Skirmishers are actually pretty terrible. They have only slightly better health than artillery meaning they are easily destroyed by cavalry. They should not be left exposed as their low health means they lose in gunfights if they are in range and artillery can destroy them. They are basicly weak artillery that is more expensive but atleast a bit faster.
You got the artillery accuracy wrong, cannins are pretty inaccurate, each of the big plumes of smoke is an artillery hit and they often not on their target. While rocket artillery is very accurate because the firework explosion when the projectile explodes is usally above the target.
Also while rocket artillery isn’t that good. Dragoons and skirmishers are worse. Dragoons are terrible due to them having low range not being able to melee, they also are as expensive as elites, a much stronger unit.
Also Elites aren’t the best unit in the game. Cannons are the best but line infantry is second. Elites are 2.5x as expensive as line and are 2x as good from personal experience. I recommend replacing one of your lines with elites. Because usually you should only be able to afford one if you have 2 cannons and you only have one slot left. So basically use line infantry for most of your infantry and use one elite to improve the strength of your infantry.
Tips for those who cant manage multiple frontlines, buy 2 cannons, a few elites (recommend 2 or 1 if you want more line infantry) and the rest as lines. This will make sure that you have a strong front with elites taking the damage in the middle and line peppering back with shots from the sides Side note: place your cannons on a nearby hill (cooperate with your team to from a defense to allow continued firing without getting ambushed by cavs)
You should move low health troops back and high health troops forward. Elite have more health then lines but not more then double so I recommend keeping them in areas where they won’t be fired at by too many units, also I reccomand keeping cannon near the frontline due to them being more accurate and also allowing you to defend them from cavalry.

Lines are basic infantry and they are effective in higher numbers unlike elites, even with 10 elites. 10 lines can beat them in a ranged fight. Skirmish arent meant for those and they shouldnt be risked on an army with calvary, also elites. They are considered as the most "op" unit yet they are countered by arty, lines and skirmish, note that skirmish can be wiped so fast if elites take a few studs near them. Elites are a VERY strong unit and they can go against EVERY calvary and Also lines & skirmishers. They are effective on ranged when theyre out of range from lines or get near skirmish, elites can be used as reserves or breakthrough units and lines for defending or also breaking through enemy formations. Skirmish can be used to harrass but do remember that facing major fights using skirmish isnt worth it and can result in death. Lines... yeah they are op in also line formation, they arent so good like skirmish against calvary. Effective against all kinds of infantry though but arent good against elites in close combat. Please do try to add space when making formations when theres no calvary to threaten your line. Columns formations are good but youd lose units quickly if it faces 20 line infantry, theyre used for breakthroughs by the way. Last things, dont fight when you cant achieve artillery superiority and if you too new like 1 - 2 years of experience. Dont try to act high and mighty against veterans who are probably masters of defense or offense, your cooked even when they have only 2 or 4 against an army of 8 & 10. Trying to fight without artillery support is like trying to balance a needle on top of another when you consider yourself a pro. Acting high and mighty is bad and can lead you to high losses or even defeat, your hopes might be high but its dangerous since they arent good. Also dont act ignorant or even be optimistic and confident, they lead to you getting bad results and lower morale, crippling command with your team (its worse when your the MAIN general), and lastly could get your enemy confident enough to flank, rush, force teammates to switch sides, and weaken your position as a commander or teammate -yours only, field marshal haruko_huri.
I only covered the simple version of infantry or, "infantry in a nutshell" if thats what it means. Anyways those are just the fundamentals and i could write about calvary if asked.
@@fury3290 it got patches but basically you either waited 2 minute and you would get X2 credit or spam the unit and delete it which gave you 2x of its credit
hills are just strategic places. They give no buff but they give the ai more vision and can make retreats less risky due to the hill blocking ai vision
@@Marrakeshhh then why do my troops lose health when they get on the hill? even when im at spawn near a hill, it lowers the health. and when i get out of the hill, the health goes back up

Always disable artillery when opponent cav are attacking for no friendly fire

I find my self used g 4 elites and 2 cannons. Also some time i find my self have more then 1000 point some times how does that happen?
Its a duping bug, devs are trying to patch it I'm sure they will patch it.
