Wow, wow, wow! That image with the star burst almost brought me to tears. So love your images. There is nothing quite like a clear night sky away from light pollution.

Really enjoying your Tassie series, Richard. As a Tassie living in Ballarat for the last few years. it is great to see my home state presented so well. Ben Lomond is an amazing place, eerie in the off season with no one around but so busy during the ski season.

Thanks for watching John. I like eerie places .... everywhere is a little eerie during the night anyway. I loved it up there.

Richard, I have been following you now for a few months and have watched most of your post. I took a trip to the great Texas Star Party here in the USA and created 6 wonderful nightscapes over the five nights I was here. Your channel is so informative, inspirational and wonderfully shot. Thanks for leading me to this adventure.

Thanks Richard, yes the skies finally cleared and what a location for it to happen ... it was such a surreal experience, especially being up there all by myself. It's a strange feeling knowing that the only way in is by Jacob's Ladder and you'd hear anyone climbing up that for miles.

    Hi Richard
I too have watched all your video. This one is the second time I have seen it.
With this trip to Tazzie you really hit a home run out of park.
You have so much talent it is incredible with what you come up with in Landscape Astro. That red bush with the Milky Way slightly out of focus is a Rembrandt from Down Under.
    Kind regards

Wow!! What a beautiful video of an amazing location. I wouldn't be surprised if the Australian Tourist Board get in touch and ask for some footage, because you've certainly sold Tasmania, and rightly so.....it's stunning. I see what you mean about the impact of being closer to the stars.....your photos are all truly breathtaking. The time-lapse of the bush-fire and clouds, capturing the glow from the actual fire itself is just awesome. Another brilliant video from the Master of nightscape photography.

Fantastic work Richard, and the Z6 continues to perform really well. I reckon being high up in the mountains always brings great photographic opportunities. Looking down on the clouds below, as the sun sets or rises, is always special. BTW, it's pronounced 'Ben _Low_-mnd'. Cheers, Chris

Great images Richard, your work is inspirational. I recently followed your advice to set up and capture some nightscapes. I'm sure as a professional with practice, you are more productive then those of us just starting out. But I have to say, the amount of time and effort that goes into your productions are hard to fathom. The number of setups for the video arrivals and departures, excellent commentary, and how to lessons. Then the actual light painting and captures, editing, production and uploading! In addition to: making the best images, best tutorials, and great entertainment, you are the hardest working photographer/producer I see on TH-cam. Thanks for all the great episodes!

I lived in Tassie for over twenty years and there really is so much to see. My job was in hydrography and it took me to many rivers, streams and places off the beaten track which most people don't get to see or realise are even there.
Love this series of Tasmania and you've taken some beautiful photos, thanks for sharing your time there. Tasmanian's are very particular about pronunciations (say Lawnceston instead of Lònceston and see how far you get), but in Ben Lomond, it's actually called Lowman (don't ask me why, they're a weird mob).
Cheers, and thanks again. Paul from Salisbury East in South Australia.

    • @nightscapeimages.richard
      @nightscapeimages.richard  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Thanks heaps for your comments Paul. Always appreciate the local perspective when doing research. You wouldn't believe how much I tried to find out how to pronounce Ben Lomond .. it was really hard to find an videos where people actually said the words ..!!! Anyway, thanks again for you support, really means a lot.

WoW 😮 - WoW 😯 and WoW again! This is just unreal, wonderful, amazing, inspiring... leaves me speechless! I can so much understand what you mean when you say that you feel energized and have an increase of creativity in such a beautiful environment. Being under the stars ✨ and Milky Way makes us realize how little we are facing Mother Nature, which is totally awesome! I love the kangaroos 🦘... this is Australia, no?!? 😂 I’m looking forward for the other parts of your breathtaking journey! You’re the Best! .... Reminds me of my trip to Tassie a few years ago, 2 weeks of clouds and drizzle
    I really was very lucky
There were only 2 clear nights - but what a magical 2 nights with a new (no) moon, every shot a keeper, and the Milky Way just glowed it was absolutely amazing - I was taking 10s shots at ISO800 (A7RII)
and the clouds even added interest to the sky and the muted light made all the colours pop in the day shots
see what you have done, you reminded me of how much I wanna go back now that I have the A7RIII
keep up the good work - one day I'll get around to one of your workshops, looks like they are very popular and booked out a year ahead
PS you can download offline google maps for your phone or tablet, it make life a lot easier

Absolutely fantastic series Richard and some crackin' shots. Thanks for taking us on an adventure to places many of us will never be able to visit.

Ive been playing with Milkyway Photography for about a year now with my crop sensor and some ok lenses. but after watching a whole lot of your videos i now know how well it CAN be done. Time for an upgrade to Nikon D750 and start with your favorite Nikon 20mm f1.8.... You have inspired me no end..... The best parts of your videos ( for me ) are when you show a finished image with all the capture details down the side. I think thats a brilliant format for us to learn how you do such a great job.... I just screenshot them as I go...THANK-YOU

Really pleased you are getting something out of the videos Craig. It can be a long hard struggle with nightscape photography so I'm happy to help where I can. Appreciate you watching.

@@nightscapeimages.richard What do you think of "light pollution filters"? Are they worth using? .. or dealt with it in post?

@@craigfield3228 I get asked that question a lot Craig. I've never actually used one but I have a few friends who do and actually think they help. The Haida brand seems popular. sleeklens.com/haida-clear-night-filter/
