I love the aviator frames, and about 8 years ago picked up three pairs in an estate sale for $5 for all 3! One was the diamond hard in this video and another was a leather bound gold framed pair. I followed your authentication tips and these all line up. I am blown away, I came across these today in the attic and did some research and I am blown away! I had no idea I had stumbled across such gems.
I just bought some aviator raybans for $65 from ebay and was surprized they came with that diamond logo then I tested the lenses and sure enough they're made of Glass not plastic. Kind of glad I bought these they're cool. Now these are my new favorite sunglasses. The pictures did not show that they are but maybe the seller made a mistake and sent me the all glass lenses model. I won't complain about that lol.
Back when Ray Ban could proudly claim “The world’s finest sunglasses”, these are probably the swan song of b&l sunglasses alongside the General 50th anniversary
These are grand. Present-day RBs don't even compare. But if you were to express your educated opinion, which sun lenses in today's eyewear industry would be a worthy competitor / successor to these vintage B&L RB50 lenses?
My old Ray-Bans that I had, a aviator and I think they was wayferer or something similar. It's been about 17 years since they was stolen. I miss them so much. The plastic frame ones had a unique lense color that I haven't seen another.
B+L Ray-Bans were the most finest build frames ever. Also in early times when Luxottica made Ray-Bans the build quality was pretty good. They just cheapend it so much in the last 10/15 years. Sad to see. Its all bc of money over service @ quality.

The arms are meant to be bent in order to fit your ear perfectly, which makes them very comfortable. B&L knew what they were doin!
Picked up a pair of these from the thrift store about a year ago. Absolutely amazing glasses. I love the clarity of the lenses and the secure fit.
