I'm just gonna say that your statement about the episode not showing any of them "not being kind" because if you watched the episode on the Kirin's specifically then you would see how they have been kind. They just had emotional problems

The firebending anger of the mirax was an idea I came up with first for my hybrid OC; which was inspired from Twilight bursting into flames after the incident with Pinkie sense.
The thing about this episode that really bothered me was how Applejack was completely intolerant of the Kirin's choice to stay silent when she has an older brother who does much the same thing, and she specifically defends his right to do that. Sure, Big Mac CAN speak, but you pretty much have to stick to yes or no questions with him. She got mad when Starlight Glimmer made him talk with a spell. What's the difference?
Well they all *had* to. We don't know if most of the kiren wanted to. Plus it's said it limits emotional range. I think that's the real problem she has.
@@shadow_shine3578 The problem she had was the lack of talking. She said so specifically. It's all "none of you talk," which is why she was sent to Autumn Blaze. She never mentioned emotions.
@@trumpeterjen true, they probably should have clarified. Though she also knows her brother, and here they needed to solve a problem. She might have also been on edge after getting abandoned by fluttershy
@@shadow_shine3578 Applejack doesn't hold grudges like that; she'd already laughed that moment off with Fluttershy. She was impatient because other characters wouldn't verbally speak. The intolerance and hypocrisy is right there.
"flanks don't lie." except for that time Discord tricked them... yeah, i forgot about that! also, i have read some fan-stories where Griffins spoke "griffish".
Wanna add that the leader is just a slightly altered Celestia puppet? Leaders of every other race aren't nearly as blatantly obvious as the Kirin, even the ones that are part pony (Queen Novo, every other hippogriff compared to ponies, Chrysalis, etc). Like, even the old changeling queen, which was literally an evil Celestia with holes, had a different model. Even Cadence looks different, and she's still a pony!
So if that part of the song is based off of the Phantom Of The Opera than the main song in that movie would sound like “the KIRIN of the opera is there, inside my mind da dadadadaaaa dadadadadaaaaaaaa!
Qilin's are actual mythical beings based off of Asian mythology, to which they aren't part deer, but actually have features like that of a dragon, more specifically of a Chinese dragon. That's why they have scales, though they can also have two antlers or one, the one being what makes them more reminiscent of a unicorn. The more you know~
You do know that it's the same being and that the name just has different variants, right? It can be either Qilin or Kirin. I just prefer to use the Qilin spelling cuz I like it more. Like I said, it's based off of "Asian mythology", as in Asia as a whole, with very slight to almost no variations in the creature from culture to culture.
But it still happened. So yeah sorry still counts lol. Plus the tree litteraly lied in the last episode... And kidnapped children not really a source of great morals

@@duskwolf300 mistmane, and her background is actually mainly Chinese with the dragons, architecture and stuff though her outfit seems to be more Japanese. Some of the other unicorns in her homeland have Chinese collars though so it's definitely Asian inspired at the core
This episode makes a lot more sense when you look at it as a metaphor for unethical pediatric psychiatrists prescribing high doses of mood stabilizers to chemically restrain difficult children by making them too emotionally numb to act out, instead of doing their job and addressing the underlying reasons for the child's outbursts. Medical abuse is rampant in pediatric psychiatry (at least in the part of the US where I grew up) because children have no control over who prescribes their medications. Literally their only recourse is if their parents have the education and the spine to advocate for them, even when that means telling the medical "expert" to fuck right off.
Also, am I the only one hoping Autumn Blaze comes back? She made this episode so much better than it otherwise would’ve been. Besides, you don’t put that much energy and attention and personality into a character and give them a killer voice and song just to throw them away, right?
Fluttershy was awful in this episode. She had no right to lose her temper with Apple Jack at the beginning after abandoning her. Her arguement on keeping the Kirin silent was horrible but the episode treated the argument as if they had valid points. Her little stunt with the flowers only made it worse cause the episode rewarded her for her awful behavior.
What you say kinda proves that the cutie Map idea is no longer as fresh as when it was introduced in Season 5. Dragonwarlock(from Deviantart) would agree with you.
I think this was hands down the best episode of the season, because it showcased the characters as having emotions besides their element of harmony. I mean, we legit just meet Autumn Blaze, and we know her whole personality, faults, hobbies, and the fact she had the courage to be alone instead of silent with her tribe she grew up with. The Disney song I think is because she's a secret Disney Princess. Also we NEED to find the voice actress for Autumn Blaze, and make her a main character, maybe even next season she can come to the school of friendship :D

The way the song starts, the musical theater..the comedy..this seems a lot like.. Yep. Celebrity Guest Star. Rachel Bloom aka Crazy Ex Girlfriend. She is good times.
