I feel like the BP movement has unintentionally created this idea that choosing to lose weight is inherently negative when in reality losing weight for a number of reasons including simply because you want to is perfectly okay and valid! What is the most important to remember is that living in a bigger body does not mean you deserve disrespect or to be treated differently. But also that losing weight in a healthy way as a personal choice is completely valid as well.
I like your shift of opinion in body positivity. I’ve been embracing body positivity over the last year, but I’m losing weight right now due to a shift in what I’m eating (to more healthy food). I’ve felt conflicted by that!
@@skrittle555 while I definitely agree to some parts of this, I think it’s also super important to remember that “health” isn’t synonymous with weight loss. In fact, intentional weight loss can be detrimental for those with eating disorders or disordered eating and ends up being the opposite of healthy. I’m not here to talk down on the body positivity movement, I’m just here to hold space for folks who want autonomy over their bodies when it comes to things like pursuing their version of health or wanting surgery, cosmetic procedures etc. Hope that makes sense 💗
Also just wanna add - when I say “normalize not having an opinion about everything”, that doesn’t mean politics or serious human rights/world issues lol. Obviously. It means consuming yourself with the little things or business of others so deeply that you care way too much about dumb shit. Hope that came across the right way 😂💗
Okay now it makes so much sense as to why I feel SUCH a familiarity and sense of comfort watching your videos and feeling like I know you. I'm a Nashville native!!! Born and raised, lived other places, and keep coming back. You aren I are the same age and on a similar path, and I just wanted to touch on how beautiful it is that we reflect the places we've lived - the places where we became ourselves. You're just the best, and I wish we were friends in real life.
I have really tried for the longest time to just NOT have super strong opinions about things especially things I have absolutely no control over. It’s so easy to get heated about things and I feel I have so much less drama and more peace when I just stay very pro choice about everything
Carrie! There’s so many things I love about you. You’re genuine, well spoken, and knowledgeable about current facts. I always learn something from you and I really appreciate your vids. Thanks girl!! Ps my girl crush was definitely Torrence from Bring it On😂😂😂
I think a lot of people in LA feel that way- you’re so busy trying to afford it/make it that you can’t really enjoy it. I left right around the same time you did
1. SAME GIRL SAME for the Wedding Singer, SUCH a nostalgic movie 2. I completely respect your decision to keep your singing voice to yourself, it's such a personal form of expression and even our identity. As a long time viewer and also a vocal coach, I have often thought 'oh Carrie has such a naturally lovely voice.' I TOTALLY get looking back on old videos and cringing, I do it, my students do it, but just know from the opinion of this vocal coach, you have some real, raw talent! Not saying this to pressure you in ANY way whatsoever, do what feels right in your heart. I just wanted to share my thoughts for what they're worth. ❤️
It’s so true what people say about us Americans. We live to work, while manyyyy other countries only work to live. We spend so much of our time working while we don’t take enough time to relax and have leisure time.
Always love your q&as Carrie!! You’re so well spoken and it always feels so comforting to hear your voice and to listen to someone so likeminded and kind 💗 all the love!!
I have never heard you sing before so i put your name and sing in YT search engine and an old vid of you and what I assume is your dad singing with a guy on a mandolin (my favorite instrument) popped up. Wow, so beautiful. 🙌🏻 I totally respect you wanting to keep it a private thing but what a treat. 🤯🥰
I’m so glad you are opening up to modifying lifestyle as a positive decision regarding “body positivity”. I think embracing science regarding human health is as basic as environmental health. We are hopefully all trying to change how we treat the planet to correct for polluting oceans and air. We can sustain quality life here as long as possible if we don’t reject scientific evidence. I believe we can love our bodies AND learn how to self-care to feel well. Personally, I’m genetically predisposed to build muscle and retain fat. I’m not trying to look like Twiggy. I do feel so much healthier eating low glycemic index diet - like Keto and Mediterranean. I crave less carbs if I keep insulin production in check. Yes I do feel more energetic AND happier when I’m anywhere between a size 10 and fourteen. It’s not about esthetics it’s about science: the hormones triggered by fat cells and the inflammatory process as well. The culture of body positivity that shames people for seeking the healthiest body they can achieve is very problematic. I do embrace feeling good absolutely. I am opposed to trying to “diet” in unhealthy ways but seriously in the end it is about feeling happy and good in your skin. For me I know where I feel happiest and I also know I can’t eat in ways my genetics can’t accommodate.
