I never noticed this, but I love the trend of Sam needing space whenever he gets super pissed--it's so in character. He keeps himself so tightly reigned and is such a private, introspective person, it makes sense he'd feel the need to isolate himself when he's about to explode. Removing himself from the situation and give himself time to process his anger is a smart move, but it's also just a very in-character way for him to get back to a rational head space. And Dean's reaction in this is so real. Trying to hide his own frustration, while also acknowledging Sam's need for space. What a well-played scene.

It isn't hypocrisy, but called character development. Rescuing Benny was the result of having tried to see it Sam's way and finding merit in it. That's what any wise man does, criticizing his own convictions, heeding the advise of those he trusts. Dean might not have rescued Benny if he had never discussed this with Sam, but if he had rescued Benny then he probably would've given Amy a chance, too, if somehow she only came after that.

LOOOL ya know what makes this funny: Jensen said he was in make up with Jared and they were reading their lines, and they had to make some of the dialogue more manlier cause it read like a 'Chick flick' breakup scene and none of the crew realized that they'd changed it....That's cause it still looks like a Chick flick breakup scene XD

I've gone through very hard situations where my sister is all I had to lean on when she found out I was lied to her about me and my cousin I got mad and didn't come to her that night everyone left I looked down the hallway her door was shut I put my ear up against the door opened the door hugged her tightly she didn't even grab onto me how mad she was at me I sat beside her she forced me to the ground making me swear not to lie to her again and to never scream at her I ordered pizza that night trying to get our relationship back on to where it was me and her have the best friendship I just about destroyed it by doing something stupid when she was trying to help
it's far better than just exploding, in order to keep the reign of his anger and be in a position to cool his head and think things properly, he needs space, had he stayed, Dean's presence and the tension could have made Sam explode. Notice how Dean keeps things inside until he can no longer do it, and explodes, either starting to scream and/or breaking things, while every time Sam is about to explode, he gets his distance from Dean in order to have a way to process things and eventually reach a logical standpoint. Of course, both methods are flawed and can't work 100% of the time, but comparatively, Sam's method is better.

I can really relate to Sam in this scene. My brother and i fight like this. One of us always needs to leave someone is gonna get hurt physically or emotionally. I have a violent temper, so i'd try to hurt him, but he's bigger, so he'd beat the shit outta me trying to defend himself. We can't talk either because some very hurtful words would be said. I dislike him so much sometimes that i wonder whether or not i'd care if he died tomorrow.
I really wish we had got a reversal of an earlier fight between the boys, with Sam telling Dean, "If I didn't know you, I would want to hunt you." Because all Dean was, when it came to Amy, was a murderer.
I kind of wish that for once they would have keep them apart so that this “fights” would feel meaningful cuz in the entire show the longest episodes they spend apart was like 3 at most In fact when dean was inhabited by Michael they should have keep them apart for at least half of that season and allowed sam and castiel to develop hell sam and rowena had a relationship of some sort could have been developed there meaningfully But no all this “fights” feel pretty empty once you know they dont stick around

Im assuming you’re not an adult so let me explain something to you. Walking away is the best option. Sometimes people will do things and it hurts, but instead of exploding, its best to walk away and regroup yourself.
Dean killed a woman that Sam kissed when he was a kid. There was a profound bond between them. A foundation of trust between him and Amy that Dean could never understand cause he has such a hunter mentality. Sam felt betrayed and hurt. I wouldnt compare his anger as reacting like a "big baby"