Autumn Blaze was the best part of this episode (her song too). Also that song transition was hilarious and totally in line with her spastic personality. I would never count that as a sin.
Rachel Bloom. Star and Writer of Crazy Ex Girlfriend. Every episode has 2 songs that are comedy based and pretty much like this. All songs are on youtube.
Autumn Blaze is already my favorite backround character💚 And also everytime she talks she always reminds me of the TH-camr The Lost Narrator, just in the way she acts and how she sounds in general.
She was kinda bit of a mean one in parts of episode and didn't use her words, could say the same with Applejack but disappointed a bit with fluttershy.
Interestingly enough, The Kirin are originally from Chinese Mythology, though in China they are called *"Qilin"* (pronounced Chee-Lynn), in Japan & Korea they are called "Kirin" or "Girin"(though "Kirin" is the Modern Japanese Term & "Girin" is the Modern Korean term for Giraffe), in Thailand they are called "Gilin", in Vietnam they are called "Ky-Lan"(pronounced Key-Lynn), but despite being referred to as the "Chinese Unicorn", the Kirin(Qilin, etc.) is actually a chimerical hybrid of several different creatures, though for the most part it is pretty much some kind of *"Dragon-Deer"* , mainly due to the Dragon-like Scales & association with Fire, and the Deer-like Body & Antlers, some even say that it is believed to somehow be a relative of the Sika Deer. Though it is too bad that they decided to go with the name "Kirin" for these creatures, because if they went with their original name of "Qilin", then it would have been perfect for some saying like *"Chillin' like a Qilin"* , because of how similarly pronounced "Chillin" & "Qilin" sound.
Finally someone who knows more about the qilin beyond it being an 'asian unicorn'. I agree with you hoping that they took the original Chinese pronunciation but then probably it's easier to pronounce kirin than qilin in english

@@Chrono_Mitsurugi And that's when they started doing episodes that didn't involve ponies fighting each other for either 1 small thing or bigger things
what about Trixie getting mad cause Starlight traded her wagon? that whole episode was just them fighting.
GOOD POINT I NEVER ACTUALLY SEEN APPLE JACK DO THAT BEFORE THOUGH BUT THEN I REMEMBERED.
5:25 Trolls reference.
"flanks don't lie."
except for that time Discord tricked them...
yeah, i forgot about that!
also, i have read some fan-stories where Griffins spoke "griffish".

Hello darkness my old friend🎵
My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic Season 8 Episode 24 - Father Knows Beast
“Hello Darkness my old friend, I come to talk to you again”
Qilin's are actual mythical beings based off of Asian mythology, to which they aren't part deer, but actually have features like that of a dragon, more specifically of a Chinese dragon. That's why they have scales, though they can also have two antlers or one, the one being what makes them more reminiscent of a unicorn.
The more you know~
these are kirin(the japenese ones) not qilin's
You do know that it's the same being and that the name just has different variants, right? It can be either Qilin or Kirin. I just prefer to use the Qilin spelling cuz I like it more. Like I said, it's based off of "Asian mythology", as in Asia as a whole, with very slight to almost no variations in the creature from culture to culture.
nvm then sorry I was confused.
It's fine, lol, I probably should've added more info, but I figured people would probably look it up as well.
6:05 *her first voice acting job* as far as i can tell and its STUNNING
And flanks don't lie. The illusion trick doesn't really count because it wasn't the Tree of Harmony that did it
But it still happened. So yeah sorry still counts lol. Plus the tree litteraly lied in the last episode... And kidnapped children not really a source of great morals
@@Moliminous The tree didn't say anything about it not being the Tree of Harmony nor did it say anything about it being Twilight. And the children came down on their own. The tree just kept them their for their friendship/worst fear test.
I'm glad you haven't lost yourself in the void, like the liveing tombstone and black gryphion, your better than them, and don't let anyone say different. Soon I'll have a transmutation circal drawn me, guess what's that for, It work before, then it will work the second time. After all maybe if it works out the way I want to it can help my rampantcy. Love you as always your biggest fan Rayo
Sinning a deep monologue of what's supposed to be uplifting is now good for some reason
"Did they just give the entire plot of Phantom of the Opera?" Why yes. Yes, they did.
