was his humility to God first, then man.

I just herd about this at a Revival last night. The evangelist was telling us about it. And I felt the Holy Spirit hit me like a wave from the ocean. It was beautiful and strong. Now I’m fighting the good fight.

Minister Louis Graff was at the. Azusa street revival, later he went to Germany he traveled to a city and he was talking to a man, he asked this man is there anyone sick? The man said yes there is a man living here who has severe arthritis and he is in great pain, he was given direction to this man’s house, pastor Graff went in laid hands on him and prayed the man was healed, this man was the Grandfather of Reinhardt Bonnke who went to Africa and preached Jesus to them and millions have given their hearts to Jesus

I went to a glory meeting where the Bible had holy oil coming out of it and there were diamonds falling on the ground. I could feel the deep intimate love of GOD like nothing I had ever experienced before. When I asked the minister (a middle aged Latin American woman) how she had gotten saved she said from her parents sharing the faith when she was young.
And Bishop Noel Jones- his parents used to have family prayer before church and make him pray when he was a kid
The story is that Graff was sponsored by a mission financed by maria woodworth etter. While in rural germany, he got lost in the forest and started praying. A supernatural light appeared and led him to a village and at the edge of the village the light disappeared after telling him to start his ministry there by healing the sick. The first person he met on entering the village told him of a very sick man whose arthritis pains were so severe he would cry out in the night and keep half the village awake. He walked into the man's hut and cast out the spirit. The man was instantly healed and become his assistant leading a move of the spirit in that place. The sick man was the first generation pastor of bonnke family and reinhard 's grandfather.

In our congregation my daughters and other children worship God they pray and one of my daughters received the promise of God the other one is still praying for the Holy Ghost. It is beautiful seeing little kids praising and worshipping God.
I'm praying for return to my first Love, inner restoration,transformation, an infilling of the Holy ghost as in these days.

I was baptized in Jesus name same night. You can receive the Holy Ghost alone but you’ll receive much better when praying with others that have the Holy Ghost because they have the power of God. Someone has to intercede. A revival can happen anywhere where there is intercession. Many want a revival but no one wants to intercede unfortunately, only prayer brings for such harvest. Intercede for your countries and cities and GOD WILL DO GREAT THINGS!

I Louis Kates at the age of 23 years old I wonted more of God in my life . When I was 3-4 yrs old.i remenber a family I was close to many years ago there was a home.. my mom and family went to..they had lots of music.praying...i was healed in my body as a 3-4 yr.old... was to have surgery...and family took me to have it......and Dr. Could not find anything...this Prayer Band is coming back....I feel it very soon!

I live in Los Angeles, I am always visiting the area exactly where seymour williams church use to be. I guarantee anybody, the anointing is still on those grounds, you can still feel GOD'S POWER. IT NEVER LEFT. I was there last week 2/12/2021 I always go there.
Do you know why us Christians go against this false movement, it's because we have tested the spirit and find deception, while you believe this was God's anointing.

at the church I attended an English woman was praising God in tongues, a visiting Pakistani later tried speaking to her in Urdu as he had heard her praising God in fluent Urdu, she had no conscious knowledge of the language..

This is soo encouraging to watch. Highly recommend to anyone believing for more than what we're seeing right now. Watching this and then seeing it in spirit in His presence is amazing. The Holy Ghost is about to do something even greater in our generation! It starts with seeing it in the spirit, a vision from the Lord and then that comes to manifestation. As Jesus said, I don't do anything unless I see My Father do it first. It's seeing it first. Revisiting this true story, about ordinary people who struggled to make sense of their difficult times ---has me praying for a repeat! An unstoppable move of God occured on April 8, 1906. The Azusa Street Revival was spread by 1,300 people who received the Holy Spirit and spread it like wildfire. In 2021 the count is roughly 600 million souls world wide were prepared for glory as a result of that amazing move of God. Let us work together on our knees and invite an even greater outpouring to fall from heaven across all nations! All it take is the earnest prayers of the righteous.

It wasn't a true revival. This was a gateway for prosperity preachers trying to pass random babbling for "speaking in tongues". Why no interpreter?
I was “pushed” from behind, fell onto my bed, seeing a vision in a trance. I was with worshippers, seeing 3 types of light interacting as we worshipped.

I know that Pastor Morris is teaching this as a one time teaching however I think Pastor Morris would agree that we have to as faithful believers in God, daily live this experience of abandoning ourselves in our flesh. I can only speak for myself and I know that I can only live my Life one day at a time. For me every day allows me a new opportunity to grow my relationship with God, renew my heart and soul in his loving words. And I believe as Abraham believed that worship is a major part of my relationship with God.

I just read this posting about your grandmother being a Pentecostal Circuit rider in the late 1800's. Since I'm from Terre Haute IN I found it very interesting that held a tent revival that reached many souls.
Revival has been Here sence Jesus Christ send His Holy Spirit , you just need to obey and start preaching the Gospel instead of waiting for someone to do it
