My daughter and now my grandaughters still love this song!
This has stood the test of time -truly one of the greatest songs of all time
I love this song. Brings back so many memories from my more youthful days. Funny how you remember the lyrics so many years later. Here's to the past.
I still have to look at my phone when someone asks for my number, but can remember the lyrics to so many of these songs from years ago. Guess your brain chooses what's important enough to make room for lol
Are you dutch?
My troubles melt away for 3 minutes and 24 seconds every time I listen to this wonderful masterpiece.
Summin’ Teets, my thoughts exactly. The memories...
Used sing this with my dad riding around in his work truck..
Now its me and my six year old

U should try old school country music more often, a great way of life
I’m 12 I was raised on this song
First country song I liked, hated country growing up, hated that I liked this and my mom wouldn't let me live it down for like 20+years. Every time I said I didn't like something thing, it was " well, you like NGDB..." 36 now, been listening to this since kindergarten.

Love that warm vinyl sound.
About 10 years ago my grandpa bought a 1996 smokercraft fishing boat a real nice little fishing boat. Anyway he left it up at his farmhouse for 2 years and we just got it out of there and after 3 weeks of repairs and cleaning we went fishing in a big lake and used the stereo to play this song on the way to our fishing spot.
Great song great singers. I could listen to this all night and all day. It's been a favorite every since it came out.
I can't agree more than allowed but yes. 👌

I love these older country music then today it’s sad 1st Kenny Rogers died now joe diffie it hurts when you listen to the 80-90 country music people are dying I’m sad😢😭
Yeah.... RIP Joe Diffie. Let’s pay our respects one quarter at a time. :(..
Seeyousoon
The one I think hurt the worst to lose was George Jones man, he wasn't wrong either, who's gonna fill their shoes. Joe Diffie was another HUGE loss to me tho, I grew up listening to pickup man and I still play it on full blast riding down main street :)
@@cporterfield88 I Hope that Joe Diffie got what he wanted, and was propped up beside the jukebox. I was sad when I heard that he had passed.
today it was Charlie Daniels , RIP Charlie ,,,,

Vinyl is flooring
Yeah also my dad took me fishing to this song. Always been my favorite song💜
BEST SONG EVER! Am I the only one who thinks it is super sexy?
Honestly, fishing in the dark is some of the best fishing you'll ever do. Unfortunately when fishing catfish in the dark one must remain focused on the task at hand, catching the big fish lol. Yeah right we both know this song is about bangin on the river bank lol
Nope
Erica Sutton nope your not.🙋🏻

What’s vinyl

Best song ever or at least one of the many. From vynel to cassette tape to CD and on to youtube. This song still sounds just as great as it did the day it was recorded. Very few songs can do that.
Road tour to this song when I was younger. Great classics band.
Absolutely thankful for this upload. I grew up with this song and remember also playing it on TH-cam later on and no matter how bad the quality was, I listened to it lol, but this is superb 👌.

Southern country boy grew up on the banks of high rock lake this is home
Are you talking about high rock lake in Lexington, NC. Cause if you are, wow what a small world. I grew up on the banks of that very same lake. Crazy if it is, lol
Been a ngdb fan since I was a kid, I'm 55 and still think they wrote some of the greatest love songs ever.
And yes, I serenade my wife with this and a few other favorites
Lazy yellow moon comin' up tonight
Shinin' through the trees
Crickets are singin' and lightning bugs
Are floatin' on the breeze
Baby get ready
Across the field where the creek turns back
By the old stump road
I'm gonna take you to a special place
That nobody knows
Baby get ready, ooh
You and me going fishing in the dark
Lying on our backs and counting the stars
Where the cool grass grows
Down by the river in the full moon light
We'll be fallin' in love in the middle of the night
Just movin' slow
Stayin' the whole night through
Feels so good to be with you
Spring is almost over and the summer's come
And the days are gettin' long
Waited all winter for the time to be right
Just to take you along, baby get ready
And it don't matter if we sit forever
And the fish don't bite
Jump in the river and cool ourselves
From the heat of the night
Baby get ready, ooh
You and me going fishing in the dark
Lying on our backs and counting the stars
Where the cool grass grows
Down by the river in the full moon light
We'll be fallin' in love in the middle of the night
Just movin' slow
Stayin' the whole night through
Feels so good to be with you
You and me going fishing in the dark
Lying on our backs and counting the stars
Where the cool grass grows
Down by the river in the full moon light
We'll be fallin' in love in the middle of the night
Just movin' slow
You and me going fishing in the dark
Lying on our backs and counting the stars
Where the cool grass grows
Down by the river in the full moon light
We'll be fallin' in love in the middle of the night
Just movin' slow

My dad used to listen to this song.
This is the only song that will calm my 6 month old down she will literally fall asleep to it ive always loved this song
Your little one has great taste in music. I played one of their greatest hits cds a lot in the car when my kids where little. My kids loved their music my oldest loved Cadillac Ranch. Funny he mentioned it recently, he couldn’t remember the name of the song but remembered the lyrics. I still hear Fishin in the Dark on the radio frequently, in my opinion this is just one of those classic that has stood the test of time.
I'm 13 and love all the song from back in the day even though I know some of the where made when I was a kid

Memories of my summer of love, 1987, sneaking off on our forbidden rendezvous, in closed forest park after hours by the trinity river with darling Jenny, my first love. Memories so sweet they make me cry 33 years later.
Awe, that's about the sweetest thing I have heard in a very long time. That about brought tears to my eyes just reading it.
This is my favorite song of all.

Wow beautiful song to have at your wedding
Right on where ya from? Asking from Linden California!
How is that his "new bride" lmao 24 years of marriage is far from a new bride 😂
@@jessecrain6100 he's talking about when she was a new bride.
fantano
Always loved the dirt band but to cool to find out my twenty year old daughter is in to them
The dislikes are people that thought this song was about fishing.
Its a shame they don't play this stuff on the radio anymore.
Giving me Cody Johnson's Wild as You vibes- anyone else?