7:46 now i know i am not the only one who heard fluttershy moaned while she was struggling to get free
Give infinity sins for not showing autumn blaze till now.
And we all know that a kirin is an Asian unicorn, right?
Then what is the unicorn pillar of beauty? Her kind of unicorn can also be consider an Asian Unicorn or Technically a kind of Asian like Japanese
More specifically qilin/kirin are Chinese/Japanese mythological creatures that has a horn that made it perceived to be 'Asian unicorns' when they're not exactly that. Mistmane however is the snow's version of an 'Asian unicorn' because of the curved horns and specificaly Chinese background of her homeland
@@duskwolf300 mistmane, and her background is actually mainly Chinese with the dragons, architecture and stuff though her outfit seems to be more Japanese. Some of the other unicorns in her homeland have Chinese collars though so it's definitely Asian inspired at the core
@@heathersky333 thank you
Here`s a fact that I am surprised that no one brought up. If research them you will see that Kirins are actually dragons.
Dragon-deer hybrids with different body parts to be exact
Hello darkness my old friend, I’ve come to talk to you again
Pig_catapult, Wow! I hadn't thought of anything so serious connected to this episode! (I wonder if the writers were thinking this at all?)
These guys are gorgeous especially the leader.
Video: “7 Minutes or less”
Actual video: *9 minutes*
Also, am I the only one hoping Autumn Blaze comes back? She made this episode so much better than it otherwise would’ve been. Besides, you don’t put that much energy and attention and personality into a character and give them a killer voice and song just to throw them away, right?
Fluttershy was awful in this episode. She had no right to lose her temper with Apple Jack at the beginning after abandoning her. Her arguement on keeping the Kirin silent was horrible but the episode treated the argument as if they had valid points. Her little stunt with the flowers only made it worse cause the episode rewarded her for her awful behavior.
This episode is the greatest one in the entire season in my book.
I thought it was the only really good episode of season 8. That season sucked.
What you say kinda proves that the cutie Map idea is no longer as fresh as when it was introduced in Season 5. Dragonwarlock(from Deviantart) would agree with you.
I've been waiting for this UwU
I think this was hands down the best episode of the season, because it showcased the characters as having emotions besides their element of harmony. I mean, we legit just meet Autumn Blaze, and we know her whole personality, faults, hobbies, and the fact she had the courage to be alone instead of silent with her tribe she grew up with. The Disney song I think is because she's a secret Disney Princess. Also we NEED to find the voice actress for Autumn Blaze, and make her a main character, maybe even next season she can come to the school of friendship :D
They aren't ponies, they don't bully others
Sure fluttershy and Applejack are going on a friendship quest "wink wink", I feel like someone is going to make a fanfic later on about this
*gets to the Phantom of the Opera part" NO! NO! No! No.....I'm not gonna sit here and let you tell everyone exactly what is wrong with, because, I personally, see no flaws, at all, so how about you just keep your mouth shut on the topic? -_-
5:37 My headphones fell apart when I laughed. I still love Elon though.
Number 35 She didn't sound that young to me she sounded slightly Asian which is where the legend of the Kirin came.
How can someone "sound asian"? Do all asian voices sound the same to u? She didnt have an accent, so you couldnt have been talking about that.
On the road to friendship is still the best episode this season, with the best song.
Really awesome Video!!😄👍
So is nobody gonna talk about how several Kirin just disappeared when Apple Jack and Fluttershy stopped arguing
Autumn Blaze is already my favorite backround character💚
And also everytime she talks she always reminds me of the TH-camr The Lost Narrator, just in the way she acts and how she sounds in general.
Finally 😂😂
That filly came from Disney.
You should have pointed out that it takes one flower to cure the entire village, but takes a entire flower bed to cure one Kirin.
Oh, yeah, the creatures that literally burn with anger live in a very easily-flammable location. Real smart.
Aj if she was human I'd think she was on her woman monthly time ! Lol take a chill pill aj
Everyone being part of one thing makes me think of NGE. All that is missing is the LDC fluid and Lilith, Rei, and Adam combining.
lets add Kirin to the list of random pony-like creatures hasbro has added. Enter bat ponies.
Right to remain silence? Come on can't you give it arrest with the puns?
7:19 They have a lot of weird animal traits, but the simplest way of describing a kirin is just to call it a dragon with hooves.
2:08 No pony else get to the last stop, whose luggage is that?
