I love how you literally looked away from the screen every time either Ashley or Cesar disappeared until the third and fifth times. It's a whole storyline. I know you'll watch it again and pick up on it, but it was very funny to watch you almost deliberately not notice it. :)
Jenn constantly looking away right as Cesar and Ashley disappear was killing me, hahaha! She finally caught it the 3rd time. That fading away tells such a story all by itself. I'm old enough to remember going to the arcade with my first boyfriend, being dead serious about air hockey, and his determination (and hilarious failure) to win me the white bear with heart tootsies. I already love this song, and VP's Spanglish version is even better. So reminiscent of my childhood best friend's mother, born and raised in Puerto Rico, who sang the Spanish version all the time.
Love how Cesar's (and Ashley's, but it's more obvious on Cesar) vowels and especially consonants shift when they switch to Spanish - it highlights your comment about differences in voice between first and second languages. His /s/ became a little thicker, not quite Castillian, as did the /t/ /d/ and other plosives. It's obvious that Spanish is his first language but he can switch between the two now seamlessly. Someday i hope to get that skilled with my languages!
Loved your reaction to this beautiful song! Thought you were going to miss the theme that they were there and then disappeared. An eclipse of the heart!😂 but you finally caught it half way through the song. It had happened several times before that. Love her voice and she really fits well with voice play! Beautiful, and thanks for the lesson! Low bass Kenneth
This one is so gorgeously filled with harmony. And the visuals are so beautifully interpretive and yet, not overwhelming, so we can each see it from our viewpoint.
Love that you caught the Swatch. I saw one young man saying "toy watch" :) It's a very emotional song. If you were watching they couple kept on disappearing one at a time. It's a break up song.
Ashley's alto range is just beautiful! As an alto/tenor I may be a little bit prejudiced. Ashley and Cesar were disappearing the whole time, you were so concentrated on the vocals (as you should be) that you missed it. Their vocals are always glorious, but their ability to tell a story is wonderful.
I just knew you would be stopping a lot! Hearing this as a duet, and the way the video details the story, makes it more interesting! Thanks, Jen, for another great reaction. Stay well!
Love how much fun you had with this reaction, from burping and frying to Geoff to the 'I'm absolutely hilarious' comment 😂. Indeed you are Jen and that's why we love your reactions, keep up the good work 👍
I love it when I can connect with content...our brains must have connected at some point because my analysis was nearly identical to yours when I initially watched this video. Thanks for going through some of the mechanics of belting, still can't quite get there myself. As a polyglot with English, Spanish, and Italian, I absolutely adore singing in foreign languages (yes I'm an opera nerd)! I wonder why they opted for Spanglish, though? Any explanation I may have missed?
Cesar and Ashley are both from Puerto Rico, so Spanish is their first language. There was a very popular version of the song in Puerto Rico so they decided to include that. Loved it.
So much for your powers of observation, Jen. Cesar and Ashley disappeared several times before you woke up and noticed. It's symbolic that to prove you can be happy one day with each other, and then, for whatever circumstances, that one person is no longer around anymore, whether it be a good friend or a significant other.
Yep, this.☝I saw this comment before I watched the reaction and had to laugh as I watched, because Jen kept looking away _just_ in time to miss it. 🤣Can't just listen to a VoicePlay video, you have to keep your eyes glued to the screen or you miss so much!
Avery very poor attempt at recreating magic .I was ther for the original and this is just a bunch of kids with a sound engineer that can mak them sound good.

🙈 woops!!! The music was just too good that I got swept away hahah!

I love when Ashley sings with Voice Play! Her voice so sweetly blends into the group that I think she could be a full time member! 💖 😊

Cesar and Ashley are both Puerto Rican. So they're equally proficient and fluent in both English and Spanish.
@@ForeverDegenerate knew about Cesar, not user about Ashley Diane. Thanks!
Ceasar and Diane's voice blend so seamlessly and the harmonies OH MY WORD!! I love this one by VoicePlay and your reaction is spot on Jen

I've listened to this about a dozen time but when I listen to you breaking it down I learn and HEAR so much more. You really are good at what you do.
Oh thanks so much!

I’d agree with you her range is great I love her lower range
Vocals, images, story... this one is a winner.
Great reaction and analysis. I can't wait to see your collaboration with them!
What? When is this happening?
I was so rooting for the characters Ashley and Cesar to make it. Such a gorgeous song.
I just knew you would be stopping a lot! Hearing this as a duet, and the way the video details the story, makes it more interesting! Thanks, Jen, for another great reaction. Stay well!

Is there a reason we need to be mean and insulting and sarcastic about it?