I’m honestly really upset about Tess saying she has anorexia. I feel like she’s making fun of it because she’s the literal opposite of anorexic. My grandma died from anorexia and bulimia and this hurts me so deep.
Please look into what anorexia actually is. Atypical anorexia exists, and its literally just anorexia but in a bigger body. The word anorexia alone means lack of energy, it is a scientific term as well as an eating disorder.
I’d recommend a book called “the life changing magic of not giving a f**k”. It really helps with what you want to care about. There are so many issues in the world and your life but you can’t give your energy to everything or you will combust!
I‘m glad you have shifted view of this. For me it’s totally fine to lose weight. It is my way of showing my body the respect and love it deserves after being really overweight. I just to love my body before but I cannot denie that I feel better now after losing weight ( physical and mentally) however this is only my way of living and I would never judge someone else but only as long as you don’t judge me. I rather don’t talk about Tess Holiday as Personally I think she is quite duplicity.
Fun fact : Phoebe Bridgers was kind of my “tipping point” into realizing I’m Bisexual. I found her Instagram and was like “oh shit... yeah no I am definitely attracted to women” 😂
I work at an animal hospital as a technician and i dealt with my first client that caught an attitude about us still requiring 😷, i live in TX btw. It's also company policy atm that doctors not go into rooms, they're only doing phone consultations, which she was also very unimpressed with. (I also have a doctor thats Very immune compromised so we're pretty strict) She then told me she changed her mind about becoming a client of ours and we need to research covid more so we dont sound ignorant👀🥲 To which I told her, sounds good maam, i hope you find a clinic that shares your opinions. Have a great day.🙃 Then hung up and screamed🤣
How do you feel about those terrified to get the vaccine because of side effects? Nothing political just the science aspect? Because im terrified! I have awful reactions to basic meds and this being so new scares me!
Being scared is totally okay! One of my biggest fears is allergic reactions so I get being scared of the unknown. I would talk to your doctors or pharmacy to discuss in-depth your allergies, and then they can give you their best advice. I know a couple people who did get recommended not to get it just because of their allergies, but obviously it’s best to take your doctor’s advice.
Hi! You can have the injection done at a hospital, that way you’ll be monitored by medical personnel with immediate access to the necessary treatments should you need them. My sister did this due to similar concerns. (Ps. She was just fine. ) You’ve got this! 💛
Love you! Also you posted a closet clean out video a little bit ago and said you would be posting items on poshmark... I check everyday... when will you post those on poshmark? (Also not trying to rush you just genuinely curious so I can attempt to get the shirt I had my eyes on!) 😙
After one of my exes and I broke up he said, “We could still be friends at least.” I sent him the Dr. Phil, “Thank you for that” meme and never heard from him again😂

I don’t understand why people can’t be friends just because they have different opinions/beliefs. Especially when it’s political, it’s just stupid to lose friends over that stuff. I love your channel, I watch every video you post. I will say a lot of my opinions differ from yours but I still love watching you!
It’s not a difference in “political opinion” - it’s a fundamental difference in beliefs and who we are as human beings to our core. It’s really not that complicated. I personally choose to NOT surround myself with people who’s votes directly harm immigrants, BIPOC, the LGBTQ+ community (which I’m part of), and so on. If someone actively supports the unhinged Orange dictator who inspired his terrorist nationalist minions to storm the Capitol, I literally want nothing to do with them. If someone thinks wearing a piece of fabric on their face is “stifling our freedom” when millions of people have died from this virus, we won’t get along. If someone discredits the incredible work of scientists and doctors and spreads misinformation and distrust in vaccines, they aren’t in my life. It’s pretty cut and dry to me lol.