I want Autumn to meet Pinkie Pie
lol at 8:29 the flowers are shown to be called "balls breath" haha
it’s the fucking phantom of the opera jokes for me
They didn't ruin another waifu fluttershy is still my waifu
She was kinda bit of a mean one in parts of episode and didn't use her words, could say the same with Applejack but disappointed a bit with fluttershy.
@@duskwolf300 okay
This episode was just a giant example of bad communication lol
When applejacl found "The peeks of paral" How could she even jump that far??
Changing the characters personalities for an episode really is starting to bother me...
Its seems to not only stop one from talking, but also seems to dull ones emotions, which I think is how they never transformed
Quieter than an apple blossom on snowfall
If an apple blossom falls on snow
It won’t really make much of a sound
Sin 28. I think the lose of feeling was a side effect of the stream. Also it was that they could feel but they couldn't express it in any way I think.
i agreed.
you are the best!
The effects of the Stream of Silence isn't that it removes their emotions completely, but suppresses them.
i honestly cant believe thats what he thought kirins were
Come on tonight you know my flanks don't lie and I'm starting to fire it up
‘Oh it’s just that I’m not used to seeing anypony taking the train to the end of the line’
‘The final destination’
‘The last stop’
Pretty sure we got the message the first time, buster.
To answer your question.... n-no...just no... they are not some make a wish OC, they are Kirin, an Asain mythical animal. With the logic you used all of the Pegasus and Unicorns are make a wish OC's since their mythical creatures as well.
Looks like twilight has been listening to Shakira recently.
2:59 - Let's not forget that Fluttershy isn't the strongest flyer.
1:05 umm theres no words or hieroglyphics on that shield...
5:05 "Police! Police who? FBI, OPEN UP!"
Not only that but it’s called✌️sound of silence✌️get it the song sound of silence by Simone and Garfunkel
It's not that they don't have emotions, it's just that their emotions were dulled a considerable amount given that people can still get angry at one another even without the ability to speak. So they can feel things just very subtly. Or at least that's what I picked up..
Theres a new meme going around the fandom mostly I'n the game Ponytown they worship a God named Jim
how about:
(x) the first time... for a second quest? well, that IS special. you are "extra good at solving friendship problems" now, right? or is that an excuse for the sly squinting and hoof to mouth play. one might think you're hinting at something else. not at all....
(x) "final destination?" "the last stop?" ...... [still expecting to see a part of train come flying back and decapitate somepony]
(x) trains operating in reverse. because reasons.
(x) say what, old pony? is that booth soundproofed or something?
(x) Fluttershy doesn't scold AJ for calling her new friends varmints? and the squirrels don't get offended either? weird.
(x) back on the trail after a visit to the spa? if not, that's the quickest bounce back for AJ i've ever seen.
(x) has it occurred to you that maybe they aren't talking to you simply because they don't want to or don't want you here?
(x) "gesundheit?" right. because if they don't understand Ponish, i'm sure they'll understand German.
(x) "for the love of Celestia?" since you don't want to be profane in a children's show, let's go for the next closest possible thing.
(x) you'd rather not talk about it, but you'd sing, right? god, i hate it when i'm right. as if anybody didn't see that coming....
(x) "the singer was in love with another dude." yay. love triangle in a kid's show. plus kidnapping. awesome.
(-) Phantom of the Opera reference.
(x) the no-surprise exile. if i lived in that village, i'd probably want to exile her too. she's like Bugs Bunny on crack.
(x) couldn't you have turned the couch sideways and crooked to fit it out the door? laziness factor +10.
(x) btw, i love your accompaniment. Wilson, you've got some competition, buddy... Wilson? ...... WILSON!!!!!!!!!
(x) okay, we've enough Autumn Blaze crazy. hoof puppet is overkill. don't even care if its name happens to be Mitch Conner....
(x) so i guess everypony sucks at charades then? and of course nopony is stuck in the well. she ain't Lassie, is she?
(x) AJ, stop apologizing for things you've already apologized for. it's silly.
(x) for that matter, you could apologize for how you've acted Flutters, but i guess you're too good for that. remember that, kids.
(come to think of it, it ain't the first time either. that's pretty sad.)
(x) there's no way throwing so few flowers in the water source would have worked like that. that cure would be far too diluted.
(x) "i can't say how much we missed your beautiful voice." just give it a few weeks. or a few days. you'll remember all right....
(x) um, did Blaze just flood the area right before the episode ended? certainly looked like it. exile her!
The name kirin is lightning and these things that pretty much have nothing to do with lightning
And dragonish and also seaponish
I think the leader just has a high pitched voice
