The door closing sounds like the LNER

The livery makes it look old though, i thought they would have brought out a new livery

A very unusual case of the replacement trains being louder than their predecessors. I was amazed when I visited the Metro by the apparently completely silent trains. I listened as hard as I could but the motors are totally drowned out by ambient and track noise!

Weird how the current trains are so silent. The occasional train has a bit of a whine or growl

Out of interest, why does the Metro use km/h when heavy rail is mph? I suppose changing it over to mph would be too much trouble now, but it's always been an anomaly.

Thats a great question and I don't actually know the answer. I assume that it might have been how metro was built/complications.

I think it was down to the late 1970s when it was expected the UK would become metric, but that never happened

@@Matty12333 Yes, I can remember in school we were switching to using metric units for maths and science, but were told in 1979, full metrication wouldn't happen for at least 10 years. I suppose the Metro had been planned for a metric railway that never happened elsewhere.

@@Glenn1967ful It's interesting because Crossrail is a new railway but they use mph
