  • Analyzing the benefits of adding the Canton Accusump to a Porsche 986. Similar results could be expected on a Porsche 996 (911). In this test the relief valve is set at 35 PSI with a 10 PSI bladder.

Great way to show what the Accusump actually does!! Will fit one to my car as well soon!

Hi Bene, I am rebuilding the car now, and am adding a deep sump pan, as the Accusump can run dry for brief periods on long corners. Pros and cons to both Accusump and deep pan. If I had to pick one, I would suggest you start with the deeper pan.

@@mikepetersen3 Thanks for the advice :) I´m already running a bigger pan in my Nissan, hope the Accusump will prevent oil pressure drops.

Nice video, Hartech has a setup where the accusump dumps directly into the oil pump. I’m waiting to hear back from them on the benefits

I’m not sure how you would do that on a Porsche M96 engine. Theoretically, the Accusump can dump anywhere on the high-pressure side of the oiling system and you would have similar results.

I checked out their Facebook page, thx for that tip. However I think their design is flawed - as they push the oil into the system on the low pressure side so the oil can move into the pump but also upstream back into the oil pan. This means much of the benefit of the capacity is lost. You want to push the oil into the high pressure side of the system, so the oil pump will at least prevent back flow. Using an adaptor on the oil filter is still the best location IMO.

      @@mikepetersen3 I hear ya… time/testing will tell.
I’ve always been curious about how long does it take the accusump to refill, and does it dump its full load every time or is it a partial dump to keep things at the set pressure level.

@@frederickcook87 I can´t find that post. Can you help? What´s the date of the post? Thanks :) I´m really curious to see if they do it the way I did it in my Elite ECU.

Did you install the accusump setup yourself or have a shop do it? If you had a shop do it do you mind sharing with me the labor to install the accusump?

I installed it myself in the location of the current fuel filter. I move the fuel filter to under the hood, next the battery.

Just seeing this video after thinking I want to track the car just a few times a year. If one does not use a deep sump are you destined for damage on your first few track days ? Is there a kit or porsche solution you do reccomend ?

The problem becomes more pronounced with higher G loads. Track tires, lowered suspension, etc. will all compound the issue. If you are running street tires and only doing one or two days per year you should be fine. However, if you want to sleep better at night the deep sump is the best insurance policy
